Leader of CDN in Tamaulipas arrested

Translated by Otis B Fly-Wheel for Borderland Beat from a Reforma article with additional information from Epoca Violenta

Subject Matter: Ismael Gilberto Lopez Guerrero, El Mayito
Recommendation: No prior subject matter knowledge required

Reporter: Benito Jimenez
Elements of the Army detained a subject with the nickname El Mayito in Tamaulipas, identified as leader in the structure of the Cartel del Noreste and identified in a preliminary manner as Ismael Gilberto Lopez Guerrero.

The capo was captured in the Los Garza colonia, of this frontier city, together with another subject in possession of two rifles, an AR-15 and and AK-47 also known as Cuerno de Chivo or goats horn, as well as a 30-30 caliber rifle, a 12 gauge shotgun, two pistols, one 5.7mm and one .40, 4 weapon magazines for different weapons, 600 rounds of ammunition of different calibers, 50,000 dollars American and two vans.

According to the given information, El Mayito, as well as being a financial operator of  the Cartel del Noreste, in this zone is in charge of transit of drugs to Laredo, Texas in the United States.

In 2013, a subject with the same name was detained and accused of collecting money for the operations of Los Zetas in Nuevo Laredo.

From 24th July 2013

Two financial operators from the Los Zetas cartel, identified by the Dept of the Treasury of the United States as key subjects in the network of command for the organization, were detained in Mexico, and were identified as high profile operators. The case that follows were detailed by the authorities as big hits against this criminal group.

However, the investigations of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) concluded that the Mexicans José Odilón Ramírez Perales and Ismael López Guerrero -who also uses the alias of Gilberto Godina Guerrero- were money laundering operators of the cartel, to whom they are looking to freeze accounts in that country for 20 million dollars.

Ramírez Perales, 41, born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, is identified by the US as being responsible for "laundering tens of millions of dollars" of illicit proceeds obtained by Los Zetas in that country, money that was then trafficked to Mexico.

This man nicknamed El Kuno has since July of last year an arrest warrant in a Texas District Court for money laundering, for 20 million dollars.

That day in other actions, the Marines apprehended Ramírez Perales in Monclova, "due to the attitude of nervousness in the presence of naval elements," according to a statement from the unit; that is, his capture was not an objective.

Although he was arrested on October 14, 2012, as part of three separate operations that were carried out that day by the Secretary of the Navy in Coahuila, in one of which the alleged regional chief of Los Zetas, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Díaz, was apprehended. Metro, was the capture that stood out at that time Semar, for the blow that represented to the organization.

The suspect was detained because, inspecting his travel bag, he had eight packets of cocaine, a short weapon and 460 useful cartridges of various calibers; then he confessed to belonging to Los Zetas, and being in charge of packaging the drug.

About López Guerrero, 35, a native of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, there is not even a reference to his detention in July 2012 in Mexico, although he is being held in the federal maximum security prison in Tamaulipas. Where he faces charges for crimes against health

    3. So this guy saw the Marina and started acting nervous and scared? He wasn't even a target, but he came unglued at the sight of them, and caught their attention? THEN he confesses that he is a Zeta who packages drugs for a living? WOW, what happened to the Z? In days of old this would have never happened. Commander Bebe took torture and wouldn't give the CDG a single word no matter what they did to him he stayed silent.

Zetas are now scraping the bottom of the barrel on leadership. They may still be rich, but they are on their way OUT.

    1. Because CDN is not even a drug cartel? More like a gang or the shadow of a former criminal syndicate .

    2. Wbere is Mayo Z.??? Looks like both the U.S. govenrment as well as Mexico are leaving MZ alone to train his replacemnet if he is ever captured. Or the rumor is true that the U.S. wants ONE cartel in charge of all of Mexico hence CDS is the winner because there are hardly any captures of leaders of them.

      Delete
    3. @9:21 Do you actually bother to keep up with the news? There have been countless CDS leaders killed and captured over the years. Or do you think El Chapo and Licnedio were small fries?

      Delete
    4. 8:24 AM - CDN still moves serious weight, just as CDG does. They may be a shadow of what once was, but they are rich as hell and can keep paying idiots to die for them.

You couldn't make this shit up if you tried? So the US dictates which cartel is gonna be on top in Mexico, yeah makes sense,so they want CDS on top but they just about buried Chapo alive, the worst blow to CDS,its twue it weally is,next conkspiwacy

Have to say you make a valid point!
This drug epidemic is here to stay. No point on bickering and pointing fingers. A lost cause fighting a system that relies on the bankrolls of many. Lining their pockets while disregarding humanity.
      Nothing will change!
Educate your children the perils of drug usage and drug trafficking. Teaching one morals and values and what can be achieved in life with commitment and dedication.

