Buenavista, Michoacán: Blockades, Ditches In The Road, Shootings And a Missing Former Self-Defense Member

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Since the afternoon of this Sunday, social networks have been warning to avoid traveling on the Apatzingán-Buenavista highway

This Sunday afternoon, a climate of tension was unleashed in the municipality of Buenavista, since the road that leads to Apatzingán has been blocked, in addition to the fact that, with machinery, civilians have dug trenches to prevent passage.

Unofficially, it has been reported that the disappearance this Sunday of Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez, El Kiro, relatively close to "Abuelo" Farías and founder of the self-defense groups in Tepalcatepec, would have triggered the clashes and blockades.

First, it was reported that on the Apatzingán-Buenavista highway, near the community of San Juan de los Plátanos, a group of people had used several vehicles to block the road, the reasons for this being unknown at first.

Later another report was given, that civilians had dug trenches across the same road, but this time near Santa Ana Amatlán, Buenavista municipality. But in addition, it was reported that armed confrontations were already taking place between groups of civilians in the area.

Hours later, there was a shooting, of which no further details were given, in addition to a vehicle blockade and the burning of wood in the vicinity of Las Delicias.

People who reported this point out that the conflict has escalated, the recommendation is to avoid traveling through the area. On the other hand, unofficial sources have mentioned that security corporations from the three levels of government have already mobilized to the area.

Missing, founder of self-defense groups and his family

This Sunday, relatives and residents of Tepalcatepec, Michoacán, reported the disappearance of one of the three founders of the self-defense movement in the entity.

Reports indicate that Ángel Gutiérrez Aguilar, El Kiro, was traveling with his family from Tepalcatepec to Apatzingán, where he was going to attend a medical consultation.

El Kiro contacted one of his relatives and the inhabitants of Tepalcatepec to notify them that an armed group was following him in the municipal seat of Buenavista.

The sources consulted indicated that this was the last time they had communication with the elderly man, a cattle rancher.

Representatives of the armed civil struggle of Tepalcatepec and of different municipalities threatened to travel to the place of the alleged disappearance to search for him.

They blamed Santiago Quintero Magallón, El Maguey, head of the plaza in the municipal seat of Buenavista for the disappearance.

Self-defense groups of Tepalcatepec and six other municipalities warned that if Ángel Gutiérrez does not appear, they will break into El Maguey's lair to rescue El Kiro.

El Kiro contacted one of his relatives and the inhabitants of Tepalcatepec to notify them that an armed group was following him in the municipal seat of Buenavista.

Who is El Kiro?

Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez Aguilar, El Kiro, is originally from the La Soledad ranch, in the municipality of Tepalcatepec, and one of the three main founders of the self-defense groups.

His work was crucial in forming the first two groups of armed civilians who were born in Michoacán, along with Hipólito Mora Chávez, from La Ruana, and Juan José Farías Álvarez, El Abuelo, from Tepalcatepec.

El Kiro was one of the characters who on February 24 took up arms against the criminal siege of the Los Caballeros Templarios cartel.

  3. Nothing to see here folks. Just the typical Michoachangos terrorizing their own communities. Basically shitting where they sleep. It won't be long before they do the same to your families home state, after all you see the michoapochos who come on here bragging about how many territories they're "gaining". Bola de gente corriente. Michoacans worst enemy is the Michoachango himself.

Got his ass beat by a Michoacano for talking shit and doesn't do a dam thing about it but spend his days crying on BorderlandBeat. This guy puts his sinaloa people to shame.

    2. ¿"Michoachangos y Sinachangos"? ¡Hablen bien cabrones! Seguramente son un par de pochos que festejan más un "5 de maio" que un 16 de Septiembre🇲🇽.
Nobody (that speaks perfect spanish) uses those words as an insult btw.

    3. Michoachangos have a response for everything except for the facts. You point out how shitty their state is by bringing up current events and their response is always name calling. They can't face the facts. You cheerleaders are in denial. Plain as that. Look at the destroyed roads, burnt transportation buses, no electricity, damaged cell phone towers, extortion against the avocado and lemon growers, autodefensas support the cartels, the towns people greet the national guard with rocks and green avocados, destroy one helicopter pad and a separate military base and then turn around and accuse the president of not helping. Michoacans worst enemy is the michoachango... The funny thing is they assume everyone who hits them with the truth is a "CDS GROUPIE" it's not just the snitchaloans who don't like Michoachangos. Guanajuato, zacatecas, Tijuana, Jalisco, Nayarit and the list continues. You monkey's don't realize it but you're just as loud and Obnoxious as the Sinaloa's. Pura gente corriente arguendera 🦧👊🏽💥

The crooked police and MILITARY are helping CU/VIAGRAS.
CJNG shot and injured a main Viagra founder, they transferred him to a hospital

    6. 1128 supposedly C.U used that kidnapping to justify they're incursion into buenavista, when in reality CJNG-MAGUEY didn't kidnap anyone.

