Manelich Castilla Craviotto, commissioner general of the Federal Police, announced the arrest in Chihuahua of the alleged leader of the criminal group called ''Los Aztecas'', identified as René Gerardo 'N' alias ''El 300".

The arrest was made at the Chihuahua International Airport when federal forces were circulating around the air terminal and saw a vehicle that made an evasive maneuver. The officers intercepted the vehicle, conducted an inspection and verification of the driver, the official said at a press conference.

Castilla Cravioto added that through the inspection with the canine unit a long M16 weapon and several doses of drugs were located, after which the identity of the individual was confirmed throughthe Plataforma México.
The detainee and the weapon and drugs were secured were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry in facilities of the Attorney General's Office (PGR) in Chihuahua.
René Gerardo "N", 34, is originally from Ciudad Juárez. He was arrested on September 15, 2017 and tried for the crime of carrying firearms and possession of 100 doses of cocaine. However, after three months he was sentenced to pay 5,000 Pesos for the conditional sentence.

"El 300'' allegedly assumed the leadership of the criminal group ''Los Aztecas'' after the arrest of his boss Eduardo Ravelo Rodríguez alias ''El Tablas'', on June 26, 2018. This action caused a division of ''Los Aztecas'' and generated armed confrontations that caused the increase in violence in the northern region of the state of Chihuahua.

He is responsible for the aggressions against State and Municipal authorities in Ciudad Juarez and for the murder of his rival Juan Arturo Padilla Juárez alias ''El Genio'', who was considered second in command of "los Aztecas", and who was stabbed to death in a fight , which occurred on August 2 at Cereso number 1 Aquiles Serdán, in Chihuahua.

11 people strangled to death in one house during the violent hours after "El Genio's" murder

The aftermath of "El Genio's" murder detonated a wave of violence in and around Ciudad Juarez in which at least 30 people were assassinated in 20 hours. ALL were murdered by strangulation "with a tourniquet around their necks".

The State of Chihuahua sent in 100 heavily armed officials to patrol the streets of the city.

"El 300'' is considered by local and federal authorities as one of the main generators of violence in Chihuahua. He  has three arrest warrants in force from the State Attorney's Office of Chihuahua, one for qualified homicide.

This arrest is added to the apprehension of Arturo Quintana Quintana alias ''El 80'' and Julio César Olivas Torres alias ''El Sexto'', also carried out in 2018.

May be an Update, this was breaking news when I saw it.

  7. Say it's a revolving door, yes he killed people, yes he was caught with high powered weapons in the past, he paid a fine of 5,000 pesos and set free, to continue to the life of crime. And now caught again...you all know he will be set free, when the dust settles.

    3. I'm surprised this comment was posted at all considering that it has nothing to do with the purpose of this blog. Perhaps it was to show that you are just an idiot. And by that, you do a great job of showing it to all of us. Go get back on the short bus and run along, your mami is calling for you.
