El Chapo Trial: "Secret" Memo Unsealed-Martinez testimony ends-Chupeta on deck

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat
Thus is first part of trial report for today

Secret Memo

Ordered unsealed today is the “Secret Memo” regarding El Rey Zambada paying bribes to government officials.  Some have reported this means current, by a couple of days, and past presidents.  But in the memo no president is mentioned, just “government officials”, and no names provided.

Prosecutors insist that the defense’s “offer of proof is incorrect” but there is not an explanation.

They also say that the government itself disclosed that Zambada paid bribes—but not to whom.

The secret memo document is at bottom, but is heavily redacted; therefore it remains a “Secret Memo”.

Cross and redirect of Martinez

Defense attorney, William Purpura continued pounding Martinez regarding his inconsistencies in prior testimony and statements.  Cross examination ends.

On redirect: Prosecution's final question to the witness.... "Mr. Martinez, have you lied to this jury?"

Martinez answers: "No"

Martinez was a witness was weak.  He has a giant vendetta against his former friend.  His admissions of lies along with uncorroborated allegations, for me, would nullify this witness’s testimony.   El Rey was far more credible. Prosecution did not need this witness.

Agents testify

Next three witnesses on deck are from law enforcement.  A DEA agent, and two from the Coast Guard.  Testimony will be about massive seizures of drug shipments

37,618 kilos of cocaine discussed in four seizures. and possibly the testimony is to set up the next cooperative witness who is the violent Colombian Juan Carlos Ramírez Abadía aka “Chupeta” who was arrested in Brasil in 2007.

  1. A minor correction, Juan Carlos is Columbian I believe, and he was arrested in Brazil. But big picture, you were spot on regarding martinez's testimony. It was completely useless and a movie producer wouldve had a better time with it. I cant wait for the other witnesses that are going to testify.

    1. 1:16. Yes - Juan Carlos origin is de Columbia and he was with Chepe and Orejuelas until los Cali goes to prison. In prison JC grows his shipments and is able to work with Valle Norte because he had relations with to sell unlimited shipment to Azuls people. But in early 2000 he is too big and worries for his security so he moved to São Paulo and had very much cirugía plástica. Chupeta stayewith his homosexual lover in Brasil but after Edgar Guzman was killed by BLO Juan Carlos was arrested.

  3. So much for transparency as the government protects state actors and agencies from the light of truth that would show complicity in trafficking.

    1. The Mexican government is not on trial, this is not the UN. This is a trial against 1 person, not a country.

    2. Maybe the Mexican government is not on trial but they damn sure should be... The Mexican government has been responsible for the trafficking of narcotics worldwide for longer than I’ve been alive 55 plus years.

And as long as they’re able to control their plazas and the criminals that they put in charge of them drug trafficking, corruption, addiction, misery, murder, and violence will continue unabated in Mexico.

If evidence services at the trial of government agencies and individuals and their corruption, then pursue an indictment, arrest, and conviction. And I’ll add this is a common practice in virtually every justice system in every country that is civilized.

Put every damn one of them on trial convict them and put them in prison where they belong.

    1. It made The Drudge Report, I would have posted but little details besides what the Mexican police says. In there underwear, tortured and then executed. Probably would be MB material with a few more facts, but the Chapo trial is consuming everything (as it should).

  9. It doesn't matter who says what. The American's already have el chapo pinned to the ground with no where to run. The warden of ADX even told el chapo "good luck digging out of here". The CIA will break him.

    3. I hope you’re being sarcastic. In my opinion BB provides the best, Most up-to-date, accurate information available on the drug Norco wars in Mexico. And also related information, such is El Chapo’s trial in New York. They are all providing excellent journalism on this event, and there are thousands of journalist covering it and they’re providing the best coverage if you don’t like it go somewhere else but don’t criticize someone who is providing excellent journalistic news in this day and age.

And a side note all these journalist on B.B. are all doing it on their own they get no compensation and I’m guessing use their own resources time and money to provide this coverage for you. Don’t be a jackass… Bad enough one is running our country...I really don’t want to have to read Jackass rantings on my favorite news website
