Tijuana cartel using Colombian sicarios...In Peru?

Tijuano for Borderland Beat
Hugo Quintanilla, executed in Peru by a Colombian hitmen.

The man executed almost a month ago while driving his Lamborghini in "Guatemala" and erroneously identified as Omar Treviño Morales aka Z-42 by Blog del Narco was in fact executed in Peru by a Colombian sicario hired by the Tijuana cartel. (You can read Chivis report on this by clicking HERE)

According to several Peruvian news sites, Hugo Quintana Bardelli aka "Negro Hugo" was executed by a group of hit men sent by the Tijuana cartel, the apparent reason behind this was 50,000 USD allegedly stolen by Quintana Bardelli from the Tijuana cartel.

According to reports, "Negro Hugo" was executed while driving his black Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder by a group of sicarios led by Colombian citizen Enrique Rodriguez Fernandez who has already been captured and who, according to the reports, claims he did it on behalf of the Tijuana group. The hitmen used AKM rifles and Mini UZI.

Hugo Quintana Bardelli was of Italian descent, Quintana was investigated in 1999 by Peruvian authorities for drug trafficking, he was also charged in 2008 with human smuggling to Italy, taking advantage of his wife´s job inside Italy´s embassy on Peru.

Tijuana cartel in Peru

The presence of the Tijuana cartel in Peru is not new, they have a bad reputation there for committing very public executions to send messages to those who could try to get in the way of their businesses.

Back in the days of Fujimori, the Tijuana cartel was known to be a close partner of Vladimiro Montesinos, the strong man of Fujimori and chief of the Intelligence Department in Peru. In those days, Montesinos gave full support to the Arellano Felix brothers, even allowing them to use Peruvian military bases to store and ship the cocaine to other part of the world.

Vladimiro Lenin Montesinos.
According to an investigation by the Peruvian anti-narcotics agency (DINANDRO), Ramon and Benjamin Arellano Felix bought up to 19 tons of cocaine to Vladimiro Montesinos who used to ship it to Mexico via Yucatan on its way to the port of Tampico, in Tamaulipas where it was to be shipped on containers to Europe and Egypt.

Going some years forward, in 2006, the Tijuana cartel was blamed with the execution of a Peruvian judge who was in charge of the trial against 25 members of the cartel, several cases were lost as a result of that execution.

Cocaine shipment seized on its route to Belgium
In 2012, Peruvian authorities seized 1 686 kilos of pure cocaine on their way to Belgium, the shipment, worth 101 million USD, was blamed on the Tijuana cartel.

    2. A movie sure too bad that wasn't no advertisiment for anything it was put up by a cartel and there was a second that read "dying for drugs"
BMF had a couple in Atlanta that read the world is bmf those were paid for and brought the label that was a front for the drug organization down.
Someone has been proposed an offer and has been avoiding whoever put this up so this is basically giving them a last chance to reconsider the offer. I think thats getting the message across clearly.

    Well, on his mother side.
    Not the Quintana side.
Just wonder what relevance the ancestry of this person had to do with the execution.
Besides, there are thousands of people with an Italian side in Latin America.

  21. Chivis, you got this guy story wrong, seriously do you really believe that a guy that bought a $250k Lambo cash, a brand new Porsche Cayenne for a reality tv mistress (who also is the girlfriend of a popular peruvian soccer player), would have any problem paying a $50k debt, I doubt it. Now consider the fact that law enforcement went bat crazy in finding and locating the assassins, would suggest this guy was not run of the mill criminal. News circulating indicates that this guy was a narco double agent, being a confidential informant for the DEA and having a free pass to move drugs. It's being claimed that he was the catalyst for a major 622 kilo bust in a condominium in the Peruvian city of La Molina and make matters worst the Lambo he got killed in was purchase by him directly from the son of the top cop in Peru, comparable to our Attorney General here in the U.S. Lastly this guy narco history goes way back to the Alberto Fujimori regime in which he corroborated with the former intelligence service chief, Vladimiro Montesinos in transporting drugs into Mexico. Read up on this guy and you'll see that he was working for the DEA or with their blessing.

  25. @6:56

The article does not mention he owed them, it says he STOLE it from them, the article you mention is from May 4th, the sources I used for this write up are from May 6th when it was announced the Colombian was captured.

Right now I´m trying to follow this case since it seems so rare to me.

