El Vincentillo, son of El Mayo and witness in the United States against El Chapo, will be sentenced in December

Translated by Otis B Fly-Wheel for Borderland Beat from a Zetatijuana article

Subject Matter: Vincete Zambada Niebla, El Vincentillo
Recommendation: No prior subject matter knowledge required

Reporter: Carlos Alvarez
Vincente Zambada Niebla, alias El Vincentillo, son of the alleged leader of the Sinaloa cartel, Ismael Zambada Garcia, El Mayo, and collaborator with the United States government in the case against Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Loera, will be sentenced in December of this year in Chicago, Illinois.

El Vincentillo, 43 years of age and born in Culiacan, was detained on the 18th of March of 2009 in Mexico city after arranging a meeting with DEA agents in the Sheraton hotel in Paseo de la Reforma, located a block from the United States embassy in Mexico.

Zambada Niebla was extradited to the United States in February of 2010, and transferred to a maximum security prison in Michigan, accused of being a high ranking member of the Sinaloa cartel, and of conspiracy to posses and traffic drugs from central and south America, as well as buying weapons to attack public officials.

He was declared guilty on the 3rd of April of 2013, of being the coordinator for logistics of the Sinaloa cartel, and accepted being responsible for the distribution of tons of cocaine between 1005 and 2008, originating in central and south American, that later was transferred to the United States by ship, planes, submarines, trains, vans and cars.

Zambada Niebla admitted also, that he knew of the activities of his father and El Chapo, as well as knowing that the Sinaloa cartel used violence to facilitate its activities and that he was one of the trusted lieutenants of his father, El Mayo Zambada.

Since then the son of El Mayo collaborated with the Federal Prosecutor of the North District of Illinois, in the preparation of the case against El Chapo, who was extradited to the United States on the 19th of January of 2017 to be judged in New York.

For his collaboration, it is expected that the Federal Judge Ruben Castillo, in charge of the trial of the son of El Mayo, will set aside a life sentence, that would correspond to his crimes, and impose a lower penalty of 10 years, as well as fine of 4 million dollars.

The magistrate who is in charge of the prosecution of 19 members of the Sinaloa cartel for conspiracy to traffic drugs, accepted an agreement between the lawyers of Zambada Niebla and the prosecutors, to issue a sentence on December 17th.

Another eight people who have been investigated for the same cause in Chicago, have already been sentenced, including twins Pedro and Margarito Flores, also turned into informants of the US government, who received penalties of 14 years each for their participation in the drug trafficking of the Sinaloa cartel.

Everything is recorded int he file 09-CR-00383, opened on April 23rd of 2009 against El Vincentillo, his father Ismael Zambada Garcia, Joaquin Guzman Loera and Alfredo Guzman Salazar, among other Sinaloan capos.

Now, less see what La Chapa gets for his silent suffering, he was in charge of the Sinaloa/ Sonora/ Arizona corridor through the thick and tin seasons maintaining the outfit in busiNess against all comers and without so much piggy murdering.
It is a wonder how Arizona would be so intolerant of the unaligned and so corrupt when it came to their Goodfellas, specially after the fall of Florida as center of the universe.

    3. Well the article states the judge will give him 10 years, he was arrested in 2009, its now 2018 so he has been in prison 9 years already. So with time served, he will be out in december of 2019

    4. on any federal sentence in the US you do 85%. 8.5 years, he should be up for immediate release once sentenced.

    7. Was his surrender & assistance to the US gov’t seen as tactical?protecting his father at the top by removing his partner & greatest competition, while protecting himself for 10 yrs of a war while networking with whomever was in area of confinement.

    8. B.O.P got him in custody in 2010. That is when time served begins. Jail time in Mexico will not be credited to him.

Do you really think it’s a fair sentence given to a major player? How many others who are given an excess of 20+ years for peanuts compared to this individual.
Definitely a broken judicial system which the US currently applies. I have to admit what many here state money talks! Perfect example of the hypocrisy the US displays.
Mexico is not much different in comparison to impunity. Another WELL OILED Machine!
The issue raises questions as to why we engage in a drug war when we impose slap on the wrist sentences for those who are the root of an epidemic?

    1. Because they needed to get as much out of him by that I mean the more he ratted out El Chapo and the cartel the less years he would serve so he finally finished ratting El Chapo out to the point he can finally get a solid sentence

    2. Interesting! Thanks Otis.So that means that he can't be cross examined because he won't be at trial if he finishes his sentence before the trial? So then they won't want to delay that trial too long if possible?Of course he won't be the only witness but as time passes more and more of them will finish their sentences due to their 'deals'.

    1. It will amaze me if he comes back to the life when he returns to Mexico, Mayo will have his back but more likely ban him from the business, Chapitos have more of the younger generation riding with them but I doubt they'll make a move on him deep down they know Chapo not coming back alive

      Delete
    2. I disagree...Vicente made a deal. He merely cooberated the Flores testimony against Chapo, and most certainly Damasos..the Chapitos will have no Ill will, as it's known their father is never coming back. Vicente will lay low somewhere safe, and coordinate through his brother, and Mayo will retire. I believe the whole org has restructured, and territories will be divided even more. Once Mencho falls, he will be the last Big Jefe. Sinaloa getting more into production. Look how many there are already set up in Colombia and the rest of Central and South America. CDS will supply the rest of the Mexican traffickers. Less heat and violence. Just what I see them doing.

That would have to apply to any and all the others who are also giving info on el chapo to the Gov..The reason his testimony is important is because they take it and add it to testimony from others like the twins as well..They can't convict chapo on what "every one knows already"..IMO the real snitch is the one who told chapo's location, since all the testimony from all the Gov witnesses together doesn't mean anything if they can't find chapo

    ReplyDelete
  18. Snitches don’t get stitches, they get 10 years. However, Mayo and Chapo probably both approved of this. He couldn’t tell them anymore then the Twins did anyways.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I really don't think he will get just 10 years and time served, he will have to serve another 10 at a minimum.

Vicente, in addition to his list of charges that he pleaded to, also attempted to have Saul Rodriguez, a former police officer, in federal custody, murder the witnesses against him, from the Chicago federal building.

The judge Ruben Castillo has sentenced many high ranking Sinaloa traffickers, and won't have sympathy for Vicentillo.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yeah Saul Rodriguez, the 10 minute cry baby drug lord for not receiving what the twins received.
I truly hope a stiff sentence is given to Vincentillo. If the court shows mercy there is no point for any of us to argue / rebuke this hypocrisy of a system!

    3. @ Canadiana
Saul Rodriguez had a deal pending until he violated the terms by federal prosecutors. Saul tried to get information on Vincentillo and vise / versa. Where he gave information to Vincentillo about the whereabouts of the twins wives residency for a fee.
Things many are not aware of. Which led to the stiff sentence of Saul.
Tried to play two sides of the fence and bit him in the ass in the end.

  33. Through his attorneys he’s waived any speedy trial claims. Plus, as a cooperating witness, the judge will grant what is known as a Rule 35, for a downward departure in the federal sentencing guidelines, which he’s allowed to do if a witness is judged by the prosecution to have rendered significant contributions to other indictments or investigations. Hence the 10 year sentence.

  35. I will tell you the truth. Vincente has always been out. He has not been detainees since 2008. Since his arrest in Mexico and meeting with the DEA, he has been out. He was them "supposedly" extradicted to the US. He has remained free until DOJ is ready to make announcement about a Sinaloa case. He's been a pawn of DOJ from the beginning. It is correct he will get time served. That means he will be out by 2020 or tad bit later. This has been a setup from the beginning.
