Video Added: Tensions Run High in Veracruz over the Minatitlan Massacre

The State Prosecutor's Office confirms that the death toll of Friday's attack in the Minatitlan massacre of the family of "La Beky" is 13.

The tensions are  increasing before a few hours of the scheduled visit that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador  (AMLO) will make to the State today.

Mexico City, April 20 from SinEmbargo:

It is confirmed that the number of fatalities left by the attack that occurred on Friday night in a palapa party hall in Minatitlan, Veracruz, is 13. The massacre took place at  La Potra Palapa on Primero de Mayo street where the family of "La Beky" had gathered. She was the target of the attack.

Warning: graphic images on next page:

In the early morning it had been thought that Marcos Aurelio Davis Barrera had died, which would bring the death toll to 14;  he actually is still fighting for his life and is in the PEMEX hospital.

Through the social networks, the relatives are asking the population for blood donations.

At 10 pm on Saturday, the Veracruz Prosecutor's Office adjusted the death toll in the Minatitlán massacre and offered "expeditious justice."

The State Prosecutor's Office (FGE) of Veracruz confirmed that there were 13 victims, including a young child, after the slaughter by the armed commando at a party in Minatitlán and not 14, as it was broadcast this Saturday in the national media.

"The bodies were surveyed and then the legal autopsy reports were performed, accounting for a total of 13 deaths up to now," he said in a statement.

According to the agency, experts assigned to the South Coatzacoalcos Delegation carried out the expert investigations according to the law, with the objective of securing the property where the crimes occurred and of declaring the pertinent protection measures.

He also said that so far they have collected eighteen interviews with relatives and neighbors of the place, and that three separate visual inspections were conducted.

"Experts assigned to this judicial demarcation carry out ballistic dictates to determine the type of weapon used. They have been tested for sodium rhodizonate, Walker and expert identification," said the FGE.

He also stressed that he works in coordination with prosecutors, experts and the Ministerial Police, who exhaust the investigative acts that lead to the clarification of the event, such as the collection of audiovisual material that could help identify the alleged aggressors.

"All possible access and exit routes were inspected," he concluded.

VIDEO Taken Minutes before the shooting began:

The attack:
On Friday, around 9:00 p.m., a group of armed men attacked a restaurant where a familial gathering was taking place in the Obrera neighborhood in Minatitlán, with the objective of taking the subject, identified as "El Beky"/ "LaBeky"  however, those present tried to prevent it, for which they were attacked and shot dead with firearms. They assailants opened fire on everyone present.

"The incident took place in Leona Vicario street, in the Obrera neighborhood, when people arrived at the place asking for a person known as "La Beky", when they carried out the detonations, depriving seven men, five women and one minor, and leaving three men and one woman injured, "the Public Security Secretariat of the State of Veracruz reported in a statement.

Derived from these facts, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), under Alfonso Durazo, informed through his Twitter account that the Federal Forces are working together with Veracruz authorities to deploy a search and capture operation of those responsible.

"In the face of the reprehensible events that occurred in Minatitlán, Veracruz, and its balance of victims that beguiles us all, the Federal Forces are from the start, in support of state agencies, deploying a search operation and capture of those responsible" , said the agency.

Derived from the attack, elements of the Army, Secretary of the Navy and state police arrived at the site to set up a safeguard operation for the survivors, as well as to start searching for those responsible.

Increased tensions:

Prior to the scheduled visit that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador will make to the State tomorrow, the tension increases. According to reports, the Mexican president will arrive tomorrow to commemorate the US invasion of the Port of Veracruz on April 21, 1913 and on Monday he will hold a national security meeting and a press conference.

In addition to the attack in Minatitlán, in recent months the population has witnessed a political dispute between the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA), López Obrador's party, and the National Action Party (PAN), which until December last year governed the State.

Thus, Sunday and Monday, the President will be on tour in Veracruz; unofficially it is already leaked that the Federal Executive will announce that he will send 3,000 troop federal reinforcements -between Mexican Marines and Mexican Army- to contain the wave of violence in the Entity.

