Video: “El Marro's” Assets Frozen, Cartel Santa Rosa de Lima Crippled

Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: Milenio

José Antonio Yépez Ortiz, "El Marro" , is losing control of its financial and operational structure; he does not have the resources to operate, his accounts have been frozen and his ability to bribe authorities, pay hired assassins and buy off people from different regions of Guanajuato are practically exhausted.

Federal and state authorities confirmed to MILENIO that the offensive against "El Marro" has not stopped and, through intercepted communications, they have corroborated that the main operators of the Santa Rosa de Lima cartel are defecting, leaving the criminal leader isolated and vulnerable.

The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) keeps frozen 35,499,486.73 Pesos of the cartel led by "El Marro" -identified as a generator of violence and fuel theft in Guanajuato and "the King of Huachicoleo", money with which it paid protection and thus evade the authorities .

Of these accounts, the FIU froze, by direct nominees, 13,229, 192.38 Pesos, following a request to the National Banking and Securities Commission, for being linked to "El Marro" , his wife and his girlfriend; Another 22.7 million pesos were for movements of third parties, people who are related to the cartel.

With the Operation Golpe de Timón -which began in the first week of March, under the responsibility of the state government and with the support of the Navy- 14 properties of real estate, 129 vehicles, 28 long weapons, 18 handguns and two grenades have been confiscated from the cartel.

In addition, 62 people have been arrested or killed, including a municipal policeman from Irapuato, who provided information to the cartel, as well as operators, distributors and drivers, most of them with arrest warrants for homicide and kidnapping.

Also on June 19 Giovanny Martinez was killed in a confrontation with federal agents in Celaya, one of the operators of "El Marro" .

Among the buildings -where arms, vehicles, jewelry and drugs have also been found- La Fortaleza stands out , a property measuring 85 by 87 square meters, with 3 meter high walls and with all the luxuries for the capo and his family.
The residence has a pool, games, palapa and palm trees, two statues of lion and tiger, as well as a patio with pillars. Inside, the walls are purple with white furniture, pillars decorate the rooms as well as the heads of stuffed animals.

La Fortaleza is located in the community of Santa Rosa de Lima, in Villagrán, and it is currently a barracks of the National Guard, which joined the operations a few weeks ago; In that municipality four more properties were secured. (See Chivis post on this property)

In the municipality of Comonfort, a strategic property was also confiscated for the operation of the cartel, where an arsenal and tactical equipment with logos of the Criminal Investigation Agency, plus clothing and food were confiscated.

In addition, in the back there was an area with  buried bunkers full of long weapons and clandestine graves.
In Celaya five more houses were insured, some of two floors, with terraces, palm trees and marble finishes in exclusive subdivisions of the municipality.

During the operations were found 26 vests, one bulletproof , a ballistic plate, four pairs of tactical boots, 13 cloned uniforms, a ballistic helmet,  unladen chargers, 51 chargers of various calibers, 4,115 cartridges of various calibers. They also confiscated 300 grams of crystal , 148 kilos of marijuana, 2 kilos of cocaine, 114 wrappings with granulated substance with the characteristics of cocaine rock base three red blisters with 23 pills, 20 cocaine wrappings and 19 wrappings with crystal meth. Also, 24 watches, 11 chains, six charms, 27 rings, three pairs of earrings, a bracelet, a Centenary and 163, 850 Pesos in cash.

In these operations, the authorities reported that nine people deprived of their liberty were rescued in Santa Rosa de Lima, of which six have criminal records, so it is presumed that some of them belong to the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, with the that maintains a dispute over control of the entity.

One of the kidnap victims is a former municipal police officer of Juventino Rosas and was fired for abuse of authority; another one was an active element of the Uriangato police.

