This afternoon at the Journalists Club of Mexico, a press conference of the lawyers of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán was held, where they thanked President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for the release of Ovidio Guzmán , son of the prisoner drug dealer in the United States.

“ We have a human, Christian president, who finally, made the decision not to harm Ovid . It is a sign that this government of the fourth transformation makes structural changes in human rights,” they said.

"With great wisdom and justice, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador ordered that he be released , ie,  Ovidio Guzmán López" , those were the words of one of Joaquín's "El Chapo" Guzmán family lawyers during this conference held in Mexico City.

José Luis González Meza and Juan Pablo Badillo Soto, legal representatives of the family of “El Chapo” Guzmán, thanked López Obrador for the decision made yesterday, because they said, the life of innocent people was put first before everything else.

One of the lawyers stressed that Ovidio Guzmán López was not tortured "as was done before . " He also reported that the son of the boss was released around 8:00 p.m.

He also blamed the “enemies of the President for the fires in the streets of Culiacán and the rumors in social networks”.

They said they can give more information next week after they meet with the family once again.

They also said the stories  left out " how the army and police acted, you can see the difference of this government, in that there is no abuse of authority."

The lawyer Juan Pablo Badillo Soto revealed that the authorities who wanted to make the arrest did not have the location and presentation order for extradition purposes, so they could not arrest him.

Family lawyers of "El Chapo" announced that they have ready amparo trial against detention and possible extradition of Iván and Ovidio Guzmán.

He said that Guzmán López was deprived of freedom for five hours, which is unknown where he was transferred.

At the express question of a reporter, the lawyer said that the judicial mandate was issued for both Iván Archivaldo Guzmán and Ovidio Guzmán, both sons of “El Chapo” Guzmán.

In the same way, he revealed that he has ready an amparo trial against the same extradition orders that will be presented next week .

"The family of ''El Chapo'' is a Christian family and those who have gone to ask for help have had it," said the defender.

"I understand that he, ie Ovidio, was subjected to a deep interrogation and as a result of not finding enough crime elements to be able to arrest him, deprive him of his freedom, and by the superior order of the president he was released," he explained.

He highlighted the work of the authorities of not having applied in this case the famous "Fugitive Law", as was customary in previous administrations.

When they were questioned about whether "El Chapo" Guzmán already knew about Ovid's arrest, they declared that "he must know by now."

The lawyers also recalled that the family of the Mexican drug trafficker plans to build the first indigenous university in Badiraguato, Sinaloa.

They pointed out that for this project they will have the support of several foundations, and they expect President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to contribute by laying the first stone , together with María Consuelo Loera, the mother of the boss.

"The family of Chapo Guzmán and he , himself, 'El Chapo' Guzmán have decided to build the first indigenous university of Mexico in Badiraguato, so what we are waiting for is that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in the next trip to Sinaloa put the first stone together with the mother María Consuelo Loera Pérez ”, so they concluded the press conference.

  18. Those attorneys are forced to kiss ass, or they will be killed.. And consider the Chapo University just a tax, because it will be built from business owner's extortion money. Heck, they will probably extort the subcontractors that are hired to build it. If I were Mexican, I would blacklist that University.

    1. If the Mexican government had any moral values; no university by a serial killer would be accepted. Rather, from the Mexican government itself.

  22. Tax evasion laws are unheard of in this part of the world. Such blatant corruption and arrogance on behalf of the cartels. What a black eye for Mexico and its inhabitants..

  23. Now what do the other drug Lord's think?? Cause enough carnage, and they'll release you... Have your sixarios kill 1 innocent per day until they release you. This sets bad precedent

  24. Bad move. Goes to show how immature the bosses are. This should have been tucked away and hope a bigger scandal would happen to forget about this one. But once again the rumor is Mayo made a call and they released him. Now all if the kids are in debt to Mayo. If it weren’t for him he’d be apologizing in San Francisco before the court bit not before cooperating with authorities!

  25. Amazing. Not only is the country held captive by the Cartels they now have Stockholm Syndrome; including AMLO.

    ReplyDelete
  26. This is so unbelievably disheartening. I’ve seen countless comments about AMLO and his poems, but this dude is truly out of his fucking mind. Imagine all the innocents butchered or extorted, and these scum are the ones getting a presidential pardon.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Presidential pardons are given by all countries. The US has granted many officials with pardons for political reasons.

  27. I always thought the show Gotham got some of its ideas from stuff that had happened with the cartels

  28. If a criminal in the US takes a pretty blonde white family hostage and the cops decide to let him go instead of risking the death of innocent white civilians then the authorities are held as heroes and the criminal would just have eluded the cops. Oh but Mexico should go all out Rambo and kill every Mexican on sight to get the criminal the gringos want.

    1. I struggle to get your point.? What does skin color have to do with anything? I don't see anything other than crime and justice. Are we supposed to treat everyone differently based on their skin color? Why can't we all just get along!

      Delete
    2. The difference is that hostage situations in the US aren't likely to be conducted by transnational criminal organizations that can beat back the military and US law enforcement are a hell of a lot better at tracking down criminals than Mexican law enforcement is. Let me also point out that Ovidio is a criminal in Mexico and the US, and that he'd be under indictment in Mexico if Mexico's judicial system wasn't such a mess.

  29. he wants to thank Amlo for a decision that saves innocent lives? why didnt he instead ordered his men to not harm the innocent people? not steal their cars and burn their cars?. His people did it for him and he calls them enemies of the president, in short words, Amlo showed him friendship and he responds with Thank You im your enemy

    ReplyDelete
  30. This is just the PRI trying to imply that López Obrador is in with the cartels. Remember the new president's enemies are Mexico's elite and their goal is to taint him. However, most Mexicans are behind Obrador and all their tactics will fail. We will see more and more Morena governors and congressman in the future. These are desperate plots that will fail.

  31. Last name Lopez that's why

  32. Mexican government can't control what tht lawyers family say. The decision to set free chapo's son saved hundreds of life's. As this morning the support of Mexican people for it's president is clear. It was unnecessary a blood bath jut to make happy those who caused thousands of life's all over the country since 2006.
