Apulco, Zacatecas: The CJNG Kidnaps Four Surveillance Camera Workers

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Video translation is as follows:

This past Thursday afternoon, four workers from a company that installs and maintains video surveillance cameras were abducted by a group of heavily armed individuals at the entrance to the municipality of Apulco in the state of Zacatecas.

A video circulates on social networks from the video surveillance camera that is installed on the side of the road where it is observed that a worker with a blue cap is near the camera finishing repairs. When a white vehicle with tint appears from which several men with long weapons descend. In the broadcast you can see the workers vehicle parked.

And although they are not seen within the film, there are other employees supporting their partner who is at the top of the ladder. Seconds later, another white pickup appears from which a dozen armed men descend and begin to spread out in the area. Afterwards the four workers are observed advancing with their arms raised in the air towards the armed men who point their guns at them.

One individual with a blue cap is still wearing his safety harness. He had just come down from the utility pole. The armed subjects force them to get onto the truck’s bed. And they take them away inside this vehicle in the direction of the municipality of Huejotitlán. Local media reported that these images are transmitted in real time to the bases of the Sedena and the National Guard which are just a few minutes away from the place where the abduction occurred.

And despite this, the federal forces elements never came to support the victims. The attorney general's office in the state of Zacatecas issued the search bulletins for the missing men who were identified as Jaime Fernandez Morales, Hector Abner Donoso Cruz, Jose Manuel Gonzalez Garcia, and Sergio Esau Ramirez Alonso.

The surveillance cameras in Apulco have served to demonstrate the constant presence of convoys of armed men. Despite this evidence and the recent confrontations, security has not been reinforced in that area where dozens of families live in fear, many more have fled. Local media indicates that the armed individuals who kidnapped the four young men are members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

  1. I don't believe that Apulco has a police force. They all quit several years ago. Apulco seems to be controlled by CJNG along with Teocaltiche. Mextican appears to be controlled by CDS with some local families aligned with the remnants of Los Zetas.

    1. Teocaltiche is CDS by way of Mario González JR

    2. This may be why CJNG dropped leaflets from a plane. Mario Sr. is famous for holding events at his ranch just outside of Teocaltiche. Some years ago Jr. was arrested but I don't know what became of that. I believe one of Emma's cousins is his right hand man.
It is difficult to tell who controls where in this area. The trucks came from the west (Nochistlan) so if these guy were CJNG, that's a pretty deep penetration into CDS territory.

    3. I travel to nochistlan regularly I stay out there about two months out of the year. I have family out there it is absolutely controlled by cjng and they are fighting cds (Mario Gonzales) who control teocaltiche. I just got back from nochistlan Two days ago a day after this video . I passed through that road

Your input is greatly appreciated. It is hard to get accurate facts from contested areas. Actually, the violence all started after Sr.s' death and Jr. took over before CJNG ever came into existence.
Sr. was a close friend's of El Mayo who seemed to eschew violence. The area was quite tranquil when Sr. was around. He did his things at his rancho and left civilians alone. After Jr. took over, the chief of police was killed in Mexticacan. They busted several meth labs in the area that I believe belonged to CDS. Jr. might have been branching out into meth. After Sr.s' death, homicides and disappearances went through the roof and the homicides were more dramatic leaving bodies in bags along the side of the roads, etc. This never would have occurred if Sr. was still alive.
The two main families in the area are the Sandovals and the Jaurequis. You most likely are related to one of these families if not both.
Historically, the local drug traffickers in the area began moving marijuana more than 50 years ago. They didn't get involved in cocaine until they became involved in CDS. I believe Sr. was primarily involved in marijuana and cocaine trafficking. I'm not sure if Jr. is the cause of the violence, but the area certainly has heated up since he took over. The CJNG moving in has turned the area into a warzone.
If you could safely gather any information while you are there and post it here, it would be greatly appreciated.
Please be safe while there and don't put your family in jeopardy.

