Video: Commando Convoy Reynosa preempts a day of shootouts and chases

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat sent in by "Noah" thank you👏 facebook, twitter, zocalo

A commando convoy of 14 or more vehicles driving around Reynosa, Tamaulipas on Carretera Ribereña [ highway 2], a main highway. [other reports say SMA from Monday followed by today in Reynosa]

A prolonged shooting in neighborhoods of Reynosa this morning and with a confrontation yesterday afternoon in Miguel Aleman, the cell of a criminal group clashed against rival groups who want to displace them from the Ribereña region and Reynosa.  There were several hour long chases and shootouts throughout the day.

The first reports of shootings began to spread in networks at 2:30AM, the groups used radio communication to warn the population of the “situations at risk”  in diverse points of the city, urging citizens that may be out to seek shelter.
The points of greatest conflict were the streets of the Industrial Park of the North, where even vehicles burned to create a blockade and  the main avenue (Technological).

On social networks users  reported shootings also in Libramiento Sur Uno (Matamoros-Reynosa-Monterrey pass) to the Periférico plaza, in the surrounding neighborhoods.

The videos in networks of detonations were broadcast in the morning, the most intense shootings were in colonias of  La Renacimiento, San Pedro, Los Muros, San Jose, La Cima, Boulevard Hidalgo, Colonia Las Fuentes and Aztlán.

Around 8 AM the Forensic Medical Service picked up a dead subject on 14th Street in the Aztlán-Fuentes neighborhood.

In the afternoon, around 1:00 pm, there were persecutions and shootings in the Pirámides neighborhood, behind Hospital 270 of IMSS, and towards the Libramiento Sur Dos, also between rival groups, without the intervention of military or public security corporations.

Mexico Highway 2 runs parallel to the border. This highway is not patrolled by the Federal government and is extremely dangerous during the day and more so after dark due to Narco "ownership" of the route. For safety, it is to be avoided. The better option is to use the toll road, Highway 40.

    7. I am 6:33 and yes indeed El Coss had a group called X and he was XX too. However, that has nothing to do with the X branding on vehicles.

  2. The first vehicle to pass happened ten minutes earlier. It was a halcone with a celular and no armas, or drugs. A quick call confirmed the road ahead was clear for them to pass.

    5. I am sorry for your loss. What i meant is I already spent several hojurs on BB as every day, I only wanted to find more info because your story was personal. If it were me I would have googled it in spanish to fins the story. that is what i meant by send the link. I just did not have time. BUT a BB follower sent some to me by googling so I was able to get a little more info.

      Thank you for the input.

About the "X"s you are correct, for at least since 2009 I have seen the Xs n convoys. I am sure they were used before.

most notable for me is the massacre between the municipalities of Tubutama and Saric sonora, that was an incredible "shootout" more like shooting fish in a barrel.

BLO with Zs and Isidro prepared to attack sinaloa cartel group gente nueva who had tried to snatch the route. Sinaloa had 50 or 60 vehicles blo allied group had almost double. they closed off both ends of the desolate road giving sinaloa no where to run. In the end the road was littered with cars with painted X's filled with bullet impacts, and dead sinaloa members. the official tally was 29 dead 9 wounded. but eye witnesses said the number was much higher. no matter, it was deadly.

Isidro is credited along with zetas of creating the attack plan along the lonely stretch of road, knowing they could block off each end of the road.

here are fotos from the aftermath

    6. CSG...[are you the original?] I apologize for seeming insensitive at first by asking for the link. I should've been more compassionate. I wanted to comply with your request and I had a deadline project in "real life" so I didn't have much time.

stay away from the narco news for a while. it may help, reading posts and seeing fotos may make it worse... My brother was murdered, it was also in the news, reading about it made it worse.

  5. El primito is scared his own people might give him up, CDN, cdg matamoros & m100-panilo want him dead.

Earlier this year CDN kindapped the mayor of Cuidad Mier and later released.

The routes to definitely avoid are cd mier to Monterrey & los guerra/Miguel aleman to los Herrera. Both are LIBRE = Free Road. Individuals traveling from Reynosa to Monterrey Toll road= cuota have less chances of running into narcos than on la libre from Rey-mty.
I know a lot of people who live in the valley/rgv who are scared to travel to Monterrey and avoid it by going to Laredo and taking the toll road to MTY.
I hardly see any federales on libre you incounter more military. The federales are more interested in taking your money than helping you. Specially if your driving a vehicle with American license plates (Speaking from my experiences).

I also want to point out that southern Tamaulipas is much worse than northern Tamaulipas specially around cuidad Victoria; petroleum & vehicle theft also kidnapping.

Shout to my gente in roma y fronton tambien a esa frontera chikita

  12. The most interesting item in the article is the fact that the Mexican government has basically ceded control of certain highways to the narcos. If this isn't a narco state, what is? The government is on the take, the police are on the take, the military is on the take, the regular people are on the take - I ask you, who is left who is not on the take? The entire society is corrupt from top to bottom. Let's hope AMLO can make a difference but I am not optimistic.

    1. If they all are on the currupted take, then, for sure you know AMLo will have no choice and be on the take, otherwise he will be served with Plata or plomo.

A lot of ppl have died on that road...a few years back they blew the bridges out to keep ppl from coming into Miguel Aleman and vice versa...they would leave heads on the bridges.

    1. The closest thing CDS will get to the frontera is Monterrey and even then they keep a low profile. Theyre a bunch of investors that deal with independent traffickers. They can't afford another lost like they did when Lazcano was around. I know this cause my buddy was facing 20 yrs messing around with some guys from Sinaloa out of Monterrey. He was just released 2 months ago after 9 yrs.

  33. Chivis I know your job is to report on the war in Mexico but it would be nice to show a little positivity sometimes. Not everything in Mexico is negative. Also praising Jesus Christ would be nice too but hey I’m just a guy that’s seen this a lot of this stuff first hand. Thanks for your work anyways....

    1. Please let's not start using that jesus christ garbage. It's a proven fact that the more religious that a country or state is the higher its violent crime rate is. If belief in jesus christ was an antidote for violence and death then Latin America would be the safest place to live and raise a family. While the most secular places like Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Australia and New Zealand would be countries of horrendous despair and poverty, but the opposite is true. Latin America is consistently the most violent and terrible places for security and comfort while the least religious countries are consistently the best places to live.

So please lets stop with the jesus christ stuff because it's only holding countries and citizens hostage. If people want to believe then that is their right(where 'rights' even exist) but people saying that the lack of belief is the reason for the current world are not helping and only making things worse. Let's instead promote education and awareness so that we're not repeating the same mistakes generation after generation. The answer to a happy and safe latin America is poverty reduction and drug reform, not religion.
