Officials confirm narcotunnels in Guanajuato

According to Ciro Gómez Leyva, the criminal group has an underground network of tunnels, basements and false walls, the journalist said they belong to Marro and the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel.  Also, this afternoon, the Prosecutor confirmed that the criminal uses tunnels, although he said he did not know how many they are and did not specify what they are used for. Guanajuato- The Attorney General of the State of Guanajuato, Carlos Zamarripa Aguirre , informed that with the participation of state and federal security authorities, they managed to arrest six more people for different reasons and the retrieval of 31 vehicles with theft reports in the municipality of Villagrán .

At a press conference, the state official said that so far there are seven people arrested who are close to José Antonio Yépez 'El Marro', leader of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel.

He said actions are still ongoing in Santa Rosa de Lima, where they also have reports that the criminal group linked to the theft of gasoline, has a network of tunnels.


"We continue to cooperate with the federal authorities on this issue, and we will continue, " he said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Government, Luis Ernesto Ayala Torres, said they will continue to intervene against the criminal groups, who have destabilized the harmony of the Guanajuato society, "that is why we have strong actions."

For his part, the Secretary of Public Security of the state, Alvar Cabeza de Appendini, explained that the presence of the State Security Forces in the community of Santa Rosa de Lima continue to support the Navy and the Gendarmerie , as well as the State Attorney General.

The staff has been established at strategic surveillance points on the main roads that connect to this place, mainly the Celaya-Salamanca federal highway , as well as on the state roads that connect Juventino Rosas-Comonfort-Salvatierra,the official added.

  5. The first thing that comes to mind when I hear about these investigations and property seizures is the narco missed or stopped his govt bribes. Secondly, another narco offered a larger bribe to get rid of the other. It's all about money imo.

    It’s like in western states- you can do what you want but never betray the gob on their taxes or you get fucked.
