A family feud in the Badiraguato Sierra

Last April Ernesto Guzman Hidalgo was assassinated in the mountains of Badiraguato, he was, the half brother of Joaquin Guzman Loera, the word or rumor is that, Aureliano Guzman Loera, El Guano, give the order to kill Ernesto.

It was speculated, that the settle of score, was because Don Ernesto was not reliable to run the structure of Guzman Loera. He was the father of Patricia Guzman Nunez, the wife of Alfredo Beltran Leyva, El Mochomo. Archenemies Guzman and the Beltran Leyva, hence the mistrust.

He died with his companion, Raul Astorga, near Bacacoragua, the land where Don Carlos Beltran Araujo was born, father of the Beltran Leyva brothers.

Eight months later, in the same area, eight men were killed, all at the service of El Guano and one of them, Cristóbal Muro Valdez, his chief of bodyguards. "It was the opposing groups, the enemy" it was said in Culiacan. But there is no "Enemy here". The area is one hundred percent controlled by the Guzman Loera group. So it is very likely that it is a family conflict. El Chapo Guzman and Don Ernesto were raised together and there was between them an endearing affection.

It is a complicated and murky history that should be clarify by the authorities, but what authority? The prosecutor's office did not report anything about the murder of Don Ernesto Guzmán and Raúl Astorga. He didn't do anything and give no public explanation. No perpetrators were presented, or at less suspects and, if anything, was done was done quietly and with fear, the forensic inquiries were kept to a minimum .

Just over a month ago, seven people were killed in the same area of Badiraguato. First they killed three and at the funeral, four others were killed. That incident was not even recognized by the authorities, so it wasn't entered in the criminal statistics that the attorney general writes on every day.

About the murder of the eight men killed on Saturday, Ríodoce received preliminary information that was then confirm. But as in other cases, the attorney general was just silent. General Moisés Melo García, a state coordinator of security, was asked about it and said he had no knowledge of the facts, he also said that he had called the Security Secretary of Badiraguato and that he had denied that there was anything going on. Genaro García, State Secretary of Public Security, said nothing either. Absolute silence. The main reason most be that the surnames terrified the authorities. And family feuds are usually devastating.

But the names of the dead and their ages are at the funeral houses, and we see the people mourning in the towns. So the silence of the state government is even pathetic, cynical, as if people will just swallow their lies. They died in Badiraguato and were from Badiraguato. So the idea is. "Let them fix their own problems" it seems a conviction. This is no man's land. They are not from Australia and the notes hardly appear on the news, not like those two young surfers who came to leave the skin in this hell, triggering global outrage and placing Sinaloa as a war zone in the world.

  1. To compare the death and media attention of the surfers who weren't involved in crime at all to these life-long crime figures is dumb. Violent death is often associated with being in the underworld so it's not news.

    1. However, for the authorities to do nothing signals how little exists of the rule of law, and how engrained violence is within the community, suggesting that nothing will change.

    2. Now you really are regurgitating the government line that there are no innocent victims. The one looking dumb is you ... dumbass!

    3. @12:50 if I can jump in here, did you not read the article? They're all criminals. In this case, there are no innocents.

    4. Horrible that you label them criminals. All these men were raised in this lifestyle. They may be brutal but this is what they saw growing up. Family feuds and violence. They too are victims. If the authorities haven't done anything about it in 2015 because of their surnames, they didn't do anything about it 40 years ago because these people were excluded from society.

    5. It's really not a secret that the Sinaloa authorities work for CDS. What could they do anyway? Chapo is the law there. Going after Chapo would be a bloodbath. Still, they must recognise and report on what is going on. Denying it tells the people of La Sierra they are not part of Mexican society and is inexcusable.

    6. Usually those who die a violent death, are not the worst people, the worst people are the best at murdering, while the puppetmasters laugh all the way to the bank, mouths and faces full of blueberry cake...
--for example, the chilango atracomulcans, they steal from everybody, while sowing hatred all over the country, against everybody but themselves or their "cartel de los pinos"...
--the people getting murdered now are not the suffers killers, police officers or impersonators have been accused, why mix their murders with these other murders done under government supervision, accompanied of their military occupation?
like michoacan, guerrero, tamaulipas, chuhuahua, more militsry and federal police arrive, the crime of all kinds increases disproportionaley, because it is the federal governme t behind it all, striking themselves on their pious chests...

    7. @8:19 your comment would imply that everyone who grew up in sinaloa is a drug dealing victim of circumstance. if you traffic drugs, which is against the law, that makes you a criminal. It doesn't matter if los Pinos does it too. That just m ears they're also criminals. I'm fairly liberal, but not so much as to make excuses and feel sympathy for cartel bosses. If I see a baby rattlesnake or poisonous spider, I'm still going to kill it, because it will just grow into a dangerous adult. Same with these criminals. Best just keep your mouth shut less you prove the racist trump right by saying everyone from sinaloa sells drugs and kills because they didn't have a choice, and so we should feel sympathy for them.

    8. 8;19 so sad that they were raised this way and become rabid because the don't know any better . I think its good these rabid bastards are killing each other off. They pray to the blessed virgin before they go out to murder . These people are deranged

    9. The bad news is the government is just sowing discord to reap a drug trafficking empire for the atracomulcans, without pemex, the mexican governing narco-mierdocracia is going to have problems generating money to steal, drugs will have to make do...

