Monterrey N.L.: "La Yegua" head of the Ciclones arrested

Steve CTP posted on BB forum from Mexico Daily, El Universal and La jornada

A suspected regional leader of the Gulf Cartel was arrested yesterday in a joint operation carried out by state and federal agents in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

Héctor Adrián “La Yegua” Lucio Benavides is believed to the head of the Ciclones gang, which works with the Gulf Cartel in the theft of fuel, extortion, kidnapping and trafficking migrants and drugs to the United States.

The Ciclones operate in Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, in the Huasteca region of San Luis Potosí and in northern Veracruz.

The arrest yesterday morning of Lucio and his right-hand man, Christian Aarón Hernández Cabrales, is the result of one year of collaborative investigation by the National Security Commission and local authorities.

Investigations have found that Hernández was in charge of the Ciclones’ kidnapping and drug smuggling logistics.

The two men were apprehended in the Cumbres Elite neighborhood of Monterrey without firing a single shot. The men were in possession of firearms, drugs, mobile phones and cash at the time of their arrest.

National Security Commissioner Renato Sales Heredia told a press conference that “Héctor Adrían is the organization’s main operator, and was considered a priority target by the federal government and by the states of Nuevo León and Tamaulipas.”

Lucio had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the federal government for homicide and kidnapping, and his accomplice was wanted for the same crimes.

  3. The cdg say they are good and dont extort but are just as bad as cdn even worse because they are two faced,
Also there was a balcera in southern zacatecas, that is said was done by cjng in a manta left anouncing their presence signed by mencho in search of talibanes. I call a bluff by cdg.

    1. Shit started to fall off after osiel got captured.
Years ago I use to walk cross the border into Miguel aleman and nothing too serious would happen. Now it’s a whole different ballgame.
You can also blame el coss for creating los sierra dedicated to kidnapping and extortion.

Do los talibanes and CDN have an alliance?
I know cdg still has presence on ZAC.

    2. 1:47 cdn n talibanes going at it with each other....cdg is the big dog in zac controling almost the entire state but beefing it hard with cdn in fresnillo jerez calera etc talibanes have presence towards aguascalientes cds has 2 feet set in teocaltiche

    3. No talibanes and cdn also hate eachother but it wouldnt suprise me they turn into allys against cdg who they both hate the most. Its a quagmire in that area.

    4. Cdn=z40 talibanes=z50/el taliban they both hate each other thats the reason they formed those 2 groups..

    5. Los talibanes are allies with cdn they have been since they found out about el 50 betrayed his own people that's why el 50 turned himself in he was wanted by his own people

    7. Z50 El Tal Ivan Velasquez Caballero went back to CDG who had always remained an ally and took his zeta with him, there will be no chance to surrender for any side unless CDN comes back to CDG, THAT IS LAS TREVIÑAS, the party of Judas alias z 40 who betrayed Lazcano and caused the division of zetas for not paying them because "his US rancho and race horses were more important"
CDG HAS ZACATECAS BECAUSE OF THEIR PATENTED CAL AND CALDO LOCO and Caldo de ratas, thanks to El taliban, and they proudly sport their shaved heads and talibán beards, even in Ojocaliente south of the military base in Guadalupe.

    8. 5:54 Not reality that CDG controls Zacatecas.
1:47 I’m feeling you about Osiel and walking into Miguel Aleman and Matamoros when I was a teen and partying at South Padre. However what’s driven violence is guns from gun stores all along border as the US has made gun sales more liberal over the past 20 years and also alllowed the sale of both assault and large caliber weapons. Nowadays anyone who hits a big lick through a rip or kidnapping can get access to an arsenal and fight for plaza supremacy whereas years ago - like pre-1990 criminals needed connections and even with lots of money they could only buy so many assault style guns from corrupt military; and only hunting rifles from the US. Lol..I’ve been at this since 1994 and almost all gun busts along border were hunting rifles and now you won’t see anything less than Cuernos and 50 calibers.

    9. Z40 n z50 el taliban hate rach other...if not mistaking when lazcano died they didnt agree on something reason why they created those groups n started killing each other..

    10. 9:11 the problem with el 50 started before lazcano died he was mad because they were replacings his lieutenants with that of treviños and some other top guys people... when he was in san luis "fighting" cdg he would ask for reinforcements and when they would arrive some how the enemy knew and would kill them it happen for a while until the other zeta commanders started to get suspicious and they found out el 50 was betraying them by selling out the reinforcements and getting their guys killed

    1. So a lot of BB readers over the years have ask who owns “MTY plaza”.
My answer no one because nearly all Mexican cartels have drugs been shipped through MTY or being sold in MTY.
I’d say the majority of MTY is CDN-Z/BLO.
Cdg did lose alto territory after the spilt with Z but never lost its presence or even CDS.
Remember it’s one of the biggest cites in Mexico one cartel cannot dominate it all.
Also Monterrey is the home of a lot of families of deceased narcos and vice versa.

    2. interesting, my understanding is that Monterrey, NL is BLO turf

    5. The PRI CARTEL OWNS NUEVO LEON, since future governor Halconso Martinez Dominguez came back after pleading guilty to the Jueves de Corpus Halconazo and giving his resignation to Presidente Luis Echeverria, ("Aqui está resignación Señor Presidente y chingue usted a su madre") he gave Mexico Carlos Salinas De Gortari to avenge the ignominy from the Halcon President who made his bones in Tlatelolco for Mexico 68 and went to preside over the Guadalajara Cartel, Echeverria Alvarez.
The Halconsos also made the CDG to compete with cartel de Guadalajara, later CDS and other names.
Under PRI all sides bitch against each other for the same bones after the government in charge sells the Plaza Franchise to several "owners" that then have to Take Care of Busines's even if PAN or any other party gets to power...

      Delete
    6. yeah alot of the big players have treaty's with the local gangs in that city. you cant really tell what cartel is supplying who in the city. you gotta really dig in.

      Delete
    7. 1:15 I second your answer and will even second that everyone is there because like DF and Guadalajara it’s an enormous city that’s with a very different culture - almost a culture like the USA and Germany from a work ethic standpoint. Point I’m getting at is laundering is enormous there and launderers work together like a biz and not a competition for supremacy.

  10. CDN has been making incursions recently into Golfo territory.

They had been sitting back for sometime now, as CDG decimated themselves via treachery and arrests.

Maybe they’re finally going after the whole pie?

    2. Why do people still keep on believing osiel left his brothers in charge after he got sent away.
He left el kelin z2 in charge jealously got him killed.

Osiel never liked the fact that all his brothers created their own factions. It all makes sense!
