NorCal Couple in Their 80s Told Police 60 lbs of weed Was for ‘Christmas Presents’

Posted by Chvis Martinez from Redheaded Blackbelt

Note from Chivis:

The elderly couple are the parents of a Vermont prosecutor.

The elderly parents of this county's deputy prosecutor were arrested last week and accused of driving marijuana cross country that they planned to give as Christmas presents.

The couple's son is Justin Jiron, the chief deputy Chittenden County state's attorney. Burlington is the county seat of Chittenden County.

"Justin is in no way connected to this allegation other than by relation," his boss, Chittenden County State's Attorney Sarah George, wrote in email Tuesday night to the Burlington Free Press. "Justin is and has been a dedicated public servant for over 15 years, and I assure you he is as surprised and upset about these allegations as anyone."    [ surprised? You be the judge]

From Redheaded Blackbelt website:

Press Release: On December 19, 2017 York County deputies observed a 2016 Toyota Tacoma failing to signal a turn and driving left of the center line and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Upon contact with the vehicle, deputies detected the odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. When asked about the odor of marijuana, the driver, 83-year-old Patrick Jiron admitted to having contraband inside the vehicle and consented to a search of the vehicle.

Located inside the vehicle’s truck topper during the search was approximately 60 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of over $300,000. Also located were multiple containers of concentrated THC.

Both occupants advised that they were traveling from California making stops in Boston, Massachusetts and Vermont to distribute the marijuana to family and friends as Christmas gifts.

Cited on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and no drug tax stamp was 83-year-old Patrick Jiron and his wife, 80-year-old Barbara Jiron of Clearlake Oaks, California.

According to the York News Times,

York County Sheriff’s Lt. Paul Vrbka said Barbara Jiron was cited in the case but was not jailed “due to some medical issues.”

It has also been clarified that Barbara Jiron’s age is 70. The sheriff’s department inadvertently originally said her age was 83.

Her husband, Patrick Jiron, was taken into custody and booked into the York County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and having no drug tax stamp. He has since posted 10 percent of his $100,000 bond and has been released.

  3. Yet the Golden Gate Park, the Tenderloin, East/West Oakland are open markets for heroin, pills, meth, crack and all other hard drugs and they never catch the big heads. (not hard to figure out the convenience store in Leavenworth Tenderloin stores hard drugs yet never gets raided and i live in an apartment close to it and i see it ALL)

    1. You should probably replace that brain , where did it say k9? The officers them selves detected the odor fool

    3. You need to re-read the article, too much dope in de head. The officer smelled the pot, and grampa consented to search, no K9 was needed.

    1. I wasn't sure exactly where you wanted to be, north south east or west. there are so many places, a friend just bought an incredible condo in Mexico City, in Roma section. Mexico as a state is safe, they have pockets of violence but well contained. Mnterrey NL I did have a home there, before the horrible spike of violence the Zs brought, it is where I saw my first Manta. It is an amazing city, excellent schools, medical, and a high level of educated people. Great food, although I never did get around to eating the cabrito. AND TONS TO DO. Saltillo Coahuila has my heart. I have conducted many projects there and love the place.

just email me if you locate a place and want more info.

    2. Im not sure how to get your email but thank you for your insight and advice i have to be in Mexico within the next six months so time is running out for us. I should of mention i have family scattered thru Mexico from Mx city to piedras thing is i personally haven't been back since 2003 and my familia likes to add alot of cream on the tacos as they say i ask my cousin's and they simply say it's a mess id the law dont get you the narcos do. I've always liked Tampico Tam. but i read its a dangerous place that the taxis and police both kidnapp and that Americans just aren't safe here. I also love Piedras Negras since all we have to do is take a short drive to cross over to U.S. side but with the Zetas killing all those people in Allende im just afraid for my family. I would like to be in Coahuila but it seems like a lawless and dangerous state so we are hesitant about Coahuila. We would like to be at least a 5-8 hour drive to the U.S. Chivis i know you have alot on your hands with BB but all advice and intel is very much appreciated. Thankyou for taking time to help out.thanks and best wishes.

stay out of Tamps, the next 18 mos will have even greater violence as CJNG tries to oust Z. PN has been relatively quiet but I expect it will explode in the next 18-24 months.

Saltillo is apx 5 hrs or less to Eagle pass texas

  11. Chivis Yea . I don't agree . Bet they were selling it but got caught with it and aint very legal savvy . Thought if they said they were giving it away they wouldn't look as guilty . Didnt know the best explanation is no explanation . Bet their son got down there and shut them up . Could be Christmas gifts but we will never know unless they give people up . How many years they been hauling all this California weed across country .

    1. 11:31 I agree and disagree
I agree with you that they were selling it
I disagree when you say they didn't know the best explanation
The one they gave was pre planned and the one they thought would be best in case they got caught

  12. So many people harmed irrepairably by the govt that babbles continually about freedom, for a harmless herb provided by God. Patriots who hold their hands over their hearts when babbling their pledge, while they cheer their fellow citizens being dragged to the gulags, cops guzzling their beer & whisky, bemoaning the lazy dopers ... their chutzpah hypocrisy are limitless : {

  14. Pot legalization in the US will do a lot of good for the US.

But Mexico is already shipping only one-third of it used to ship. Shipments down 60-70%.

With pot legalization in the US, prices go down.

But violence is **UP** in Mexico since US began pot legalization:

  18. 8:19 new regulations erase the laws about having the best interests of the investors first and foremost and not the earnings goals of banks and money managers, that means your investments can be turned into commissions entirely and there will be nothing wrong about it.
Another is that swindlers and scoundrels are not responsible for the performance of their "products", Bernie Maddoff is ganna be soo happy