Among the 129 vehicles seized are a Porsche, three Mercedes-Benz, three Camaro, one Mustang, two Land Rovers, three BMWs and one Harley-Davidson motorcycle, 20 all-terrain vans/suvs, six tractors - two of them with tankers with illegal hydrocarbons -, a pipe, two trailers, a torton-type truck, seven Super Duty trucks, a tanker truck with hydrocarbon residues and six motorcycles, some with alteration in the identification numbers.

Yépez has been wanted since 2008 when he was arrested for the crime of robbery and organized crime, but was released after paying bail.

Yépez joined the huachicoleo activities , ie theft of hydrocarbons , under the command of David Rogel, "El Güero" . Little by little he was climbing the cartel ladder until in 2017 when he became the leader of the cartel.

    3. @11:15 If you had the government on your payroll why wouldn't you take advantage of that?
That closed minded mentality of yours is why you see this as "a bunch of jotos who cant fight their own battles".
Why waste men on marro when the government can do alot more damage with less.

  6. El Cholo and El Marro are the reason why Guanajuato & Guadalajara have become a war zone. Both kicked an all out war against CJNG and the results have been ugly. Hopefully both get captured soon!

  7. Pemex is used by the mx government to get money from the banksters to stabilize mx Economy and when you steal fuel you fuck up pemex and you fuck up the mx government. If you handle drugs you boost the economy except for meth sold locally.
That was his mistake, just sell drugs to the north and you are fine.

    1. I have been thinking that has something to with it myself. Let the drugs flow but don't stop the gas.

    2. Stealing "hydrocarburos" is the idea behind running PEMEX into the ground to come and save it with foreign loans and finally acquire it for peanuts, the way American businesses got sten since the 80s before exporting them to China.
Mexican oils PEMEX has always been dear to foreign investors, but they want it for free like Iran, Iraq, or Venezuela's

  12. Yet everyone was saying marro was going to kick mencho out that plaza.. common sense would tell you an international cartel will beat a local cartel...no brainer

  14. Santa Rosa Cartel is ghetto. That's about $3 million US. That should be nothing to a cartel. Ghetto assed cartel.

    2. I remember when Treviño 42 was caught he had like $2 million cash with him in a box. If this story about Marro is true, that a couple million bucks sinks him, then the Santa Rosa Cartel has just been lucky. It's a miracle he's lasted this long.

  17. It is a pity that the invisible paint on the huachicol vehicles stopped working, they even used the tankers to milk outlets in the distribution plants and to supply PEMEX gas stations, many of them owned by politicians of a persuasions, SOME by the Loret De Moolahs who are just only Chayotero journalists and at times honest writers like the original Carlos Loret de Mola who used to thrive on scandal if he had to invent it to make himself famous enough to collect CHAYOTE since the days of Diaz Ordaz...less remember the Guanajuato is where the fox family ruled for a long time, among them michakano criminals Bribiesca Brothers sons of "La Demonio" Martitha Sahagun niece of fired criminal policia judicial federal agent Francisco Sahagun Baca.
El Marro looks like just the Fall Guy, as always happens, the main movers and shakers never get caught, named, or persecuted.
By the way what happened to David "el Guero" Rogel?

  21. I feel like the Mexican government is scared of El Mencho. He threw a temper tantrum the last time they tried to catch him. Lit cities oh fire and as a result got his way like a kid in the grocery store who screams until his mummy gets him a candy bar.

The government seemed to be pretty close to him and now he's a ghost??? They had him boxed in but they're afraid he'll light more banks on fire...

Say what you will about the US and I'll most likely agree. But this wouldn't slide for a second in the US. Try shooting down a US helicopter in the state and let me know how it works out for you.

  23. He maybe going down, but he is defnitly taking the fight to San Miguel Allende. There has been LOTS of people killed this year and now your hearing automatic weapons at night. Marro people put up some mantas the other day saying 'salgale al topon atte gente de marro". Tiny ones actually. But you can def feel the fear in the air... Nobody wants to be driving around at night on the out skirts or even in las colonias during the day. Dam shame.
