The Los Altos region of Jalisco was once again the scene of violent acts carried out by organized crime.

Users of social networks and military sources reported at least 3 blockades with burned vehicles.

The first was a tourist bus on the Jalostotitlán - Teocaltiche highway, near the community of San Nicolás de las Flores.
The third, a cargo vehicle set on fire on the Tepatitlán de Morelos - Valle de Guadalupe highway, near the Pegueros district.

This was the result of a confrontation between members of a criminal group and municipal police officers from Valparaíso Zacatecas, in which two officers were killed and another injured.

Just on November 26, state police officers shot two civilians during a confrontation between Mesón de los Sauces and La Virgen de la Curva, in the municipality of Encarnación de Díaz.

One state police officer was wounded in the shootout. A pickup truck with bullet wounds and two assault rifles were found at the scene.

After the confrontation, there was a blockade, in which unknown individuals set fire to a cargo vehicle that was left stuck on the San Juan-Jalostotitlán highway at kilometer 40 at the Curva del Muerto, in the municipality of Jalostotitlán.

Clashes are due to the reinforcement of security
Last Wednesday, the coordinator of the Security Cabinet, Ricardo Sanchez Beruben, assured that the confrontations in the Northern Highlands are due to the reinforcement of security in the limits with Aguascalientes, Guanajuato and Zacatecas, the same situation that occurs in other parts of the state.

He acknowledged that in the borders of Jalisco with Zacatecas, security was reinforced after the murder of General Jose Silvestre Urzua Padilla, coordinator of the National Guard in that state.
"As a result, these border areas have been reinforced with operational personnel to prevent the displacement of criminals from the state of Zacatecas to the state of Jalisco, and this is one of the best ways to address the issue of violence caused by organized crime.

The Strategic Security Coordinator also stated that day that violence has decreased in the area of Teocaltiche.

  2. Criminals still operate with impunity in the Los Altos region. Either authorities are understaffed or cooperating with organized crime groups. I have a sense that they are both understaffed and cooperating with organized crime groups.
