400 Forced From Their Homes by the CJNG in the Last 2 Weeks

"MX" for Borderland Beat

'We were displaced … without knowing the reason or the motives,' said Rafael, an El Maguey, Jalisco, resident forced out of town at gunpoint. 'Since the Jalisco New Generation Cartel people came, we started living through a true hell'

The Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) has forced more than 400 people out of their homes in two communities in Jalisco and Michoacán.

According to a report by the newspaper El Universal, members of about 80 families in El Maguey, a town in the Jalisco municipality of Quitupan, and El Lobo in Cotija, Michoacán, were ordered out of their homes at gunpoint by presumed CJNG criminals during the past two weeks.

Rafael, one of those who was forced to leave, told El Universal that he and his family went from having a calm and productive life at home to being unable to afford to eat.

“We were displaced by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel without knowing the reason or the motives,” he said, adding that some 150 residents of El Maguey were forced out of their homes on a single night. Rafael, whose family worked in agriculture, said that a group of armed men broke into his home and those of others in the community and pointed their weapons at residents, including children, women and seniors, as they ordered them to abandon their dwellings.

He said the cartel members threatened to kill them if they didn’t obey their orders. Rafael also said that the residents of El Maguey are good people who don’t owe the CJNG anything.

“It’s an incredible thing that we can’t yet get over. We lived really comfortably, very calmly, but they changed our lives overnight without any reason,” he said. Rafael, whose 20-year-old nephew was killed by suspected CJNG gunmen, and many other El Maguey residents are currently taking refuge in the municipality of Los Reyes, but some are considering seeking asylum in the United States.

Rafael’s brother told El Universal that he is now in a precarious situation, explaining that although he is safe, he has had to start his life from scratch and struggles to pay for everyday expenses.

“I want it to be known that since the Jalisco New Generation Cartel people came [to the community], we started living through a true hell,” he said.

He said that his father died of grief because he had to leave the life he had built over decades in El Maguey. He also said that he could be tempted to take up the fight against the CJNG himself, if he could afford to buy weapons.

Luis, another displaced resident, said that federal authorities have done nothing to stop the illicit activities of the CJNG even though there is a National Guard base in Cotija, which borders Quitupan.

“They [the guardsmen] don’t do anything. … They even protect the Jalisco cartel,” he said, adding that members of the two organizations have been seen together.

“… What hope do we have to live in peace, what hope do we have that this forced displacement won’t happen in other places?”

The CJNG, one of Mexico’s most powerful and violent criminal organization, has recently expanded its influence in parts of Michoacán, including Aguililla, the birthplace of the cartel’s leader, Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes.

The cartel has reportedly seized that municipality by driving out other criminal groups such as the Cárteles Unidos (CU). The CJNG reportedly killed 26 members of the CU last month in Aguililla; national media outlets said that the official toll was of at least 8.

  2. Se va poner buena la cosa! I heard there is gonna be a big war coming up, that’s why CJNG is forcing people out their homes! C.U is asking help from Sinaloa to confront CJNG in Michoacán. CDS is sending its troops from Sonora , Chihuahua , Durango , Sinaloa , Baja CA. Meanwhile CJNG is also gathering people from states like Guanajuato, Nayarit , etc. CJNG is also recruiting people on Social Media paying them $8k pesos to join the filas. So there will be a Big Clash coming up amigos. It’s gonna be like the clash of the titans , Godzilla vs Kong. Who will win .....??? Grab your popcorn!🍿😁

    2. Shut up, honestly people like you are no better than the actual cartels themselves. You think this is one big joke while hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives, their loved ones? You’re truly a piece of crap man.

    3. 12:02 PM You are full of it. What is happening in Michcoan is simple the Carteles Unidos are afraid of CJNG. The battles that have taken place shows us they can't hang with them.

Carteles Unidos don't need the Snitchaloas they have the Sedena, Semar, GN, State Police and the SSP on their side. We are already seeing Carteles Unidos fracture.

