A video of the confrontation that took place early Sunday morning on Culiacán's Malecón Nuevo, where one member of the National Guard died and another was injured, was disseminated on social networks.

In the recording from a security camera, it can be seen when shortly after 3:00 a.m., a blue and a black van are loading gasoline at a gas station, where members of the NG arrive and point their guns at them.

The drivers accelerated their march and started the fuel hoses, while the soldiers moved forward. Subsequently, the black unit returns and from inside it they shoot at them. Two agents fall to the ground. Later one of them gets up.

The incident occurred on Diego Valadez or Malecon Nuevo boulevard and Tauro alley, in the La Lima neighborhood in the city of Culiacan.

The authorities reported that during the incident one national guard died at the scene and another was wounded; three of the assailants were arrested.

    2. Not much you can do on foot against 2 -multi ton vehicles loaded with armed assailants, Mr Superman.

The untrained NG just stood there pointing rifles while the sicarios backed up and started shooting them. How dumb do you have to be to let that happen and not even shoot your weapon? The guy that took a headshot thought that pointing his rifle at them would stop them, he found out different.

Bro,first thing i thought they took to long to get off firing and they were completely in the open, pour rounds into truck going in like that dont give them a chance to ready themselves did they think the sicarios were just going to stop?Sorry for the soldier either way and i hope they get payback

  5. That fighting stance and technique of approach by at least 4 “NG” coupled with the evasive driving and precise shots from the moving vehicles show that both parties were reasonably to very well trained. I hope BB can find some intel on who the captured assailants were.
    Thanks Char

    1. @1:06 maybe the bad guys had a sniper stationed in the trees providing cover.

  6. Looks like the National Guardsman that was killed was shot in the head as the car sped off. The cartel gunmen must have been spraying and praying out the car windows. May that National Guardsman rest in peace.

  7. RIP National Guardsman. But at least three of the assailants were captured. I hope that they don’t end up getting released by a judge and that justice is served in this case.

    1. Situations like this in Brazil. The military police do justice, they kill the shooters, throw the bodies and take them to the Morges, no investigation, no judges involved.

  8. Wtf, head shot like CS Go. You can't shot like that! In this black truck is someone who can shot very good at the low distance without being shot. Guerilla skills

    1. @2:43am. Not much skill needed if you have a decent caliber weapon, and close range. Maybe the bad guy was aiming at one and hit the other happens a lot in American cities. Innocents are shot and killed and the intended target is missed because they just close their eyes and spray.

  11. The NG that died took a head shot. They used very poor procedures to apprehend the criminals. They where either very poorly trained or didn't follow training protocol. When approaching suspects you must always assume that they are carrying weapons. You must also have some kind of cover. Standing in the open is not in the training manual. Calling for backup and securing the area is encouraged. We need our great American navy seals to go down there and train these guys. Nuff said!!!

Those are Mexican government issues, besides the Mexican President always says they have it under control. You should join the Mexican Navy, remember you have to follow orders from the higher up in rank, you can't go and do whatever you want.

    2. 5:14; Not true. The NG were spaced out walking in a tactical formation in their advance/approach. This limits ability to achieve cover with a rapid advance; as one can more readily accomplish in a defensive posture.

  17. Many fail to know the maximum effective range of rifles… in this case it didn’t pan out for the good guys, as they approached the vehicles on foot and in close range. I think that the fallen Soldier just got sprayed with many other bullets and that one hit him. Rest in peace Soldier.

    1. @9:46 you my friend are probably right happens everyday in the US. Kids in inner cities grab a gun, and then start shooting with their eyes closed. Is the target hit most of the time not, but innocent people are. If you have enough bullets, and close range you’re going to hit some1.

Stolen truck, no license plates, ranchero music blasting, rosary beads hanging from rear view mirror, gold plated AK-47's, Siberian tiger cub riding shotgun, these are just a few of the red flags that popped up in the initial GN recon..
