A bag with 2,000 fragments of hand bones was found in a garbage bag in a dump
The State Brigade of Search for Missing Persons found more than 2,000 bone fragments, mostly phalanges, in Culiacán, Sinaloa; total could reach more than 5,000 bone fragments from 150 people.

Last weekend, authorities in Mexico found more than 2,000 fragments of hand bones. According to El Universal, the bones were in plastic bags that had been abandoned in a garbage dump of a private subdivision in the city of Culiacán, in the state of Sinaloa.

According to forensic analysis, some of the bone parts also correspond to foot bones and belong to adults, adolescents and children. “I can't believe they are human. There are so very many, ”says one of the experts of the investigation. At the moment the whereabouts of the other parts of the bodies are unknown.

People who belong to the State Brigade of Search for Missing Persons, they have not stopped looking for their relatives in drug-controlled areas in Culiacán, Sinaloa , as was so a few days ago when they found the macabre find: more than 2,000 fragments of hand bones .

On August 24, they found the largest number of bones that belonged to about 150 people, including children . The clandestine dump is located near the private subdivision La Primavera bags that contained the fragments of bones of hands and, apparently, also of feet, according to the forensic personnel of the area.

Alma Rosa Rojo of the organization of search for missing Hands United for life, told a local news outlet that it could even be up to 5,000 fragments , about 150 people, but experts are analyzing them.

The works were led by the State Commissioner of Search for Missing Persons, Juan Carlos Saavedra, who revealed that he had found an area that was apparently used as a clandestine cemetery, since there were thousands of phalanges and other remains in plastic bags.

"Who would determine the experts, and they will do the accounting of how many bone remains and how many phalanges there are, they will end how many people or how many hands were mutilated, " he said.

To the south of the municipality of Culiacán, in the vicinity of the residential complex La Primavera, they found three positive points, in the first one there was a complete corpse, in the second some skeletal remains and in the third plastic bags with phalanges of all sizes, the count preliminary indicated that there were more than 5,000.

The bags were degraded by water and sun , so some remains were scattered around, possibly also by some animals in the region.

In the area they also found several clothing items so they do not rule out that there may be more bodies in the surroundings , situation for which they will continue searching.

The finding was in charge of the State Brigade of Search for Missing Persons, made up of citizens trying to find the whereabouts of their loved ones. The group has been working since May 15, detecting mass graves, with the collaboration of the State Search Commission and the National and State Human Rights Commission.

In the last 20 years in Mexico, 57,861 people have been reported missing, according to a 2017 report by the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH).

  1. Very sad but not shocking. Ordinarily it would be shocking but Mexico has deteriorated to a point this is taken as disturbing and unfortunate.
*Many parents will be happy to know where their loved ones ended up.

  3. This is certainly one of the most bizarre cartel-related articles I've come across.

Gives much credence to those who say Sinaloa is no better than the other guys.

Why on earth would they do this? You go through so much effort to hide the bodies and dodge the heat only to ruin it in this manner...

    1. Sinaloa is an expert at hiding their crimes and silencing those that know the truth. This is why nobody "hears" bad stories about Sinaloa much less talk about these stories.

  8. You can only imagine the hundreds of thousands of bodies that were disposed of from people that came in from South of the Mexican border. I was reading somewhere that a few hundred thousand people migrating from south of the border have never been heard from again by their families after crossing into Mexico.

    1. There were also more than 300 people discovered buried in mass graves by CDS in Durango years ago. These fuckers far from only selling drugs kill in silence like no other cartel does. The problem is you never hear who they killed or why other than what the cartel wants you to know. Innocents or rape victims or outspoken political, religious public figures against them can be included mixed with all those found murdered in their territory.

  12. its a never ending story.
These missing people numbers are a way to small, 60.000 people in 20 years, no way! They will have killed more than 60.000 people from 2017 until christmas 2019. Its sad to say but 99% of them are dead. But despite this they must keep on searching and increase the pressure on the mex gob to take care of the mexican people.
As long as they are not burned, it should be possible to do DNA testing but it would be interesting to know somthing about the mexican DNA database. Does each state has its own or is it a central database? Because if i think about the trailers with bodies driven around i would have serious doubts about their capabilities of doing DNA testing.

  15. I wonder why only hand and foot bones were discovered? Maybe it's the killer's policy to specifically dump ALL victims body parts in different locations.

  17. This is just too strange. That's a lot of finger bones. Who is the demented sicario who did this?

I would really like to hear the backstory to this.

  18. Did anyone maybe think this could be disposals from morgue of the unidentified or unclaimed persons? Like those mobile refrigerated trucks with corpses stored in them. Maybe the state just got tired of storing them up for years. Just saying. Perhaps there are other bags of bones too.

  19. The fingers and feet are cut off so that you can't identify the body.
