In Sonora, The Largest Seizure Of Ammunition In History

 "Ivan" for Borderland Beat

Mexico City. The Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) seized nearly three million cartridges for various firearms, which, it stated, constitutes the largest seizure of ammunition in the country's recent history. Most of the seized stockpile is US-made.

The events occurred during an operation carried out, together with the National Guard (GN) and members of the Attorney General's Office (FGR), in four buildings located in Navojoa, Sonora, occupied by members of a criminal organization.

Among the insured are 2,829,950 cartridges of various calibers, 128 long weapons, 89 grenades, 38 short weapons, 19 machine guns, 6 .50 caliber rifles, 1 submachine gun, 14,722 magazines and 100 ballistic plates.

The SEDENA did not report any detainee in this operation.

Everything secured was presented to the state delegation of the FGR to start the corresponding investigation folder.

    1. Your site hasn’t updated in 8 months or so. You done with it or just taking a break? You got some good stuff on there. I just found out about it! You really should bring your information onto this site and have like your own category, that would be epic!

    2. Thanks, I appreciate it! My goal is to help inform about the drug war and organized crime in Mexico. I realized that having the best information all in one place is a better method of achieving that goal. I dont update the site anymore, so all research I am doing is posted here on Borderland Beat. Life has been busy right now, but as soon as I can post original content it will be here!

    1. It's serious suspect. I mean some of the brownings were brand new in their case. So they can't claim that they're getting them from our citizens or second amendment, those are obviously made after the 1986 ban. I'm not even going to get into the grenades. Almost like the US government is back at it again.
