PGR will decide in one week if they are going to free Dr Mireles Valverde

Translated by Otis B Fly-Wheel for Borderland Beat from a Milenio article

[ Subject Matter: Dr Mireles, PGR
Recommendation: Some knowledge of subject matter would be useful]

The National President of the Citizens Movement, Dante Delgado, said that if the PGR do not desist from the accusations against the ex-autodefensa, they will commence legal action against Alfredo Castillo Cervantes.

Reporter: Ruben Mosso
The Prosecutor General of the Republic has asked for a week more to determine if he will desist or not in the penal action against the founder of the autodefensas of Tepalcatepec, Michoacan, Jose Manuel Mireles Valverde, informed the National President of the Citizens Movement Party, Dante Delgado.

He hinted that if the PGR do not desist from their accusations or carrying arms for exclusive use by the armed forces, they will commence legal action at an international and national level against Alfredo Castillo Cervantes, who was the Commissioner for Security and Internal Development of Michoacan, and who arranged that Dr Mireles be imprisoned.

In an interview at the end of a meeting with the Sub-prosecutor of Regional Control, of procedures penal and amparo, Gilberto Higuera renal, Dante assures that there exists the political will to revise the background of Dr Mireles case.

He also commented that the ex autodefensa was detained in an arbitrary manner and that authorities fabricated proof against him in order to move him to a prison in Sonora, where he has been for 10 months.

Next week, the PGR will decide if the institution will permit or not will be released for good from Prison.

Dante Delgado said that the meeting, could not be attended by the Prosecutor General Arely Gomez.

Later, in a matter of minutes, he will have a meeting with the sub Prosecutor General specialising in investigation of criminal organisations, Felipe de Jesus Munoz, with whom he will discuss various aspects of Security in Michoacan.

  1. I wonder if Mireles has any wealthy sympathizers who could pay off the judge? I know that's not right, but it's obviously how the system works...

    1. Mireles would be both please and horrified if a payoff was made on his behalf. The payoff would go against everything he stands for but it would be nice to be out of prison.

  5. Smoke and mirrors. In Mexico things happen just because or don't happen just because. There is no longer ANY RULE OF LAW. Failed Government. It's like they do this just to try to show there still is some law & orderand cover their asses, We trying..............

  6. I think they are not referring to criminal charges. If they wanted to bring those against Castillo, they could report what ever they think he has done to the police, and it would be up to them to arrest him.

The police would say the case has no merit, and due to government interference would not bring any prosecution. I think they are referring to a private civil action against Castillo. Hence the comment about bringing charges internationally as well as nationally. EPN will not want Castillo summonsed to a court in Mexico, as he helped appoint Castillo to the position. That only leaves bringing a civil action against him in an American court, or they could claim human rights abuses and bring an action against him anywhere in the world that is recognised by the Mexican Government.

  7. The US protects mexican criminals of all sizes...
--as long as they are involved in giving the store away, are politicians doing their bidding or are involved in drug teafficking, murder or whatever political scams that benefit their american partners, they will all enjoy sovereign impunity...
--and the human rights courts are under control of the US if they wanna get paid, like the UN, OTAN AND ANY AND ALL OTHER LETTER SOUPS...sorry...
--Chenaló/Acteal victims and survivors vs zedillo and his jundillo proves it...

  9. It is time to AUDIT the possessions of cash, property, and possessions of Afredo Castillo both domestic and foreign. Houses, businesses, investments, properties, stocks bonds, certificates of deposit, everything. Time to demand Castillo reveal under penalty of prison all values in offshore accounts, and all domestic accounts within his control.

  15. The Mexican government only responds to serious protests cause they bring the attention of the world to their corruption and abuses. Clearly, what they are doing with Dr. Mireles is a farce and abuse. Someone should be held accountable. I wonder if El Americano threatened to snitch against Castillo which is why El Americano was released so quick. If anyone should be in prison it should be Castillo. Someone should do some serious investigation on Castillo's life and back ground for other under handed and conniving misdeeds.
