Men linked to Sinaloa cartel arrested at Hooters with over 53 pounds of meth

The five men showed up at the Hooters parking lot in Ontario. But they weren’t there to eat chicken wings served by scantily clad waitresses.

Authorities said the men were associates of the Sinaloa drug cartel who were there try to sell 53 pounds of methamphetamine wrapped in 42 clear plastic bags.

The men, who were arrested Thursday by the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Investigation’s Inland Crackdown Allied Task Force, are accused of trying to sell meth to undercover officers, authorities said.

The five were arrested outside of Hooters on suspicion of transporting methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sales and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, KABC-TVreported. They were identified as Benjamin Machado-Morales, Heriberto Coronado-Martin, Eric Villareal-Aguilar, Eduardo Ruano-Alvarez and Hector Marroquin.

They are being held in San Bernardino County’s West Valley Detention Center, officials said.

The drugs had a street value of $2.6 million.

A 2014 report from state Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris’ office stated that California has emerged as the major gateway for methamphetamine into the rest of the country. It estimated that 70% of the U.S. supply traveled through state border crossings and linked Southern California gangs with Mexican cartels.

  1. It's a big area with lots of people, but I have to wonder if hector marroquin isnt the same guy who ran that anti-gang program while helping to a run a gang on eme's behalf. I think they green lighted him. But he struck me as the type to reinvent himself from cholo to CDS operative

    5. you are dumb to say Mexican Mafia aint shit because they only run the prisons...... you do realize anyone breaking the law is subject to going to prison and that is why EME is so powerful because in prison they will get you and your people but you can not get them. a lot of street gangs kick up to EME

    1. True and you have hundreds of take downs not reported for various reasons like further investigations and perhaps undercover ops. Just because you don't read it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Also this does mean quite a bit to any cartel. Had these men shown up without the product or money due to authorities taking it, they would have been killed by the cartel. Every ounce of this crap means something to a greedy person.

    2. Hola Sylvia! What ever happened to the crazy guy who used to claim he was allowed to talk about cartel stuff on your web site?

    3. Ok Chivis Longmire, since you asked, allow me to elaborate. Your reporting is insubstantial, stale or sensationalism.
Unfortunately, you are in the vast group of U.S. reporters who; are not concerned with facts enough to go beyond electronics to access news, are just lazy, or have a different agenda altogether. The latter being the worse scenario, but describes Breitbart. Its drug war “news” is there to create a racist, dogmatic narrative appealing to, and baiting extreme far right-wingers.

    4. To the other anonymous poster, hello! I haven't posted on my blog in a while since I started getting paid to write the same material elsewhere :). The AFO guy who was posting changed to a different person after some time. But believe it or not, a lot of his stuff checked out. I'm not a reporter, so it's not like I can use him as a source and cull info to report. I passed on his posts to my media contacts and they would try to corroborate as best they could. Who knows where he is now, lol?

  4. I've been saying this for years and nobody believed me. Last night a helicopter came from MX and flew over the Air Force base in SD, this prompted law enforcement tailing, they landed eyeshot from my job the copter hovered for a few seconds and took off. The men from the helicopter unaware of the police tail went to green burrito and ICE, FBI, SB Sherriff, and Chino PD surrounded and arrested them. This is not widely known as a police officer told me first hand that the Feds took it over. Things are bad in Chino/IE area

  12. Meth is worth 2500 to 3000 a pound in so cal and it maybe doubles or triples if you move it out of state (depending on what state) so saying that its 2.6 million worth of meth is VERY VERY exaggerated. Its maybe 200,000 worth of meth and thats over pricing it lol .... Cops just figure they'll have a stronger case against them if they say 2.6 million opposed to 200,000.

    1. I think they look at it from a retail, and not wholesale, perspective. They probably use economic multipliers in a model to calculate, oh wait, it's dumb cops. They just guessed.

    2. Sorry buddy but I think you are way off. Back in 2010 was at $14,000 why will they sell it cheaper?

Mayo is old, and all his Son's and Leader of Anthrax are material/expert witnesses for US Justice Dept against Chapo.
You mean to say that Guerro Palma brother has acted on his orders to lay ground for his return. Isidro, all these years has lacked backing and support from a Major Cartel. That's not gonna be an issue any longer, as Guerro is in line to take over Chapo's Market Share.
The 3rd player in the new Triumvirate is Caro. His financial and laundering holdings are vast, and he will through them behind whomever is strongest...

  15. Unless you're in prison, the cartels are running 'the business' on the streets and more of the larger organized gangs are cutting deals. It's all about the feria these days....