    10. I'm not defending drug dealers in any way. Poor uneducated Mexicans/Latinos have very few options; Cross the border and work in the garment industry, picking crops in the fields, washing dishes for 10 12 hours a day for less than minimum wage!!All honorable jobs but, you can work a lifetime and not be able to save enough to buy a plot in a commentary. So when young kids grow up seeing that crime pays and hard honest work does not it is not surprising why there is an endless workforce for the cartels. The government needs to create jobs so that Mexico can have a middle class. So that not only corrupt politicians and narcos can buy nice things. By the way NAFTA killed the small farmers in Mexico. The farmers from the sierras that would raise pigs and cattle and sell a few head a year to buy their year supply food. 70 of the beef consumed in Mexico comes from the US. 20-30 years ago people actually made money by growing corn and I am not talking about big agri- business style. Not anymore American corn is cheap and plentiful. The little guy is the one that looses in these big deals and its some of these little un-educated guys that head the big cartels.

    11. Once upon a time there was a criminal, judged by the peers of his accusers, found guty by his peers because they needed to go along to get along, denied by his disciples because it was "safe" at the time, and He was crucified...
so I guess the criminality is on the eye of the beholder...

    12. Unfortunately not all people living in that area are involved in the 'business' so regardless of names, innocents are being killed just for being with the wrong person or in the wrong place. Innocent is innocent whether your an Australian surfer or a Mexican! Bullets don't care and seems neither do the sicarios firing them..

    1. The beef is between an extended family that goes back to the BLO CDS fallout. Maybe all the military operations against Chapo are being traced back to his HALF sister side.

    2. How is Chapo stuck in the middle? He is suppose to be the boss of bosses and now he can't control his brother. This tells me Chapo is not in control and he powerless at the moment.

      Delete
    3. Amazing how dumb some people are...yes he is powerless thats how he tunneled out of a max security prison...He cant control every single person in Mexico. These family fueds go back along time and involve many people and many different families. Nobody knows whats really going on, but believe me if Chapo is still free he still has tremendous power in Mexico.

    1. Yeah well the problem here is that both Guzman and Beltran are from badiraguato. Beltran leyvas have gone into chapos land before , this time Aureliano killed mochomos father in law , it won't be long before chapo turns his own brother in to BLO or face a full scale war.BLO has proven to bring many casualties for CDS. Chapo has to either give up his brothers whereabouts or face a war with BLO and risk more family members killed

    2. @ 9:18 He ain't got to do shit. Blo does not give him orders so shut up with that shit

    3. La Tuna and La Palma are only miles apart,so I think both groups have influence in that area of Badiraguato. I dont belive its 100 percent Chapo.

      Delete
    4. @Gallo760 it's 100% Guzman. I can confirm. The only Beltran is Don Carlos. Eventhough he is the patriarch of the Beltran clan. Chapo ordered that he be left alone to tend for their land and ganado. Other than 02's murder by orders of Chapo the rest of the violence in the badiraguato hills has been a family feud.

  12. So where is this truce between BLO and Chapo? If Ernesto is El Mochomo's father-in-law where is the "respect" for BLO you Chapo nutriders claim there is? There is so much mistrust that you torture and kill your own half brother. Fuck what you pendejos say. Ernesto was tied up and there WAS signs of torture on Ernesto's body. Is shit in CDS that bad? Dickriders Your love for Chapo has blinded your common sense and judgement. There is no truce it's all total bullshit. The reality is that BLO is stronger and they are coming for it all.

  14. Thank you so much for posting this BB! I just didn't add up. A half brother of Chapo left dead with his pants down for no reason? Nobody else I could imagine doing that bit a fellow Guzman. Also, props for mentioning the surfers. All the comments about how these people are different because they are criminals is exactly the attitude that turned them to selling drugs. These people were excluded from society, so they created their own for better or worse.
Hope everyone at BB had a great christmas!

  15. BLO takes family member killed very seriously I think it was in 2008 when they tried to kill Mochomos son , he got away a couple of his bodyguards died but the federales on mayos payroll that participated in the shoot out all ended up dead. Looks like 2008 all over again but this time mochomos father in law was killed , for BLO to take revenge on el 02 Aureliano Guzmans main bodyguard means they mean buisness el 02 was old school CDS and he was up there in the ranks

    2. 3:09, that's scary enough just reading about it. Drugs are a deadly game, you reap what you sow. One of the galling things about the narco billions is they never seem to find their way to helping raise Mexico's living standards. Gifted pick ups, building the odd church or paving a road are all good things, certainly, but do nothing toward lifting people out of the same poverty they came from themselves. Where are the new schools and new hospitals? Instead of helping Mexico, they give the people narco wars...

  20. The murder of 02 was ordered by Chapo himself. He is pissed that Guano ordered the hit on their half brother. And as you might have guessed 02 carried out the hit.To some Chapo may be the biggest scum in Mexico but he will not kill his own brother. His mother would never forgive him. Guano has been sent back to the minor leagues and placed on the DL list till further notice. On top of killing their half brother he also ordered the hit on Barbarino who Chapo saw as family. Again Chapo would have never killed Barbarino there was too much respect between the two. Let's just say Guano was over taken by fear and mistrust that he used that as an excuse to kill those he never really liked but that his brother shielded from him.