The Peruvian police said they couldn´t corroborate who the arrested was and they aren´t giving any more info.

Sadly the narco news in Peru are even more difficult to come by than those in Mexico, everyone tells a different story so it gets kinda hard to see whats really going on.

    @May 22, 2014 at 11:47 AM

I stopped writing about it since there was a lot going on health wise with me, and many people bitched about it too. I promise I´ll go back to it and finish it soon.

  30. Tijuano, I have told readers on multiple occasions, well meaning corrections are welcomed, but trashing us or the site gets tiring and many good people just say the hell with it.. Last night I had a couple of nasty complaints and I just turned the computer off early. They have no idea how many hours and days of research this involves.

But I can say, 99% of the people appreciate us, so I try to remember that. It gets old though.

  32. 9:18 maybe delegating would make it easier for youses, having trusthworthy replacements ready to cover the bases helps.
also if it is not much to ask, if we could have a system for rating comments, like thumbs up or down, would prune the posters, some of which are just despicable, and some of which are wonderful and appreciated by many readers, like mine...
-why sacrifice the many wonderful reasonable readers to the strained frustrations of a few nobodies?
--don't worry about me giving up, i love this site just the way it is, too good for some of us, quickly approaching 44 million visits, many of whom don't go anywhere else...
--keep in your mind that detractors are bitter because nobody likes them, nobody visits them, very few blanketyblanks agree with them, and they do not have any wit or imagination, pray for their frustrated souls, and grow up to the size of the challenge, that is where the fun is, not exactly on winning...

    @May 23, 2014 at 12:48 PM;

Apparently, he had to give that money to some drug mules who were to take cocaine outside of Peru but he kept it for himself, it looks like he was the middle man in charge of getting mules and received a payment to give it to the mules who either didn´t get it, or got a fraction of it.

the reason many lambos, diablos, bentleys etc are being driven around in mexico and south america, is because the chinese are fabricating them, the whole knock-off costs them $1,000.00 usd and sell it for $100,000.00 usd
we should all be able to have one poster of each at least ...
regarding lenin montesinos, he is in prison doing like 15 years? with fujimori, for nailing abimael guzman the famed leader of sendero luminoso they should be bunking together, but in reality montesinos was arrested for his bad taste in hooking up with la calaca de televisa, laura de america,
mmh, any cocaine trafficking peru/televisa laura seems to be still very well connected after the plug in, with televisa, no less, and their traveling vans...

  38. raised in tijuas since 1962, seen it all grow from a couple hundred thousand in population, to the millions of today. i grew up with the times in tijuas, and i came to witness and hear about gente brava, gente importante, gente de aqui and gente de otros lados come and go. tijuana today like always is dominated by the mob of the industrialistas e inversionistas, the people with the money are the real tijuana cartel, and as usual the people with the badge have been the enforcers., right now what has happened since the brought down of the arellanos and the battles that took place with el teo and muletas, is that sinaloa operates here en masse, but they leave the local market to the little league, and they pay the rent to the local tijuana mob., that's all that is., just about all the lower rank and soldiers operating for the sinaloa are all puro tijuana born or raised people, and yes, once upon a time they all threw in with the tijuana cartel brand, but now there's no such loyalty to that brand in the colonias, it's all little league cagada, but the big traffic is done on the quiet side., all good and well as long as the renta de plaza keeps getting payed by outsiders., there's a long lost saying in tijuana that it is still adhered to by those from around here in high and low places, the slogan is "Locals Only!" It will alwasy be Locals Only, no matter how much someone else claims to run things. The Local Tijuana Mafia will always control this border town. If you don't play with the locals, you don't get to do business here or through here, simple as that. Just like the old days of la ocho, la mesa, el senor gallardo, el senor contreras of the 1980s, tijuana has always done business con quien page!

  39. Speaking of Vladimiro Montesinos; where has he been? After he was arrested in Venezuela with Chavez's blessing supposedly because he
didn't pay the right people for protection, they sent him back to Peru and
he dropped off the face of the earth. The story go's that he had so much "Dirt" on politicals that were still in power that he was either "Offed" or they buried him so deep in their judicicial system that he won't ever see daylight. This guy was the Real Power and Fujimori was nothing but a puppet president! Sounds logical since if Fujimori really had his finger on the pulse of Peru he certainly wouldn't have voluntarily left Japan on a whim and a prayer that "All Was Forgiven" back in Good Old Peru!
