Gunmen Attack Police Headquarters in Carichí, Chihuahua, as Retaliation for H7's Arrest

In addition to the police station, the Carichi Public Library and the Municipal Rent Collection office were also damaged.
During the early hours of this Monday, a group of armed assailants arrived in Carichi, Chihuahua and attacked the Municipal Police headquarters.

Local reports say that the attack happened at around 1:00AM, and that gunmen shot at the facility over 100 times before setting it on fire.

The property was severely damaged from the outside. Several vehicles, including a police unit and an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), were destroyed by the heavy gunfire. One officer who was at the site was injured after a bullet scrapped his arm. He was reported in stable condition.

Secretary of State Public Security Emilio García Ruiz said that this was an "act of revenge" for the arrest of high-ranking La Linea member Juan Romero Manjárrez Alonso, alias "El H7", who was arrested last week in Chihuahua city.

García Ruiz added that an operation has been arranged in that area to search for those responsible for the attack. He pointed out that personnel from the Mexican Army, the National Guard and the State Investigatory Agency (AEI) were also dispatched to help in the search.

Juan Romero Manjarrez Alonso alias "El H7"
Notable figure: H7
El H7 is one of the Manjárrez brothers who leads La Línea group called "Los H's". The arrest of this criminal leader took place at approximately 2:00am this Friday, June 9, 2021, at a hotel where El H7 was staying in Chihuahua city. The State Attorney General's office reports that El H7 was located after almost two years of intelligence and surveillance.

The arrest warrant against him alleges that El H7 was involved in the homicide of four state police officers that occurred in 2018. The quadruple homicide reportedly results from an ambushed launched on state officers by a group of heavily armed cartel members attacked them with high powered rifles and grenade launchers.

In addition to the crime involving four state police, there are charges of homicide, attempted homicide, damages with aggravated penalty and organized crime. The State Attorney General indicated that this subject, if a judge finds him guilty, may face a sentence of more than 100 years in prison.

    1. Actually if they shoot at the police, I am sure the police will have to shoot back, if they do shoot to kill, not to wound.

    2. You would know this how?

    3. All police shoot to kill, except in the movies. Training dictates aiming for "center mass" (chest) until the threat is neutralized. Or aim for head if subject is wearing a vest. That's how it is in the real world...

    4. This is true. People always say ' why didn't the cop just shoot ' em in the leg to stop them (in the states). Well, they are taught kill shot only. There is some 'reason' for this I was told, but completely forgot.

  7. Kathi, while the comments are open to all... go for Quality over Quantity; it's a bit excessive and not all of your posts add anything to the discussion. I don't mean to come across as rude, I'm glad you enjoy the site:)
