Jesús Eduardo Osuna operated under the wing of Carlos Adrián Casas Reyes, alias the “El Mercenario”. He had a relevant position within the Sinaloan criminal organization.

A confrontation between agents of the Public Prosecutor's Office and criminals, among whom was Jesús Eduardo Osuna, alias “Osuna” , alleged operator of theSinaloa Cartel, unleashed terror on Monday in the streets of Ensenada, Baja California , in northern Mexico, this is late January 2021.

Uncertainty and chaos took hold of this port city and spread throughout the state as images of the shooting spread through social networks.

A confrontation between agents of the Public Prosecutor's Office and criminals, among whom was Jesús Eduardo Osuna, alias “Osuna” , alleged operator of theSinaloa Cartel, unleashed terror on Monday in the streets of Ensenada, Baja California , in northern Mexico.

At first, an operation was reported on Ramírez Méndez y Reforma Boulevard. Local media reported that in Arroyo Ensenada at Calle Ocho y Mar the agents started a shooting. The crash resulted in one element downed and one more injured. The victims belonged to the Tijuana Anti-Kidnapping Group.

On Tuesday afternoon, in an impromptu press conference, the Baja California State Attorney General's Office (FGEBC) reported that during the operation  “Osuna” was arrested, who has been identified as one of the main generators of violence. Ensenada, and a priority objective of the state authorities.

This direct attack by the drug trafficker to the security forces underscores the deep crisis of violence in which the city of 466,814 inhabitants finds itself. Ensenada is a center of economic activity and criminal gangs fight to control the sale of drugs and the increasingly lucrative branch of extortion.

The upsurge in violence in Ensenada, according to the local weekly Zeta Tijuana , is linked to the fight between criminal gangs. The media indicates that David López Jiménez's operators are inviting and threatening criminals in the service of Carlos Adrián Casas Reyes, alias "El Mercenario" , head of the Sinaloa Cartel in the city.

As part of the struggles between the two criminal cells, charred, decapitated and dismembered bodies have appeared in different areas of Ensenada. At least three of these findings have taken place in the downtown area, a few meters from the building of the Municipal Public Security Directorate (DSPM) and the offices of the FGE investigation units, on Calle Novena and Espinoza.

"Osuna" would work under the wing of Carlos Adrián Casas Reyes, known as the "Mercenario . " According to intelligence reports, the person involved would have an important position within the Sinaloa Cartel.

Jesús Edurado Osuna is related to the murder of the prosecutor's agent, Manuel Avendaño Rojas in May 2020, in Ensenada . On June 17 of last year, he was arrested and later released - on a technicality - two days after his transfer to Tijuana , Baja California.

On the day of his capture, the "Osuna" was sheltered in a safe house, located on Calle Octava, number 1216, in the Obrera neighborhood. Upon arriving at the site, the elements - who had a search warrant - were received with bullets.

Faced with the criminal actions, the troops repelled the aggression. According to reports, at the time of their arrest, the armed forces were threatened by telephone :"Right now they let me go to Osuna or the fucking will see them ...", the gunmen of the criminal leader warned by telephone.

The upsurge in violence in Ensenada, according to the local weekly Zeta Tijuana , is linked to the fight between criminal gangs. The media indicates that David López Jiménez's operators are inviting and threatening criminals in the service of Carlos Adrián Casas Reyes, alias the "El Mercenario" , head of the Sinaloa Cartel in the Buenos Aires city.

On January 16, Zeta Tijuana reported on the discovery of a drug message, in the fence of a property located on Calle Alvarado, between Diez and Once in the Central Zone. It was the fourth narcomanta in 2021, aimed at people who commit crimes for the "Mercenary." Along with this was found a severed head and the following message:

“This is how all the ball of jotos who work for the Mercenary will be left or they will line up or they will all screw their mother: Susi, Zuly, Sombas, China, China, Karla Axel, Simpson. Atte. Ensenada Cartel ”[sic]

During the first two weeks of the year, in Ensenada 37 intentional homicides had been perpetrated, four of these against women. This figure surpasses the total number of murders committed in January last year, which accounted for 14 executions in the same period.

In Addition, Miguel Torres, "El Baster" was also Arrested in Tijuana, BC for Quadruple Murders:

On the afternoon of this Saturday, February 6, elements of the State Security and Investigation Guard (GESI) captured in Tijuana, Miguel Torres alias "El Baster" who was under an arrest warrant for the quadruple homicide committed "out of revenge" against María Teresa Nolasco Chávez, her partner Francisco Fajardo Lozano, Esmeldo Martínez Jaqués, 79, and a man still unidentified.

He is presumed innocent, as long as his responsibility is not declared by the judicial authority. Art.13, CNPP.

The facts that Torres is charged with were discovered on the morning of January 23, 2021, when police authorities were alerted, and they then found four bodies inside a barracks, located on Calle Santa Inés  on the corner of Calle Cerro de the Bells of the Francisco Villa ejido neighborhood, Florido-Mariano delegation in Tijuana. The bodies of the victims were handcuffed, tortured, he had put tape over their faces and a tourniquet around their necks to kill them.

The unidentified man was found only in one of the rooms, the same as the woman, Francisco Fajardo and Esmeldo Martínez were killed together, they were in another room. The woman's two young children were found unharmed, in a locked room in the same house.

Relatives of the couple formed by Teresa Nolasco and Francisco Fajardo, declared that they were both addicted to drugs, and had lived in that "barracks" for a long time, to which addicts entered and left every day.

According to the ministerial investigation, the main hypothesis indicates that the quadruple homicide was committed out of revenge against Esmeldo Martínez, because according to the information in possession of "El Baster", the 79-year-old man would be the alleged mastermind of the murder of his brother, whom so far he has only identified as "El Pato".

So far in 2021, 197 murders have been committed in Tijuana: 170 in January, and 27 in the first five days of February.
