Lawyers: Dr. Mireles Will Be Freed In December

Translated By Valor for Borderland Beat

The leader and founder of the autodefensas of Tepalcatepec, José Manuel Mireles Valverde, will obtain his freedom in the month of December, “before the start of the holiday period,” assured his lawyers.

At a press conference accompanied by the leader of the Movimiento Ciudadano (Citizens' Movement), Dante Delgado, they detailed that they presented an argument for the exclusion of the crime and an error of prohibiting that would invalidate the crime for the possession of a firearm for the exclusive use of the army.

The fact is that according to his lawyer Ignacio Mendoza, the autodefensa leader had every right to carry and use weapons, as it was the authorities who had determined it, “it is proven that the State deceived the autodefensas,” he said.

The law firm said that they were 100% sure that he would be released before the holidays.

José Manuel Mireles is being held in the maximum security prison in Hermosillo, Sonora, since June 27, 2014.

  1. Hopfully this time it's for sure they have been saying the same thing for months and always come up with some bs to keep him in there I can't believe how rotten Mexican authority can be having this hero locked up while all these cold hearted psychos out there are chopping heads off and getting away with it by paying corrupt cops
chivis do you know anything about his health

    1. This hero as you put it got himself there, by not working with the police. You can not make your own justice and I'm sure if he would have done the same here in the USA he will be in jail as well.

    2. 12:03 you forget that the poolice AND the army were NOT doing their job, AND THAT policia judicial sent to michoacan got into a trap And got murdered while the Soldiers just watched And their own brothers at arms gave them hell for being such a pussies when they returned to quarters, AND that the cartels doing the killings and murdering were tight with the federal and state government...
--Forget it all but don't forget this 12:03 chingas a tu madre, pero está bien que no respetes güey

    3. The police are in on it, why would he work with them?? So they can sell info to cartel members that could get him and his people killed?? The police ARE the bad guys a lot of the time "down yonder". Think about what youre saying. All that aside, didnt he have some working agreement/relationship with elements of the MX govt????

      Delete
    4. Well it's kinda hard to work with the police when they r corrupt as hell and would probably end up giving him up to the cartel since they work for them. And you said IF he was in the USA but he's not

    7. 12:03 PM: Can't decide whether you're a Trump troll, Blackwater reject, or a cop groupie, simple minded or vicious. From Alaska to Mexico, with stop overs in EEUU and Canada aka "North America," the "C" word is applicable to policing. Corruption rules law enforcement agencies, unfortunately, those who may not necessarily be on the take get used by those who are, or turn a blind eye to crimes committed by fellow cops. This is indefensible by any count. My dear, old friend is a cop who investigates other cops. He said something one day that's quite sad if you think about it. "My job doesn't make a f'ing ifference." Take your trouble elsewhere, 12:03, you're in the wrong neighborhood. 100 years from now, Mexico's Good Doctor's name will be remembered, yours won't.

If he does, he will not last long..

    4. Safer in prison? You're joking. Dr. Mireles is a threat to the powers that be because of what he represents, his cause is just, he does speak for the long oppressed and abused. He, and others among Mexico's political underground possess enough of the will of the people to topple the status quo. If, he makes it out of prison alive, he should go back to the US and raise money for justice in Mexico. ¡VIVA EL PUEBLO MEXICANO! ¡VIVA MIRELES!

    2. A chicken wing. CAN be used as a weapon FYI.

      Delete
    3. Maybe they are taking a different approach. Probably was a chicken wing but that wasn't getting him out of jail. So it's like, ok it was a weapon if you say so but I had it legally.

      Delete
    4. Take note, this is a new argument from a new attorney. they are being protective in both scenarios. Doc M rarely carried a weapon as seen in the photos right before his arrest and the day before and 99% of the time he never had a weapon. Only twice did I see him with a weapon and that was in a shootout with CT, one is on video. although he was not using the weapon he had a grip on one.

He had escorts who did carry weapons.

this argument is smart, because if he ever is free he will have that right to carry a weapon. he will need that and an armor car. his armor vehicle was seized by the government although he had only paid for a little more than half of the amount owed. I think Talia was a co-owner.

    5. Talia the actress??

      Delete
    6. Talia wanted the doctor to marry her ass, in any case she is a federal deputy now, or state? I don't really know or care, the doctor should not be sooo cute, but he can' help it, he needs to move to the US quick fack it all, and start again from here, he will sell books and bookings and make money to use against the motherfacking mexican governing narco-mierdocracia from exile, if alexander solzhenytzen could make it from siberia, the doctor can.make it from the US...
He ain't gonna be a prophet in michoacan from below, he can from away...