      A lost cause

    7. 8:24. The real cartels are the smart cartels that you do not hear of. There are every day thousands of kilos moving across el puente Internacional Colombia and also the number 2 bridge. CDN has been smart in their business and only charging fair tarif to move other people’s drugs to USA to avoid war. Nuevo Laredo is a very valuable plaza.

    8. 9:21 cds,as well as every other cartel have taken hits.but CDS was the chosen cartel by the D.E.A since the mid 50's-present day.the big difference is sinaloa is afew chosen familias that run the show.not a C.D.S nuthugger, just keeping it real.

    10. In the end, it dont matter...US controls all the action on both sides of the border.

    11. yes, i know CDN moves dope through Laredo. That is the only reason they are still relevant. But as some stated is not theirs. they have to accept and take a 10% fee for taxing OTHER REAL CARTELS moving their drugs. Take CDN their border plaza and CDG frontera chica and they're literally done. period. Heck Zetas were done the minute they lost hold of Coahuila as the boogieman even after Lazcano's death .Even tho even before his death you could tell Zetas were not that Roobin Hood team of rebel gunners who commanded respect and "honour", "Values", etc that once did in the early 00s as "La gente de Oziel/ Gatilleros de Alta Escuela" (you could see people admiring them in those years when holding the plazas were they lived, their true colors showed up after they attacked Michoacan tho)

    12. BS mumbo jumbo and yet Zambada is free! Fuck DEA and U.S. government trying to brainwash everyone that there is a war on drugs or that it can be won.

    13. 10:54 The organization controlling Moneterrey to Nuebo Laredo does not belong in same conversación as what history has defined as los Zetas. To say that the organizions trafficking now for years through the biggest terrestrial port in USA is only “relevant” is just very uninformed. Nuevo Laredo is most valuable plaza after Tijuana and only the most organized organization from DF to the local militar, aduana, políticos, and power people on both sides of la frontera can achieve what has been happening for so many years now
To compare CDG to the organization that has kept NL at peace this long is like comparing Lazca and Mayo, or a Volkswagen to a Range Rover.
I don’t know where you get your 10% number or what you call a “real cartel”, but 10% of what will cross the bridges and traen from NL to USA in any 24 hours will bring metric tons of of kilos to past Laredo to the distribution places like San Antonio, Dallas, Chicago, Cleveland, New York and Quebec and other important cities.

      Delete
    14. What organization will that be? Monterrey most expensive area isncontrois by Beltranes not CDN ( ask 42). The rest of the state is not relevant. There's more addicts sniffing glue than heroin, meth, crack users

      Delete
    15. 10:18, You don’t get it. “Real cartels” don’t have tattoos on their face and walk around selling dope on the corner. CDG, big biz in MTY, politicians and Aduana are moving more dope with less friction than anywhere. That’s a REAL CARTEL!

  3. Great job Mexican Army, El mayito will not in prison. No freedom to kill, or hurt anymore. Yippie kayay!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Mayito wasn’t a financial operator he just got out of prison in Nuevo Laredo a few months ago. The $50,000 was probably what he made in prison, because 50 grand isn’t enough to pay for 1 day

    1. no, he did a pact with the CIA/Mexican Government. Betrayed the people that let him joined the Cartel like a coward. Even Z-50 had more balls and fought in shootouts and proved himself to be reliable to the real Zs in jail (like Hummer) and be trusted. L-40 (he never officially gained the Z code he stole it btw, could not even handle 30 freaking days in the wilderness to handle minimum stressful conditions without dying of a diabetic coma). He's nothing but a coward that knows he's dead if he leaves his cage.

      Delete
    2. Every body knows z40 was in the shit, he was in charge of taking Guatemala he was also fighting in Sinaloa Veracruz and a bunch of other states ...and Actually z50 betrayed the Zetas that's why he decided to go to the u.s. because if he stayed in Mexico he would die... by the way his men (Los talibanes) work for CDN now most of the original zetas stayed with the treviños ... ZVE is only a few golfos that recently were released if you don't know whats actually going on just keep your mouth shut... there is a reason why Chapo called out z40 and it's not because he was a coward

      Delete
    3. Incase you didn't know Z-40 was a high ranking dude even before joining the Zetas when he was L-40 Cobra group from CDG I believe... he was in charge of Nuevo Laredo plaza and more from the jump so not sure why you say he stole it he was OFFICIAL. Yes he betrayed some when he realized he could become leader but Z-40 was one of the top bosses from the start.

I wonder if someone is going to create a special designated section for Stratford in the Pentagon like they are trying to create for Erik, "the Prince of the Rapists" and his Frontier Services Group, the Russians did, United Arab Emirates did, the Saudis did, the Chinese did, and FSG has its own "air force" to bomb poisons or whatever they get hired for. And are creating their own world intelligence group too for beer money
