Possibly 30 Years for Canadian Narco with ties to Sinaloa Cartel and the Mafia

By Chivís Martínez for Borderland Beat
Canadian Drug Kingpin , Jimmy Cournoyer, with Ties to the Rizutto and Bonanno Crime Families, the Hells Angels and the Mexican Sinaloa Cartel Plead Guilty in 2013 to Narcotics Trafficking Crimes Carrying Sentence of 20 Years to Life and $1 Billion in Forfeiture.

He will discover his fate on August 20th when his sentence will be handed down.

However, U.S. feds are now seeking a 30 year sentence, arguing that a lighter sentence would amount to little incarceration time for Cournoyer, due to the fact he has elected to spend his sentence in Canada. Canada has a very liberal probation system that would drastically cut actual time spent behind bars.

Pointing out that Cournoyer "had a cadre of high-priced lawyers in Canada and the United States working to intimidate and threaten underlings into not cooperating with authorities. Various lawyers helped monitor several criminal cases related to Jimmy Cournoyer's massive cross-border drug trafficking network, probing for tips about investigations, warning co-conspirators against testifying and even offering 'bribes,' pay-offs and implied threats of harm to themselves or members of their families," say prosecutors.
Cournoyer feared his 1.2 million dollar Bugatli would draw attention from law enforcement
French Canadian Jimmy “Cosmo” Cournoyer was living the life Chino Antrax thinks he had.

A Canadian “narco newbie”  at the age of 21, and until his arrest at age 33, he developed a billion dollar marijuana business operating a business with associates such as the Hells Angeles, Sinaloa Cartel,  and New York’s Bonnano Crime Family while being back by Montreal’s Rizzuto mob (Vito Rizzuto below left).

Cournoyer was part of an operation with the mafia on both sides the US/Canadian border that involved in a vast cross border trafficking that channeled Canadian ecstasy and weed to New York, then using  the profits in purchasing  Mexican cocaine, which was shipped back to Canada.

U.S. Federal prosecutor Steven Tiscione stated “the illegal narcotics distributed worldwide by members of the criminal enterprise have a retail value of more than $1 billion… conservatively.”

U.S. charges the Cournoyer network specialized in growing and distributing potent hydroponic marijuana harvested in British Columbia.. The marijuana was then transported by Hells Angeles, in motor homes and trucks, across Canada.

By 2009, he sent at least 1,000 pounds of hydroponic cannabis a week to New York, most of it to a Bonnano associate.

The biker gang and the Montreal mob then smuggled the marijuana from Quebec into upstate New York, where trucks delivered it to a warehouse in Brooklyn, authorities and sources said.

Cournoyer acquired his $1-billion drug empire by “gaining control over ports and customs checkpoints through a combination of covert operations and outright political corruption” and abusing “sovereign tribal lands” on First Nations’ reserves “that are almost impossible to police,” prosecutors said.

Additionally, he maintained a 2 million dollar execution fund, used to eliminate known or potential informers.

Cournoyer was apprehended by Mexican police on Feb. 16, 2012 when he landed in Cancun for a planned vacation.

Cournoyer’s  Brazilian-Canadian model girlfriend,  Amelia Racine’s (at left) jailed brother, Mario Racine, was reported to be acting as the kingpin’s trusted lieutenant.

  4. Chino Antrax was living that lifestyle, showing it off online is the reason why they caught up with him so easy. I am guessing same goes for this guy. All these young cats need to realize that by being way too flashy and social networking on the internet, they are exposing themselves. Kind of like asking to get caught, "here I am come get me" type of attitude. Nothing bad with enjoying your money. But once you enter this business, you have to realize that you will have to live low key, always maintaining yourself under the radar if you wan't to last a long time in that kind of business. Beginning with, never admitting that you are who you really are, specially online. This will only thicken your case and make it easy for the judge to consider you guilty. C'mon, you go to another country and pretend your a whole different person, but on Instagram you are admitting that you are who you really are by showing off where u are at, what you are doing and what you are wearing. It will take authorities minutes to connect the dots and take a wanted individual who has done these actions down.

The cars and boats all that shit was borrowed you can see some of the pictures he's just standing and posing in beside cars that are obviously in a damn car show expo. There is an article where they state el hijo del mayo would let him barrow his cars.. Study well all his pictures and you can see it. I'm not knocking the dude Im sure he packs! But not all that shits true just like corridos..

  5. Antrax was al smoke and mirrors, this guy is the real deal. Have you even read about him? Look at the numbers. He did not have to sneak up on famous people to get in a photo, Cosmo has A list stars and the famous at his parties like Leonardo Dicaprio. the reporter is correct, selfies with a few high end items and photos replicated off the net, does not make a billion dollar enterprise.

You need to get out more to know the difference.

I believe this guy's was making waaaaay more than that joto Chino antrax, you're completely wrong.

    7. Chino antrax didnt get raised with a silver spoon in his mouth with choices of the "free" world. He was a hit man who grew up in it and never knew anything else, and this guy was a white drug dealer. Two different sides of the spectrum. Chino changed and set a precident for the lifestyle of a boss sicario. People wrote songs for him that never even met him. NO COMPARISON. One was on the front lines of a fierce full on war and the other was safe and sound in Canada hahaha! Fucking Canada who is affraid of Canada?

    11. Mexican cartels will wage war on your military, assaulting military convoys head on and getting killed in the process with thousands of bodies to spare! look at all the hitmen and bosses being killed and captured in Mexico and the cartels still have their territory so yea just one cartel would destabilize your region...cartels run shit and make shit happen!

