As for Funkytown, that wasn't uploaded by a cartel, it was leaked almost 20 years ago with no context. Most of the worst are found on suspects phones, not uploaded as cartel propaganda. Even the famous Barbie video interrogating the four Zetas and killing Vizcarra wasn't sent to Dallas by Barbie as so often reported, but by a journalist. The main reason they aren't so common is that winning the wars being fought today are more and more dependent on the trust of the people (which helps sway the politicians and local authorities into backing one side over another and accepting the terms), so the Cartels (CJNG especially) have learned that it's counter productive to bombard them with horror, while pretending they are noble freedom fighters. The authorities that used to leak them to show how barbaric the Cartels are have learned that spreading terror does the Cartels work for them, while making themselves look weak.

Two of them are linked to multiple homicides.
ReplyDeleteThe detainees go by the aliases Luis “N”, “El Calaco”; Jesús “N”, “El Toro”; Andrés “N”, “El Chaparri”; and Juan ‘N’, “El Juanote”. Their arrest took place on the night of Friday, July 25, around 10:00 p.m., in a building located on José V. López Street, near José de Jesús González García Avenue, used as a “picadero” for the sale and consumption of drugs.
According to reports, the four individuals arrived at the location with the intention of “picking up” or executing a drug dealer who lived at the address with his family. Neighbors alerted the authorities when they noticed that the individuals were carrying weapons, which led to a confrontation with the municipal police who responded to the call.
After repelling the attack, the officers managed to arrest those involved, who were handed over to the Public Prosecutor's Office. Subsequently, the Prosecutor's Office obtained a search warrant for the property, where four firearms (two rifles and two pistols), magazines, cartridges, drugs, and a Volkswagen Jetta vehicle were seized.
Arrest warrants for homicide were executed against “El Calaco” and “El Toro.” In addition, the former faces additional charges of unlawful deprivation of liberty, crimes against health, and aggravated robbery. Meanwhile, “El Chaparri” and “El Juanote” were linked to the proceedings and sent to preventive detention for drug dealing, with a two-month period for further investigation.
