United States Offering $5 Million for Z43

The United States Department of State announced on Tuesday, November 12, a reward of $5 million for information leading to the arrest of José María Guizar Valencia, whom they describe as a commander of a faction of Los Zetas in southern Mexico responsible for annually trafficking thousands of kilograms of cocaine and methamphetamine to the U.S.  He is known to use the aliases of "Amo", "Carlitos" and "Charly" (derived from Carlos, an alternate name he has used), "Chema", and "Z43".
The Department of State lists his date of birth as November 1, 1979 in Tulare, California, making him an American national.  A man by the same name and age was arrested in January 2001 at the Lucio Blanco international airport in Reynosa, Tamaulipas for possession of 9.035 kilograms of cocaine found in his luggage.  This José María Guizar Valencia was reportidly from Palenque, Chiapas.  While there is some uncertainty, circumstancial evidence makes it appear they are one in the same person.
What is certain is that "Z43" at some point was imprisoned in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, and escaped from there in 2005.  He then fled to Huimanguillo, Tabasco, where he went into hiding.  The events of his criminal career in the years thereafter have been unreported, but it is obvious that he was a member of Los Zetas who climbed in stature and power during that time.

His name began to surface on June 8, 2012, when Erik Cardenas Guízar, alias "El Orejón", was arrested while traveling on the Veracruz-Xalapa highway.  "El Orejón" would go on to confess to being a member of Los Zetas in charge of money laundering through construction companies in Tabasco and Veracruz.  Additionally, he provided testimony on the operations of Los Zetas in the region.  In this testimony he mentioned that "Z43" was an associate of Mauricio Guízar Cárdenas, alias "El Amarillo", and of Maxiley Nadales Barahona, alias "Z19".  It is worth noting that "El Orejón " claimed to be a cousin of both "El Amarillo" and "Z43".
On July 19, 2012, three members of Los Zetas, among which was Pedro Hernández Hernández, alias "El Chelo", were arrested in the municipality of Comalcalco, Tabasco.  "El Chelo" would confess to being an operations chief for Los Zetas who had previously been sent to Colombia and Guatemala by "Z43" to negotiate drug trafficking.

The information provided by "El Orejón" and "El Chelo" led to the arrest of "El Amarillo" on July 27 and, thereafter, "Z43", along with six associates, in Villahermosa, Tabasco, on July 31, 2012.  In the report of his arrest, he was described as head of the Tabasco plaza.  It is unclear how much time he spent in prison, though it was clearly brief, all things considered, which raises suspicion.

It was reported that in June 2014 Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho", leader of the Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación, Vicente Carrillo Fuentes, alias "El Viceroy", leader of the Juárez Cartel, and Fausto Isidro Meza, alias "El Chapo Isidro", who attended in representation of Héctor Beltrán Leyva, alias "El H", leader of the Beltrán Leyva Cartel, met with the leader of Los Zetas, Alejandro Omar Trevino Morales, alias "Z42", who was accompanied by "Z43", in Piedras Negras, Coahuila.  The purpose of this meeting was to form an alliance between these organizations.

Based on this, it is quite apparent that "Z43" is one of the highest ranking active members of Los Zetas, possibly even second in command, and the $5 million reward is quite fitting for this criminal that has managed to fly under the radar for so many years.

    5. 12:36 pm how do you know they are zetas? Did you asked them? I live in La Ladrillera and also have family in Nuevo Laredo, I've seen lots of young men stealing and robbing, but there is no way to know who they work for, everyone knows there are no gulfos in nuevo Laredo, only zetas, but the zetas are also broke, even the Trevino women have moved across the border and are working as dishwashers and waitresses in a local taco restaurant, the older ones are living with some heavy gulfos on Las Minas neighborhood, and they are really either driving old ass cars or riding the public transportation busses.

