United States submitted an extradition petition for "El Chapo", two weeks before his escape

[ Subject Matter: El Chapo, extradition
Recommendation: no prior subject matter knowledge required]

The secretary of exterior relations, received on the 25th of June a petition for the formal extradition of Guzman Loera to be processed for the crime of criminal association in a Federal Court of California

El Chapos preferred form of tunnel transport: motorcycles on rails

Reporter: Milenio Digital

The Attorney General of the Republic, Arely Gomez, said that the Government of the United States solicited a petition for the formal extradition of Joaquin Guzman Loera on the 25th of June, 17 days before "El Chapo" escaped from Altiplano prison.

During a hearing before the twin house Commission for Security, the Attorney Arely Gomez said that the Secretary of external relations had received a diplomatic notice in which they solicit for the extradition of "El Chapo" to be charged with criminal association in order to import cocaine, in a Federal Court of California.

Arely Gomez said that he gave instructions to the areas of the PGR to analyse the petition, to attach the requisite legal requirements of the international treaty between both countries, and submit it before the Federal Judiciary.

Four day after initiating the proceedings, the PGR said that there have been significant advances, among them forensic evidence, of which there were 186, 143 of those were found in the tunnel and the rest in cell number 20.

  7. Hahahahaha! I had questioned before here on BB "why had the U.S. No pressured the Mexican government hard enough for Chapos extradition to the U.S. If he was considered public enemy number one after Osama Bin Laden"?. I got people telling me anything from the U.S. State department not Justice department handling the extradition, therefore not necessarily blaming the entire government as a whole but just the different branches for this occurrence. Another person had bought into the lies that we were respecting Mexico's sovereignty by not asking for Chapo! Hahahaha! In the end no matter what, the U.S. As a whole seems to talk a tough talk first of not helping Chapos cartel grow in Mexico and about its craving for having Chapo captured and extradited to face justice here when the facts of all these events only makes the U.S look like a liar!

    1. Chapo is a dead fucker walking. Shame on the US once, fuck Mexico the next.

    2. I still believe this is mainly a State Department decision. So, let me get this right, you now believe the U.S. story that the extradition papers actually arrived 2 weeks before Chapo started juking to Brazil? Pretty convenient cover story. But oh well, when the elephants are mating the monkeys stay in the trees.

      Delete
    3. The problem was and is for the US that the Mexican government has repeatedly delayed extradition on many wanted criminals. Also the US needed to determine which state would submit the request. Also if you have been reading as you claim, the idiot in Mexico charge of handling that said the US would not get him until he served 300 to 400 years for his crimes in Mexico. Either way it appears he would not serve that time. Whether in their prison or as now on the run. TThe US will do as they always do. Either locate him and snatch him up and sneak him across the border or drone. Either way Mexico will never know until after the fact. Also either way it is death for him. The treaty between the two countries do not include snatch and grab. Therefore that would make him eligible for the death penalty. It has happened with many other countries the US has treaties with. He best stay underground and never show his face again. His protectors will never know a drone is near.

The federal government confirmed yesterday that 16 days before the leak Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the US Government formalized the extradition request bonnet.

This was announced by Attorney Arely Gomez members of the Bicameral Commission on National Security for the gathering of more than four hours with officials of the Security Cabinet. According to the statement by the official, the petition was received on June 25 last through a diplomatic note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which EU made a formal request for the extradition of Sinaloa cartel leader, to be processed by the Federal District Court of Southern California for the crime of association conspiracy to import and distribute cocaine. Gómez explained that issued instructions to the areas of the PGR, to analyze the request and of being attached to the legal requirements and international relevant agreement by both countries, would be submitted for consideration of Power Judicial Federation, according to the corresponding procedure.

The Secretary of the Interior, Miguel Osorio Chong said the extradition was in processing.

"The request for extradition from the Prosecutor had a process and was not hidden, and they were following the process, "he acknowledged at a news conference.

  22. I'm sorry but I am glad that Mr. Guzman escaped or walked out. I'm tired of United States using extradition of bringing foreigners into United States to face justice. Hypocritical that it is. When a foreign country is requesting United States citizen to be extradited to its country, United States refuses. For example, Colombia requested Chiquita officials who were involved in giving thousands of AK-47s to right wing militia, but the United States refused to handover the individuals and kept their names sealed (because it involved high named officials). So why should foreign countries give up their own citizens to the United States when United States doesn't do the same?

He had people helping from the inside and outside, including his lawyer. There were many guards aware of this taking place. Many have this ridiculous imagination that he pulled this off with out prison personnel knowledge. Whatever. With a tunnel being built like that and a hole being made in his cell, it had to be noticed. Also as far as paying off the prison staff, probably not. Instead he threatened themand their families. Of course they were in fear. This is why he should have been in the USA. I would love to see an idiot build a tunnel through an area that is always covered in snow and ice.

Here in Mexico many of our house walls touch the walls of the house next to us. You can here very clearly when they put a nail in the wall or have an argument and try to keep it mellow so we cannot here it. But we do. Can you imagine how that noise would be intensified taking away that concrete toward the end? One prison guard to the other. What is that noise? Just rats says the other.

They were rats, but the human kind. Something is not right.

    ReplyDelete
  35. 3:15 Still considered an escape. Now the fact that he invested money in creating the tunnel to perhaps justify to the people the methods he used was brilliant. In addition, he paid all kinds of politicians. So technically the way it was planned all falls under escaping from jail. Yes, it is one of the top prison escapes ever.
