Police Shot in Hermosillo, Sonora / Suspects in Custody

Translated by Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: Excelsior

Hermosillo, Sonora:

Because the suspects were located and tracked through the C5 monitoring cameras in Sonora, Municipal Police officers arrested four suspects in the attack on an officer of the corporation who was shot dead on Friday morning, when he left after completing the night shift in Hermosillo.

On Friday morning at 8:40 am, Officer Jesús Omar Nevárez was shot dead in the Arcoíris neighborhood south of the state capital, the authorities activated the Red Code and through the video surveillance system of the C5, the agents managed to locate two trucks, a red Cheyenne pickup and another dark-colored Tahoe pickup, where they tackled the group of gunmen.

Through the cameras the suspects were tracked to the north of Hermosillo , on Boulevard Progreso there was an armed confrontation where the mixed operative managed to arrest four suspects in possession of weapons and tactical equipment .

The suspects have not yet been identified , the exact amount of weapons they carried has not been reported, it was only reported that they carried long and short weapons, two trucks, as well as tactical equipment.

Yesterday, a group of assassins attacked the tactical operations group of Guaymas, leaving at least five agents dead and three wounded .

This is the second attack registered in municipalities of Sonora against police corporations .

    1. With the campesinos not allowed to have weapons, how can they defend themselves? They are easily being slaughtered, by cartels and criminals.

    2. Well then, the govt should just lay down marshall law and put all the innocent in camps. Only the law of the criminal shall be heard.....Thats a sad thought for the gente

According to the best hand readers, the worst criminal in this case is the Mexican government through its sicarios, narcos and associates, including military for a share of the bounty...

    5. SO you are saying just lie down with the fleas and do nothing. JUst let the senseless killing continue. Thats why most of the mex population would come to the US were there are laws that keep people safe and criminals do not operate with impunity

    3. Mexico has been turning into Afghanistán since the 2 006,
Some of us tought the wars ON drugs were the reason, but NOOO, it is the war "for the drug trafficking" that causes most of the problems while the wise asses get ready for more money laundering in some precious little foreign banks, Deutsche Bank lends money should-could but you can find your own beech...

    4. Why are people so pro us? You do understand that FOREIGN intervention is what messed up Afghanistan? Thanks to russia and even more USA Afghanistan is what it is today. In addition, all asking for US intervention do not realize that it will destroy Mexico even further. Which companies will be reconstructing Mexico after heavy intervention? Where will the money come from, IMF/World Bank? I can't believe the pro US pov from a lot of "Mexicans" here. The USA is already heavily vested in Mexican society since day one.