    7. 7:35 the trevino fam is not broke at all they have houses in many states in Mexico and pleanty of business the only family they have living in the United states live in Dallas... Just because your broke family is living in Laredo doesn't mean you know anything about what goes on there... As for how do I know those are zetas riding around I use to be one in my younger days and I have alot of relatives and friends who work for them all over Mexico and the US... The only thing you should take out of this comment is they are living their lives happily and you should just worry about making your own money your a nobody in this world they don't even know you exsist lol

    8. 5:45 pm, Jose's wife was the only relative of the Trevino s living in Dallas, she now lives with someone else in Garland, Tx, many of them live in Laredo, by Las Minas Rd (fm 1472) They are broke some of them tried to go to college and asked for financial aid, didn't even have a car. So they ain't doing anything, and the young ladies are waitresses at a restaurant.

Although they got it right that there are large independent and autonomously controlled zeta regions, and within those the 50/50 is still divided as two orgs, (drugs vs extortions etc) each having their own structure. But trevinos still at the top of the pyramid.

Before Lazca's death, 40 essentially controlled the south from VC down. later he moved up to Sabinas and gave up the south to chema and omar who would travel as 40 did back and forth. when 40 was apprehended then omar stayed in NE Coahuila, so I am assuming he handed direct leadership in the south to chema/43. (guizar valencia)

just a rearrangement, but not to just one person. I don't know. There is so little out there since Lazca. Lazca was the flash show and tell who fed into the novela drama, trevinos are not. They believe in getting the job done with as little noticeability as possible.

another interesting note, chema is not on any previous mex or US gov chart of top zeta leaders

Hoping you guys can forward some info....

Don't forget there are still a couple of OG Zetas out there like El Erotico, Jorge "El Chuta" Lopez, El Chocotorro, El Cuije, and Juan Vera Calva "El Vera". I know I am missing some more. El Erotico is still very active and supposedly he is in charge of el centro de Mexico.

Lazcano was lowkey treviño was the drama queen thats why chapo used to feel it necessary to leave mantas to el 40 even while lazcano was alive

El resurrected 43 gets made the jefe fall guy, knows about it, resents it, gets flipped to work for the DEA, & the highest guys get busted. Focus attention on the fall guy as a distraction, but go after the bigger fish (misinformation and disinformation). You just can't get away from law enforcement that many times without having inside help from an American organization hell bent on bringing down the entire madre. Those escapes & bribes seem too suspicious.

    6. I think they finally realized that to survive long term terror and intimidation doesn't work. History is full of examples of the people eventually rising up and fighting against brutality (ie. Arab Spring, Pablo Escobar, Roman Empire). In Sinaloa everyone knows our Mayors, city presidents, etc are on Cartel payroll but we keep reelecting them b/c the Sinaloa drug business is about drugs - not robbing the poor and weak, rape, extortion, sequestedores etc like los Zetas and Golfos have to rely on now days; and as a result neither have political allies in DF which are necessary to control major routes with protection.

(That is 9 metric tons or 19,919lbs - this guy truly is Houdini - or I guess he wasn't cause he was caught) Seeing as you could only carry up to 23kilos per person and will have to pay extra for any overweight piece thereafter, I would imagine it would have been less of a hassle and less just to pay the Army their 10k so that they could escort it to Reynosa much more safely.

"The Zetas is a powerful cartel & like it or not they are knocking CDS off there snakes boots."

All of the recent CDS arrests seem to indicate a rupture in relations between CDS and the state/federal officials it colludes with. There is no indication whatsoever that the Zetas are responsible for weakening the CDS or that they're "knocking" them.

"Los Zetas will never disband even if 42 & 43 are caught."

Sure, sure. Every thug says some variation of this. "You can't stop us!" "This ain't never gonna end!" What happened to the Caballeros Templarios? Arrellano-Felix Org? Criminal organizations come and go. Usually it's not because leaders are arrested but because their connects are disrupted, their plazas taken over, and their profits eliminated. Zetas will be no different, trust me. I used to live in LA and every banger would brag about how their gang would last forever. In reality, there are hundreds of gangs that have just gone inactive, disbanded, disappeared, or been pushed out of their territory (often as a result of gentrification and not other gangs coming in). You ain't as bad as you think you are.
