Villa de Cos, Zacatecas: 4 State Policemen Killed By Organized Crime Group

Four Elements of the State Preventative Police (PEP) were killed when they became victims of an ambush by armed subjects on Thursday afternoon.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m. on the state highway that connects the communities of Chupaderos and Chaparrosa, there was an armed confrontation between elements of the PEP and armed civilians belonging to a criminal group, where four policemen died at the scene.

The PEP soldiers, who were conducting surveillance patrols, were intercepted by heavily armed people who immediately attacked them with high-caliber weapons, causing the patrol to go off the road completely engulfed in flames, their crew members could not get out of the police unit.

It was the same elements attacked who requested the support of their comrades via radio, a strong convoy of both State Police and Metropolitan Police elements quickly mobilized to the scene of the attack. In addition, two helicopters of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) immediately began air patrols to try to find the whereabouts of those responsible for this attack.

The strong deployment of the police extended to the state limits of San Luis Potosí for more than two hours. There was no official word if any arrests were achieved.

According to sources close to the investigation, it emerged that, as a result of the strong operation mounted in that region, a couple of hours later, seven people in possession of weapons and vehicles with the characteristics of the aggressors were captured in the community of Pozo de Gamboa. However, the authorities have not issued any position regarding this attack.

Investigative Police (PI) were also present along with paramedics and firefighters from the State Coordination of Civil Protection (PC) who controlled the fire in the truck. For their part the paramedics could do nothing for the four PEP elements who were identified as ; Carlos Emilio, Julio César, Alexander and Juan Francisco.

Finally, with the help of a Road Safety Police crane, who also went to the scene to provide support for the search of the aggressors, they removed the burned patrol. While experts from the Zacatecano Institute of Forensic Sciences (IZCF) carried out the removal of the bodies of the deceased officers.

  3. Emoscados that wasn't an Emoscada that was a stright up shootout where the police panicked and ran off the road. I don't know if that was CJNG or CDN this goes to show that if the government doesn't have the massive numbers they always have they get their ass kicked. You can see any video of a shoot out against the government and it is always 10 to 1.

PEP choosing sides and then getting their ass beat. Same way they caught the lone pick up truck they also died. This was obvious the snitchaloas were going to have the PEP do the fighting and dying for them once they felt the tip they said no more. Expect the Guardia National/ Sedena/ Semar and the SSP sending in helicopters the same stratagy the Chocomiles jotos de los carteles unidos is starting to be used in Zacatecas. La Buchonas de la snitchaloas no son hombres son jotos.

now they blame the cartels and the criminals "where the buck stops"?
We are not obligated to drink their brew of lies and excuses.

  8. Damn that sucks. Finally the news say that when they called for backup, police from different agencies responded quickly, Sadly theres way too many times where articles about cops being attacked, the calls for backup are ignored and never arrive.

In this video you can see we’re this event took place . It would be very hard for back up to arrive . This rural areas are so far apart from the city that an ambush or a shoot out with any organize crime will result in something like this .
