Benito Juárez, Zacatecas: 8 Corpses Wrapped In Blankets With Signs Of Torture Discovered

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

In the Benito Juárez community, Zacatecas, the bodies of 8 people were discovered. They were found with signs of torture and wrapped in blankets.

The discovery occurred minutes before 2 in the morning, on the road that leads to the community of Benito Juárez.

Neighbors in the area reported to the 911 Emergency System that there was suspicious movement of trucks and, apparently, bodies lying on the road.

According to the Spokesperson of the State Peacebuilding Table, there were 8 dead individuals who were located on the road. They were covered with blankets.

However, local media affirm that the bodies showed signs of torture and gunshot wounds.

The victims were left under the care of the Investigative Police (PDI) and taken to the General Directorate of Forensic Services (DGSP) as unidentified persons.

Likewise, evidence was collected at the scene to integrate the corresponding investigation folder by the Zacatecas State Attorney General's Office (FGJEZ).

With this discovery, 15 bodies have been located in Zacatecas in less than a week. Just last Sunday 7 bodies were found in a mountain area of Jerez.

  1. Anyone claiming responsibility yet? Is it strange if there isn't? We usually get some mantra saying, the cleansing has begun, we are only here to protect the citizens, we only go after chicken sellers, etc.

    2. 4:09; 4:16 said it. CDS and going back to GDL Cartel; they tend to disappear and rarely use public terror (psychological warfare) as a daily tool for civilians to see and hear about.

It works as we saw all the zeta cheerleaders years ago, and now the perhaps more delusional CDG fans that believe their propaganda. Their ignorance is sometimes entertaining, but in actuality these people who speak as they know something are clueless and have likely never even been to Mexico, or even know anyone living in Mexico.

Using terror as your normal modus operandi is a clear sign of desperation and a clear sign their control is not stable. It is always more profitable to manage quietly and stay out of view. The public display of terror, moving into extortion, kidnapping, fighting for micro tienda, etc is always a sign of desperation.

Look at the former zetas organization with the largest land port in the USA which is in my opinion the most ideal distribution entry point to the USA (biggest land port and best access to major hubs). I’ve been driving into Nuevo Laredo to various parts of Mexico no less than twice a month since the late 1990s and from 2008 until around 2015 there was always a huge military presence throughout Nuevo Laredo all the way to Monterrey. However, this has pretty much disappeared except for right after you cross Puente 2 or the Columbia Bridge and enter Mexico, there will be a very light military presence and sometimes I’ll see an APV or two before the Monterrey toll road. This is because the former zetas (CDN) effectively manage their plaza and they don’t need to, and are smart enough not to publicly display the terror they obviously still have to regularly engage in.

  2. Move over, narco-corrido. Trapteño is taking over. It is a hybrid of Atlanta-based trap music and Norteño music. Apparently Sinaloa Cartel contacts in Atlanta loved trap music and brought it back to the old country and created this subgenre. According to one observer, the underworld lifestyles of Atlanta and Culiacàn are quite similar.

    1. Anything is better than the traditional corrido sound. Singers trying to make narcos sound threatening and badass overtop some dopey polka-esque, grandparent beat just doesn't work for me.

    2. 4:32 it is a taste you acquire, just keep lissenin' until you get 'bout it, i remember i used to hate accordion and norteño music, then I found a few songs I can't do without.

    5. Over a decade ago there was "norteńo grind" or "death metal norteño" and, thankfully, it was stillborn. Same thing is going to happen to that garbage you mention.

    6. @hearst; I have to agree with 4:40. I’ve spent about half my life in Mazatlan and Cosala and I love Banda but not necessarily narco corridos.

    7. Gay as fuck. i hate trap+corridos. Honestly, Motown and Frank sinatra that's where music should have ended. we can only create so many damn sounds and make them sound good that's what people dont get

    8. @9:48. That stuff was good, papi. But your ears grow tired of the same stuff. When I grew up in the 70's I didn't want to hear no damn doo-wop and big band and jazz. Funk was in. I also liked Santana, El Chicano, Malo. Tierra.