    1. He just might leave Mexico, for his own safety. I am sure, he has considered that. People, who are fighting the same fight he's fighting, are dying everyday! Being in that position, is like signing your own death warrant. I know he loves his country, his peoples...or he'd never be where he is today. Thing is, a dead man can get things done. He might be able to do more, from someplace else much safer. He has a lot to think about.Things have changed since his arrest. Some of the people, who he" thought", were with him....with the cause, have flipped. One things for sure, he's had lots of time to think about things. He's a smart man, he'll figure it out. His own health and safety, have to come first. Without that, he can't do anything, for anyone. Good luck doc!

Meanwhile we have fat arse Americano and the comical little skeezer Pitufo who now thinks hes some kind of half arsed rock star in surfer shorts?Remember the huge gun battle Americano kicked off at Moras compound(his son was killed)? No one was arrested from either side?Known ex Templarios rockin AKs in full view of everyone and look whos in prison for supposedly having a firearm(he fuckin needs one)Dr Mireles and now Semei Verdia Zepeda?

  21. Mireles intentions were good at the begining but after a while it all went to shit. His error was allowing criminals into the movement allowing CJNG to arm and finance them. Mireles also dindnt take into account that not all the templarios were extorting. The ones that we're are also the ones that joined the movement or how you people call them the ex templarios. The only people who we're getting charged cuota we're people who were somehow invloved in the game or had benefited in one form or another. Miraeles also didn't realize who he was going to war with in Michoacan their are people who are as powerful as the top capos in Mexico. Why do you guys think they are able to battle the government and still be around. What CJNG did to the government in Jalisco has happened in Michoacan at least 10 times soldiers getting hit hard police getting ambushed I've gone to Michoacan at least 5 time s in 10 years and every time I have gone people talk about how those people shot down a helicopter so thats at least 5 helicopters but you won't hear about that. It's no coincidence the government has at least 30000 government forces their and still they can't finish them. The reason CJNG want michoacan is because their is a war between Michoacanos. It wouldn't suprice me if it's a war between the same family Abigael Gonzalez Valencia vs Nazario Moreno Gonzalez or just a coincidence. All this I'm saying is just my opinion except for the helicopters don't know if it's true.

  23. To the reader who saw the film carteland and was shocked by doc's infidelity.
I cannot find your comment, which I saved to address it but I think that is the main point you had.

Yes doc was unfaithful. he is human and does not walk on water. I too was disappointed but when I asked him about it I just wanted to confirm if the reports were true, and he confirmed that they were.

Mexican culture is accepting of this behavior. It is not even uncommon for men to have tow families, a wife and mistress. Nor is it uncommon to have a vast age difference. In this case he asked the fathers permission.

The way I see it, marriage is between two people, what happens to breach the covenant of faithfulness is between those two people, JFK and Marilyn, Monicas blue dress, chapos wife plus three almost wives, and doc m infidelity is not my business.

Does it make me a little uncomfortable? Sure. Does it make me think less of the man, his character, his fight for peace, his honesty, his friendship?

    Hell to the no!

    1. Dr Mireles is very very human as evidenced by his stand against the Templarios he has a big heart and big feelings.
Personally i feel that he was probably strengthened and enriched by this young lady,he probably wasn't looking to do this but as we all know the emotions stirred up are unbelievably powerful, and at that particular time,it came as a blessing and a bolster to his whole spirit,we should not dwell too much on his private life, instead, focus on what he achieved against dangerous odds that continue to this day against his own gov and others..
Lets not malign him for being a human being, and, its his business.

    2. Thank you, he really is the real deal..

remember he had resident status in california and left back to Mx after 10 yrs. it was during his 10 years in modesto that my best friend met him. my firend an atty doc a acitivist and translation voluteer for the american red cross.

it was my friend who told me I needed to check Doc out, that he is an honorable, honest man who cares about the poor, abused and marginalized people. I wrote to Doc at this office and our friendship began.

as for his girlfriend, or former girlfriend, his wife said that was his flaw, but shortly after she left him for colima. and she began a hateful campaign against him. one thing she said, "he is poor, has nothing, but if he has one peso it is mine"

after he was arrested she came out as the dutiful wife asking for donations for his defense, he recorded a message he wants no donations and "ana valencia" does not speak for him. they were divorced after the plane crash.