  2. The kidnappers are all heavily armed and outnumbered the victims more than 3 to 1. They are really brave when they are armed and their victims are unarmed. Let's see how brave they are when it's the other way around.
The best defense against a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. Arm the law abiding citizens of Mexico so they can protect themselves from these clowns.
The cartel probably kidnapped them to do technical work, most likely installing or disabling cameras. They don't have much better than a 50% chance of surviving the ordeal.

    1. Random shit happens 1vs1 style IF even then.

I lived the underground life for 15 years (or more, depends how you calculate it) and every time I had to handle the business as in protect my assets, get debts back or whatever my/our life needed to be done, IT NEVER WAS 1vs1 THEN, it was always minimum 3 of us.
It's not about bravery I too had fearless reputation but it doesn't go all the way, point is we had to get things done QUICK, when we wanted and where we wanted.
We didn't have paid police or anything like that here, I just doesn't work like that here.

Its truly dog eat dog game, I got PTSD for years after I jumped out and I can assure you it took hard work to get to live normal life after that.

Really, I'm in frustrated tears many times I see kids doing even more stupid shit than I did but I know they don't listen to me they have to beat their head against the wall on their own and learn.

    3. 100 % agree with you.
Like you said the criminals are heavily armed and very easy to kidnap whomever they want since they carry no weapons. About 3years ago Mexican Congress member want to pass that citizens to have guns, but only limited to a 38. That never passes , therefore if the criminals carry guns, then citizens should be allowed to carry guns for self defense.
Unfortunately Obradors government does not want citizens to have guns.
      The killings will continue.
Cartels need to be killed, when they are in a convoy.

Best thing would be no weapons for anybody, or at least restrict the sales to really responsible adults, and if Cancún Ted Kruzinsky gets enraged and wants to eat his Gonzalez Flag Boots full of shit, I mean Tejano BullShit, so be it.

    2. Napoleon was of average height, it is a misconception that he was short. The global mean for the height of men today is about 5'7, he was about 5'6 200+ years ago. So he probably was considered average, if not a bit tall, for his time and geographic location. Also, his army invaded Russia in early June. As did Hitler's. The phrase "Napoleon complex" has no real meaning and the idea that Napoleon and Hitler lost wars because they invaded Russia in the winter are historically inaccurate.

    3. Maybe in China and Mexico average height is 5’7”. Average height in France is 5’11” boy.

    5. well I agree. Almost every cartel animal I have seen photos of is very short and out of shape. Average height in UK and northern Europe is well above 5'10". Even the Italians and French are giants compared to these guys. Take away their guns and they would be helpless in a fight. I call it short man syndrome taken to extremes. Combined maybe with some deranged brain function and legacy culture from the aztecs. But I find it hard to believe that all Mexicans are like that. Just these scum from the bottom of the genetic and social barrel. Average earnings, education level and success in life correlates directly with height. Take a walk around a bad neighbourhood then a wealthy one if you doubt it

Americans have proven themselves on the battlefield again and again for more than 200 years. There's a reason that almost every country in the world wants to be friends with the U.S. Look at what's happening in Europe. Since the invasion of Ukraine everyone wants to join NATO. If the U.S. wasn't a part of NATO, they would be less enthused to join NATO. They are seeking the protection of the U.S. not NATO.
Race doesn't matter when it comes to strength and courage. Americans of all races, to include Mexican-Americans, have proven themselves on the battlefield again and again. The nazis thought they were superior. How is believing in La Raza different from believing in German superiority? If the "Raza" is so "dangerous", why are they all snitching on one another? Any theory of superiority of race, to include La Raza, is a farce and any one who believes in La Raza is fool. Society will be a better place when all humans put theories of racial superiority behind us.

It looks like you have a very interesting story to tell. You should share this with the youth to deter them from taking the same path.
Many people have successfully walked away from this lifestyle. I appreciate you divorcing yourself from this lifestyle and wish you the best in your new found freedom.

It makes sense since i saw a video leaked yesterday where cjng sicarios are breaking into abandoned houses claimed to be used by cds in valpa. How they had time to do all that without them knowing does say they have an agreement of some sort
