Tijuana: 16 year old killed in targeted execution

16 year old boy killed as gunmen storm house

The violence lulls, the numbers shift, ebb and tide, but the killings remains.  The cruel realities of Tijuana and similar cities are omnipresent, any absence, any relief, is almost an illusion, a mirage, that exists and drifts away in the same breath.  Yes, killings in Tijuana were down last month, however, bodies still fall, and in the Colonia's beset by violence and everyday brutality, the bloodshed remains regardless.

Yesterday, in Colonia Reforma, in the alley La Escondia, a 16 year old boy was murdered, and his mother shot several times, though she survived, and was taken to a hospital.  The image is enough, a teenager crumpled on the floor of a small house, blanket around the neck, as blood leaks to the floor.  Difficult to imagine why a 16 year old needed to be murdered.  But here?  Many reasons.

Not paying piso, paying piso to the 'wrong' team, not paying for a few ounces of crystal, suspected of informing to a rival group or police, the list goes of infractions that are punishable by death.  The Mom could easily have been the intended victim too, and the son just collateral damage.  Or kill everyone in the home.  The cycle of killing and cruelty goes on.

Two men were murdered elsewhere in the city in the last day or so, and two more in Rosarito, leaving one wounded after an attack.  Despite record numbers of tourism during 4th of July, the two cities structures of corruption, greed, and violence remain unchanged.

Past the crime scene pictures, which capture the depravity and violence in a single frame, the disturbing behavior of the elite haunts me as much.  This doesn't have to happen, and when it does, there doesn't have to the silent, ignored reactions, where the victims are dismissed as criminals.  The political class and the social elite toast their glasses and have another drink, until one of their own is taken, and then there is an outcry.  Then there will be changes.

Apathy is a politicians greatest ally..
Politicians of not just Mexico need a severe reckoning for the venal, incompetent, and immoral shit job they do..
Right here on BB some were castigating Mireles for saying NO MAS and going against "law and order" Can people be that fuckin ridiculous ? They obviously have never lived under the almost medieval yoke of a cartel ? Meanwhile another throwaway Mexican kid dies in Mexico ?

      Ten billion dollars!
--El barbas did not have that kind of money, la chapa "is said to have 1 billion"; amado carrillo 25 billion all of which disappeared mysteriously, pablo escobar's treasury, lost...
It looks like trumped up charges is the marrow of the case against el mochomo, because epn and genaro garcia luna se andan cagando de miedo just thinking about el mochomo gets released, same as Mireles y la chapa.
--It is unbelievable how murdering even young men and children make so many millions of dollars for the narcos all over the world, while all the governments "try so hard to fight drug trafficking" with nothing to show for it but more crime...

    5. You really think Arturo didn't have 10 billion dollars ??? Your a fool , he learned the drug trade from Amado Carrillo Fuentes, he was his right hand man , he was also the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel for most of his life when CDS was at its prime , then he became a leader of his own cartel he was in charge of Guerrero ,Morelos ,Nuevo Leon , to make the list short over ten states in Mexico he build an empire with associates in every continent in the world . He didn't get the nickname "Boss of Bosses" by being a small time marijuana dealer or a sicario . If he was willing to pay 1 million dollars a month to one general in the Mexican army in Sinaloa just imagine how much money he was capable of producing just in those 10 states that he controlled but instead he made 10 times more exporting his products he was a true genius who is not being a recognized as such , yeah he was criminal but with a very developed sense of intelligence and determination to run an empire as the one he created

  12. It makes me feel sick. I've been thinking about this situation in my mind a lot. As 1:27 says, "another throwaway Mexican kid". That's what it comes to. I wonder what, if anything, we can do in the US to help, besides eliminating the demand for drugs with all of the addicts we have here clamoring for drugs. That would be a good start.

    1. The obvious answer is to legalize drugs.

      Delete
    2. "eliminating the demand for drugs" would pretty much solve the problem, but that is pretty impossible.

Much more realistic is: eliminating the demand for ILLEGAL drugs.

But of course such a sensible solution is not feasible in todays US narco politics of social control, big business and covert financing of shady ideological friends.

The mom was a piece of shit human being who sold Crystal to local junkies, I know this because they were my neighbors for many years. That mother sold two of her kids to pay a drug debt. The mother was behind this. The first time they tried to kill her some neighbor tried jumping in and paid with his death. They will eventually get to the mom. Last thing I heard was that she's going to be in a wheelchair now.