      Delete
    12. The blackwater merc got a good laugh from that comment.IFthe us military wanted to,it could OWN Mexican cartels and the campisinos? Don't make them laugh.your boys RUN from the autodefensivos, and like that comment said, try your shit in Canada and see what happens..they are Not defenseless avacado pickers

      Delete
    13. Cartels can destabilize Canada or the US? US military is not the Mexican military and the US police departments are better equipped than their Mexican counterparts. Cartel heads are too smart to wage open war on the US government. Remember Pablo Escobar? Remember 911? What did that do for Sadam and Bin Laden? IMO it sent them straight to hell alittle sooner than later. Its all good and seems easy in a video game, but reality is something totally different. Especially when the Green Berets, Navy Seals and Deltas are looking for your ass.

      Delete
    14. Hahaha Navy Seals and Deltas are getting killed in Afghanistan by guys in sandals and turbans! mexican cartels don't care to fuck with the U.S. they're killing their own selves consuming the dope that gets sold to them and I wonder why the U.S. hasn't intervened in Mexico when it's so close??? hmmm... maybe cause fighting cartels in their own territory isn't in their convenience especially when they dont know the land! remember those ice agents that were in Mexico that got hemmed up quick?? what about those C.I.A. agents that were being escorted in a top level armored vehicle? yea they got shot up by federal agents and turned around quick and said that they will never return. So yea the U.S. only fights where they know they can win and they would get eaten in guerrilla warfare!!!

      Delete
    15. Dude who do think invented guerrilla warfare in North America. How do you think we won the Revolutionary War against the British? There is no money in kicking the shit out of your neighbor. We may need you some day. There has been approximately 7,000 US servicemen and women killed in the war in Afganistan/Iraq. There has been over 1 million insurgents, Taliban and Iraqi military killed. Do the math. Obviously you didn't do to well in that subject while you were school. You have to know what you are talking about before you comment bro.

  6. Eh! Jimmy Cournoyer is Canada's version of Chapo Guzmán. Unlike Chapo though, his time in prison will be more like a stay at club med than hard time due to Canada's soft corrections system. He will enjoy his billion dollars in his short stay in prison unless he is extradited to the U.S.A. He probably has his money in some Brithish Caribbean island bank where it is out of reach of the jurisdiction of the U.S. DOJ. Laissez les bonnie temp roulez!

    4. Cosmo is Canada's version of Chapo Guzmán. Didn't say he is at Chapo's level. He probably isn't even at the level of the late Carlo Gambino of the Gambino crime family. However, in regards to Canada, Cosmo is as big as it gets. Your talking about a country of 34 million people. Chapo's market's were the 315 mil. and 120 mil. of the U.S./Mexico respectively. No comparison. That's not even talking about his distribution network he has in Europe, Asia, etc. Believe it or not though, there is American capos even more powerful than Chapo and those won't ever set foot in prison. And one more thing. You can't classify 1 bil. USD/CD as nothing.

Fugitive kingpins go through periods of both luxury and modesty. That goes for Matteo Messina Denaro too. And what was that you said about Chapo and his tunnels? There are, however, plenty of cases of atonement, of where some of these so-called "low-lives" actually end up *helping* society, even being unofficial "police" and protectors of those who the official powers have abandoned. There are cases where "criminals" (ie. narcos specifically) realise the damage their lifestyle is doing and actually turn around and try to put things right, using their influence to prevent others from doing crimes. Do you think a top kingpin wants *everyone* to end up like a mexican cartel youth-sicario? No, it's just madness ... people need to be more responsible for their own actions towards others, regardless of whether they are criminals or not. Once this happens, society tends to turn away from the mindless sickness mexico and thousands of inner-cities are enduring. It's NOT just the criminals responsible here ... there are "enablers" and twisted people everywhere, legit, rich, poor, criminal, everything. I'm not one to go for robin-hood fantasies but tbh people like Chapo, well I think he acts as a deterrent to some criminals. Can you honestly look at Chapo and *wish* you were like him or being "interrogated" by him? No. Chances are when you read about these kingpins, the horror of mexico's situation will put you off crime and violence for a long, long, time. Put it this way, I have problems even watching a violent movie. Deep down I know it's just tomato ketchup and blank rounds but it still makes me queasy, especially when I see kids glorifying these crappy fantasy movies where violence is normal and justified. Anyone whose seen real-life violence first-hand will know what I mean. That sick feeling before you go to sleep, the worry, the inappropriate outbursts of anger, the flashbacks, etc.. Hell is on earth right now and we could even be looking at WW3, maybe even worse... We all need to take a deep breath and stand back before we all fall into the abyss and drag everyone with us. Doesn't matter if you're "criminal" or "legit". Still need to take that deep breath and THINK about where we are all headed.

    2. And the biggest bunch of snitches too. Don't forget that. They did a real good job getting rid of the Zetas....oh wait the Zetas are still around. Well they got rid of AF, CF and BLO...nope not them either. BLO is taking the Sinaloa state piece by piece. CF is purging Sinaloa from Juarez and most of Chihuahua. AF is moving on them in Tijuana. It was good while it lasted but the reign is over.

Anyhow, there will be a slight disruption in the EC mj availability.

    1. Obviously you do not comprehend my comment. I never said He had anything to do with 911. I said "what did it do for him". The answer is it gave Baby Bush an excuse to invade Iraq. So did the lies about weapons of mass destruction. Personally I don't watch fox news but the thing I am is an arrogant US citizen who doesn't take kindly to people bashing my country. Your use of words may impress the other readers but to me it's just confusing jargon that implies you have watched too much TV and played too many video games. And I take offense to your use of the word "boy". Where I'm from using that word can get you a serious beat down.
