The wife and sister of Genaro García Luna, former secretary of Public Security, would be involved in a triangulation of federal resources, said Santiago Nieto Castillo, head of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).

Interviewed in a forum convened by the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI), the head of the FIU, said that this information was the basis for the freezing of 11 accounts of natural and legal persons related to the triangulation of federal resources to García Luna accounts, according to the weekly Zeta.

“A sister and the wife [of the former federal official] are related because they appear in operations with transfers of resources […] We had found a transfer by public agencies to a company and hence triangulation to García Luna's accounts and that We will denounce in the near future before the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic [FGR] and that is what serves as a basis to maintain the blocking of Garcia Luna's accounts and these 11 people,” said Nieto Castillo.

The head of the FIU said that this Friday, December 13, the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) will report the total number of accounts and amounts, although he indicated that, for the moment, he cannot make known the related companies, to guarantee due process.

"The president [Andrés Manuel López Obrador] gave a very clear message that there was a review of whether there are people linked to acts of corruption, related to García Luna, who were still in office, we are going to continue with the investigation," said Nieto Castle.

  2. Telegraph your intentions and loose the element of surprise. Just do it and then say what was accomplished. Now, the corrupt ones are scrambling to hide money and assets.

  5. @2:13 PM:Good post. I too feel your angry disgust at the oligarchic levels in Mexico and incestuous relationships with crooks and government agents of all kinds.

About, the lady who sold chickens and was murdered, she creeps into my mind now and then... almost as a spiritual voice crying for justice a radical reforms in Mexico.
