Who is El Sapo or El 90 recruiter for CJNG

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Hugo Gonzalo Mendoza Gaytán, better known as El Sapo or El 90 is a member of the CJNG, however he is not just any member, since he is apparently the second in command in the hierarchy of the CJNG, one of the most powerful criminal groups of drug trafficking in Mexico and the World, according to a report by the U.S. authorities.

As reported El Sapo is just below Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho current leader of the criminal organization, so it is rumored that in the future El Sapo can become the leader of the CJNG.

El Sapo, in charge of recruiting

El Sapo is currently 30 years old, and despite his young age, is presumed to be the person in charge of controlling important areas in Mexico, such as Puerto Vallarta in the state of Jalisco.

According to some media, the right hand of El Mencho, works together with his wife, Iliana Rosas Camba, who would be in charge of managing the work of buying and selling as well as money laundering.

It is also said that El Sapo is in charge of recruiting new assassins for the cartel, whom he even recruits through Facebook ads.

They deceive people by offering them work

Through these publications they lie to people, offer them jobs as security guards and then turn them into hit men or kill them if they do not accept

According to El País, a survivor mentioned that El Sapo arrived in the Sierra Navajas, in Hidalgo, where they were trained, but after the arrival of the narco, everything became a massacre.

"That was the worst time in all my life. One day, the voice of El Sapo came in. And he said: Go ahead, you sons of bitches, who wants to leave? I'm going to give you 3,000 pesos and a house, and you can get the fuck out of here. And at that moment some began to raise their hands, warning them that they were safe. There were 3 from the State of Mexico, the chubby one who arrived with me. He told them: Well, let’s see assholes. Get up and fight everyone against everyone', and they started doing it; whoever fell would die "

The survivor also said that those who lost the battle were executed, as well as those who raised their hands believing that they would go home.

Of all the power they have, El Sapo and being allegedly the second in command, it is believed that at some point when El Mecho is missing, he could be the new leader of the CJNG.

  1. I can't wait to see video or read about his execution. Kidnapper, murderer of children, thief, extortionist. The devil on earth. May he feel great pain when his time comes.

  2. On the plus side, at least his name isn't El Muletas or Comandante Diablo like the other 937 narcos with those names.

    3. This is Borderland beats tenth article telling us who is #2 in the CJNG and all have been someone different. El 85 is the real leader of CJNG. The Cuinis are the leaders..Mencho is just head of security and CJNG fall guy. Why do you think the Cuinis stay out of the limelight? They are the real bosses of CJNG.