Tena Templario are fighting the Pulidos Chocomiles de Tepeke in Aquila because they killed his brother el Chuy Playas. The viagras from Ario de Rosales are fighting the Templarios de Nazario Moreno in Ario. Kike Plancartes Templarios people who work for Alberto Espinoza Barrón are killing Nazarios People in Morelia.

The Templarios from Urupan and the Viagras are fighting there.

El Migueladas is fighting the Viagras near Nueva Italia. The Viagras de Churumuco are fighting EL Migueladas from what is said Churumuco flipped on the Viagras and joined El Jardineros crew.

Lalo Mantecas in Zitacuaro and the Correas in Ciudad Hidalgo are fighting CJNG.

In Aguillila El M2 is smashing on the Viagras bad only thing stopping him from taking the whole municipality is the Sedena.

El Maguey has Buenavista on lock no viagras or chocmiles go into that town and he doesn't even have that many people around 100 people.

One big push into Los Reyes and the Chocomiles will run and hide in the caves then their papa GN will come to save them. In Zamora CJNG is surrounding that town waiting for the big push once the government changes. No more support for the Gallinas Unidas.

CJNG wants Michocan for the extortion, mines, drug shipment points, drug production, they also want revenage for the disrespect the bajadores chapulines showed.

People from Jalisco tell us how it is does CJNG extort in your town? DO they kiddnap innocent people? Are they lacras the same way the Carteles Unidos are?

  7. El Universal has been publishing propaganda like the stuff Telemundo was doing for months. They are receiving money from Poncho to run propoganda and lies. Whicho and Poncho are forcing avocado farmers to hand over their lands and Avocado packaging facilities used to export avocado.

Cotija ia controlled by CJNG but the people of Los Reyes are able to get into the town because they have the GN or the state police escort them there go past the town will they kill who they need to kill.

    2. 2:03 PM I don't feel like looking for them look around and find them Look up los reyes, cotija ect. Look at their articles they are calling Tepaltepec and Los Reyes Autodefensas.

Whicho el de los reyes brother of Poncho's wife killed the doctor who filmed himself banging one of his sisters in Cotija the videos were posted on xvideos. Their is one where Ponchos wife is filmed sucking the paleta and pushing a car in Cotija. Plenty of evidence that the military and GN supports the Carteles Unidos. Plenty of evidence that the media supports Carteles Unidos. Their is a video where a man they call tata is saying they are protecting their community ect that Cartel Jalisco is extorting Los Reyes and Periban. Their is a picture of Whichos brother with a rolex he took from one of the Pulidos who's avocado packaging center they burned and who is still missing.

  11. Problem is weapons are illegal in Mexico.

Other countries provide them with powerful weaponry and Mexican citizens are the ones who get screwed and pay the price.

  12. This story doesn’t make any sense from El Universal. The ranch of El Maguey in Jalisco near Ocotlán and Tepetitlán isn’t even near Quitupan. The area was heavily fought over a couple of years ago before the split by Los Templarios de Zamora. El maguey isn’t even a strategic ranch as well. Yurecuaro was in total control of LFM but now it’s still being fought over LNFM/Viagras/CU vs CJNG. It wasnt rare and I doubt it’s rare now to see those groups in each other’s backyard. It seems a little fishy to me but I’ll ask around tomorrow morning.

      Delete
    2. @12:42 Se te olvidó Ecuandureo, but yeah since Pelón Marin got locked up and they killed his boss la Sopa de Los Viagras, LNFM got wiped out, they receded back to Zamora from that area. From What I know CJNG has from la Piedad going west to Yurecuaro, Tanhuato, Ixtlan, Vista Hermosa, Sahuayo, Ecuandureo, till you hit about Zamora then it’s LNFM/Viagras del Ratón y del Yupo. I don’t support any cartel but honestly I think we were better off when el Gordo aka el de la Hummer and his Templarios had control in our town.

      Delete
    3. @6:06 I feel you, I'm from around those areas too and I have experienced the drastic change of "management" at the Michoacán and Jalisco borders.

The readers have no idea on how the CJNG has gotten things fucked up at most places.
