DEA cell phone interception sent Marina searching for "El Chapo" at Sierra ranch

by Lucio R. for Borderland Beat

"People are so scared" says Deputy Sanchez, unidentified in Today Show clip

A BB reader sent this video in from the Today Show.  He/she commented that, Of course being a US news source they don't mention the marines flew into the town shooting randomly and at 0:58 you see a somewhat familiar face described as "this woman".

Good eye, the "woman",  is no other than Dep. Lucero Sanchez, who visited El Chapo in prison, using false documents and allegedly is one of his mistresses and his youngest baby’s mama.

She says in the video “the people are very scared”……

That aside, there was a notable offering in the report, according to Today ,  U.S. DEA agents are the reason why Mexican forces have flooded the sierra’s.  They intercepted cellphone signals placing the capo at a specific ranch in the sierras on the Durango side.

When they raided the ranch, Chapo was gone leaving behind a cache of cell phones and clothing.

It has been reported that Chapo, along with Rafael Caro Quintaro and Isamel Zambada have a secure large region of land in the sierra’s that straddles Durango and Sinaloa states.  They are said to uproot frequently to evade capture.

It was DEA cell phone interception, that also pinpointed Chapo in Culiacán and Mazatlán in February 2014, directly leading to his arrest.

  1. El Chapo hasn't learned to stay off of the cellphones? You have got to be kidding me. He shouldn't even want a cellphone near him.

    8. @7:17 It's probably both. They catch somebody that gives up one of his numbers and then use stingray ismi catchers to pinpoint his location. They used them last time to find him in Culiacan and then catch him in Mazatlan.

You can read more about stingray's here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stingray_phone_tracker

    10. Chapo has about $8 million dollars on his scalp. I sure a lot of people would turn him in for that kind of money. To use the stingray they would have to know what area he is in. A Stingray has very very short range, less then half a mile. If DEA was listening to his phones for real they would never admit it. Could be they are trying to close down his communications by making him think they can track his phones.

The English came up with slurs for most nationalities that aren't British. There are far too many still bandied about, today, to the degree such derogatory words often get used without the speaker/writer being aware these aren't casual words--they have the power to hurt feelings, they offend people. 3. 7:11PM, With his boss's blessing, Jhon Jairo "Popeye" Velasquez Vasquez turns himself in to the Colombian authorities in 1992 as much to prevent his extradition as for his protection from Escobar's enemies, (Cali Cartel, Medellin's Ochoa brothers). Velasquez Vasquez is released from prison on conditional liberty in 2014.

El Modelo and la Picota, (nasty Bogota prisons), riot for 4 - 5 days close to 10 years, ago. Velasquez Vasquez gives testimony in 2008 which proves the government's and prison authorities' roles in these deadly riots. He, then, is moved into the Combita max prison outside the Colombian capital city. The unconditional release in 2014 results from this particular testimony. During, his incarceration, Velasquez Vasquez's first book is published. His confessions are chilling.

Luis Carlos Galan's assassination is carried out on Escobar's orders. Alberto Santofimio Botero, Colombian senator, former minister of justice, is whom convinces Escobar that Galan is going to be the next president. This would mean Escobar and friends are guaranteed to be extradited to the US. Santofimio is convicted twice for his part in Galan's tragic murder. One conviction is overturned in a district court. The second conviction sticks, because Velasquez Vasquez tells the tale. Only months, ago, Senator Alberto Santofimio gets a 25 years' prison sentence issued by the country's supreme court for his masterminding the Galan assassination. When, he's asked why it was so many years before he gave evidence against Santofimio, Velasquez Vasquez says, "My enemies were either in the ground or prison, Santofimio lost his power. I was safe, it was time to talk."

      Popeye Snitched?

You do not have to make a call to be tracked. Cell phones have GPS and can be tracked by the number if on for a location. As for 6:40, you need to watch border wars. They have a machine that can detect tunnels on the US side. You guys thought you were so educated, yet you have shown you know nothing about the updated US technology.

Its actually very hard to find tunnels with from above ground, no matter what you use, @6:40 pm is right. Tunnels are almost always discoverd at the entrances/exits, through suspicious activity, through public tips, rats, by accident, investigations, and the occasional cave-in sink hole which is rare.

    11. I know they've had technology for more than 20 years detecting underground oil pipeline leaks from small aircraft.Dont know how it works but assuming the computers onboard the aircraft detect a different component under the ground so if that is the case why not oxygen under the ground.Of course I don't think they are going to make that public.

    3. 😁 So your telling me the USA is tapping all cell phone calls in Mexico to Mexico too? Lmao. And they have to weave out fakes and sound alikes at a very quick speed to get hiM at an accurate time with location. First I dont know if that's even legal. Tapping into another country's phone lines at will. Second seems very difficult and third they have to get lucky. As long as they keep.changing phones frequently or even easier the phone cards the us has a very difficult task on them. If anything they are just trying to scare him out the mountains. And last but not least. I can't get good reception 10 min outside the city in USA. How is he using a cell phone in the middle of no fucking where?

THE MEXICAN GOVERMENT WILL NEVER ALLOW CHAPO TO GET CAUGHT. The only way to catch him is if the U.S never gives clues to Mex and just goes and catches him like last year. real spit

  37. It takes more than Chapo and Mayo to run the powerful cds cartel. Why all this effort in the sierras looking for Chapo and Zambada and yet no other high ranking member is being targeted and or much less captured? Do both the U.S. And Mexican governments think that by simply capturing one maybe two big shots is going to make a difference on the entire organization as a whole?

    2. From @8:49. Before Chapo got captured this second time I remember stupid retired DEA agents here in the U.S. being interviewed in some newspapers saying that Chapo was almost non involved in the drug trade anymore that Zambada was in control of most of the day to day operations of the cartel. After the capture other agents started saying the same shit about Zambada, that he was almost non involved in the business anymore! This shit is starting to sound more and more like a puppet show for the sake of saying that the "War on drugs" has not failed. The Marina can (and we are still waiting for this), go ahead and capture those four or five big shots like you say but untill I hear that the price of heroin or cocaine on the streets of the U.S. has skyrocketed and the availability has diminished particularly that coming from the cds then I will believe all the bull that people like you like to believe!

    1. Sort of. They did have to have somebody give up one of his cell phone numbers. Once they have that they use a stingray fake cell phone tower simulator that can pinpoint exactly where someone is. They used them last time to find him in Culiacan and then catch him in Mazatlan.

You can read more about stingray's here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stingray_phone_tracker

Besides it's virtually impossible to catch big bosses in la sierra nobody seems to get caught unless they go to culiacan. They can see everything in la sierra. But it's probably all a sham anyway.

  51. Drug smuggling is a 500 billion dollar business...it cannot be stopped .If you cant stop it ,you control it . EL Chapo is the chosen one to control it .by The USA government . Large scale drug smuggling was made possible by the CIA during the cold war to finance anti communist black ops in Latin America (Nicaragua Contras,Oliver North ) .....during the 2008 Economic crisis many banks survived because of the drug money they were laundering .The drug business will always exist and the US government will always control it .But they need a strong Cartel leader to allow it.

Only one bankster was imprisoned for robbing the country, crashing the economy. We'll be paying off this bailout until 2060. No worries, though, we'll be done paying off the Savings And Loans bailout from the mid-1980's in 2055.