    7. @11:54 PM 200 Zetas from Oaxaca and other states funded by Z43 in Michoacán for Exchange. Imagine that how low CU gone that they ask the zetas for help lol 400 people against 20 cjng LoL

      Delete
    8. @11:28 the pretext to attack Maguey and Buenavista is that "KIRO" and his family are missing and he's a lawful "Autodefensa" member. Dude was last seen at Hipólito Mora ranch when all the Jefes of factions of CU were meeting, it's bullshit he was picked up by Maguey or his people. If CU takes over Buenavista a Zeta by the name of Nene Contreras is going to become plaza boss as requested by JMGV/Z43 who has allied himself with Abuelo. This individual has dual nationality as he was born in California and I think was recently extradited. Also MATM/Z40 is supposedly currently incarcerated in Buenavista and maybe this blitzkrieg is to free him from there. To those that pay attention "El Warache" was an emissary of CU trying to get an agreement to pass product through Reynosa and hence why he was meeting with "Choco M90" in Monterrey, which is supposedly controlled by CDN. By killing both of them, Primitos Metros temporarily foiled a plan that would have those POS comandantes in Reynosa switching sides since those POS are not narcotraficantes and could potentially ally themselves with CDN. I've said it before, Michoacános have been in Tamaulipas for decades both being a source of supply and trafficking with CDG and why the Zetas currently have a presence in Michoacán, Z43 and his cousin "El Amarillo" are from there. Sometimes they're enemies, sometimes they're allies with those who are trying to save their ass. Fuck those traitors. If Maguey and his people can survive and be strategic until the federal forces have to be "On Duty" and respond to the insecurity or hopefully remove themselves from the area, the backup that arrives for Maguey better bring plenty of ammo.

    9. 11;28 They captured him before and Maguey was told to let him go now or we going to rain on y’all and thats where we are today

    10. 3:35
You obviously have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re saying cdg and cdn can potentially ally? You’re full of shit, cdg and cdn have been at war for the frontera chica for years!!! You have got to be kidding me and plus primitos faction is allied with cjng whether it’s just to supply them with the Reynosa plaza to pass drugs like some people stated or to actually support them in the fight which there’s been some videos and pictures of cjng in Reynosa even with cjng members posing with dismembered bodies of the cdn in Reynosa. Try again

      Delete
    11. 7:34 lmao and you really think he let him go? That’s like CU catching M2 and cjng telling them to let him go or it’s gonna get bad, you think they’ll do it? CJNG has been hitting CU hard and people are so hard headed they don’t want to believe it when the evidence is there and plus CU is killing their own with that explosive killing 4 of their own and injuring la teresa one of the Santana brothers and main leader of the viagras

      Delete
    12. @10:07 you must have a short memory. Some Reynosa comandantes had already flipped on Primito and you fail to take into account with who and where M90 was negotiating. Think critically. But before you learn that read slower so you can comprehend what I'm writing and you won't "thunk" I wrote something different.

      Delete
    13. 3:35 yes and the ones who flipped no longer operate in Reynosa. How stupid are you to really think cdn will ally with cdg? Cdg will ally with zve before they even think about cdn. Don’t “thunk” to hard I know it hurts you and plus you do it for no reason since you feed nothing but garbage. Just stay quiet

      Delete
    14. @9:29 Pezón doesn't operate in Reynosa? Before being killed M90 no longer had connections and influence with other Reynosa comandantes? No Zetillas covertly setting up shop around Reynosa? I'm specifically talking about Metros, not Contador/Matamoros who had or has contact with ZVE. Like I've already wrote, learn to read slower so you can comprehend what you read Young Buck, you might be surprised if you keep on assuming😝 shit but you might already get down like that so it's no biggie🤣.

Tepalcatepec, la ruana, los reyes, botos people and the viagra brothers people have token buenavista they raided houses, shot up others, they cut of roads or theyve set up checkpoints, so, No CJNG reinforcements coming in anytime soon, this might be the end for the righteous maguey. ...

  11. QUESTION? What ever happened with the 600 or 1200 ' troops' the government sent in about a month ago. My numbers may be way off, but it was a significant amount. So, any ideas where they went or if they are still there? I 'heard' the troops were going to stay for an extended period of time...any ideas? Thanks, MS.h

    1. 12:09 AM AMLO says they sent x number of troops they only send a small amount and pocket the money of the other troops they didn't send. They have to put salaries ect. to the side the budget ect they pocked the majority of the money. The troops they send in Michoacan for the most part work under the orders the Carteles Unidos. They provide security ect. For example right now in Buenavista the State police, GN and Sedena have check points all around Buanavista to prevent CJNG from sending reinforcements to Maguey.

  17. The Carteles Unidos [Viagras / Abuelos/ Templarios/Blancos de Troya] strategy is to Kidnap their own Narco leaders who used to proclaim to be Autodefensas and then use that as a pretext to raid towns with the Help if the Guardia Nacional who is corrupt just like all Mexican institutions. The problem is that CJNG WILL WAIT UNTIL it’s safe to attack.

    1. The problem is, from my pov that cjng hasn't forged any strong bonds with authorities or influential politicians, C.U has had the best relationship with authorities throughout the whole war apparently, or it may be just numbers, as CJNG is fighting entire towns practically- take tepalcatepec for instance, when hell breaks out, all men take up arms not just abuelos gunners, I remember hearing it from maguey on a live talking about the A.D days he said that when autodefensas were out on patrol the numbers would rage from 150-300 gunmen, he said like that the caballeros templariòs wouldn't even wanna fight them, maybe its that, how many gunmen can CJNG have in Michoacan? If c.u starts operating like autodefensas back in the day, cjng will just be a caballeros templariòs 2.0....

C.u have became to sneaky, they have check points, barricades, authorities, bunkers, while CJNG in its bestest Coordinate attack couldnt penetrated tepalcatepec.