After the attack, Veracruz authorities implemented an operation to find those responsible for the events, today, through a statement, the State Government reported that since last night elements of different corporations were deployed to find those responsible.

In addition, he stressed that "during the first hours of this day, state and federal officials who make up the Mesa for the Construction of Peace Veracruz, headed by Governor Cuitláhuac García Jiménez, have held two security meetings to follow up on the search operation and capture of those responsible. "

    2. I sense a lot of anger in you, us, the people of Mexico are sorry that our president didn't live up to your standards. I dare you to lose 20 kilos in 1 week. Fixing a country that has been in the gutter for over 50 years will more than likely not be achieved during our current president's tenure. -kao

    3. I sense a general malaise among your people who don't want better standards such that they continually elect corrupt politicians. 50 years will never help, the people are part of the problem. AMLO will do NOTHING to help the problem get better, in fact, he like others will make deals. The problem now is that deals cannot be made like they once could with those in charge like Chapo. Mexico is done Kao, and it is always the people who suffer the most. Not the millionaire politicians like Fox, Nieto, and others, the PEOPLE suffer. The whole border crisis is a diversion such that AMLO doesn't have to address the role of the violence in Mexico. The border stays open for that reason, to draw the light away from the darkness of the cartels.

    4. A lot of the schools in Mexico teach kids to be conformist, it is sad, I know. A little bit more time and people will start waking up, kind of like pre 9/11 and a little after, most of the population in the US didn't question those 3 planes hitting those towers. We are waking up, slowly but surely. Mexico is a 3rd world country because "they" want it to be, not because the people in Mexico are still running around riding donkeys using outdated technology.

  4. Drug dealing us good only in movies, the reality of it is not like the corridos or the movies. The reality is death, prison, paranoia, getting robbed or kidnapped and you put your family in danger. Seen it here in the states but Mexico is 10 times worse.. I seen guys that used to be sicarios that rather move somewhere peaceful because they knew they were going to die sooner than later. I had many chances to be part of that life but I knew better thanks to my family.. just saying..

  6. Maybe now AMLO will enact on the increasing violence which he declares as false. Citizens are fed up and don't know what if anything will be done. Mexico's government has neglected this unacceptable behavior for far too long.

    2. The new zeland video was real.... he was using high grade rifles, scopes and ammo.... the thermal scope was no joke.... also had 2 round burst.... they also died quickly if you notice... people not laying on ground screaming and withering. The rounds did great internal damage quickly..... this massacre was ak or ar rifles with basic .223 rounds makes it very messy

      Delete
    3. 9:41 now you are going to say New Zealand is fake news because you don't see blood? Che mamon.

    5. Ask yourself why there is a magazine in the hallway BEFORE the shooter goes in? Did you watch the video? I bet NONE of you have watched the video. Ask yourself why they didn't leave the room when they were standing by a door? Ask yourself why there is no damage to the building? Ask yourself why the shell casings never hit the ground in the video? @8:03 there were no thermal scopes. You haven't watched the video. It is always interesting to me how many people repeat what they hear and don't investigate for themselves. The video is doctored at best, faked at worst. Go watch it...answer my questions

  14. Kids may be innocent, yet pay for the the decisions of the parents.

In this case, the parents tried to protect an abomination of nature (a man who thinks he’s a woman), wanted by the cartel for whatever reason, and paid with their lives and lives of the kids.

What type of family would allow a freak like that around? That in itself is a horrific example to kids, and I have yet to see anyone write about that.

@11:32. The parents have some blame in this. I’m sure you would have protected that freak of nature (La Beky) with your life, and the lives of your kids too, right?

  15. I been reading about a lot of drama in Veracruz between the attorney general and the governor. The AG is a guy named Winckler who is very close to the Panista ex gobernador Yunes... It was in the press a lot that Yunes and his group were very much allied w/ Z... The stories say that "la Beky" used to deal drugs for the Z out of his/her bars, and had switched to Jalisco... Well the only thing that would make sense would be that the Z come after La Beky in revenge for him changing suppliers. But Winckler is basically a Z, so it makes sense that he's trying to pin this crime on Jalisco. My 2 cents.
