Zetas: San Fernando Plaza Chief Captured with el Tiburon and el Choforo

Chivis Martínez and "Lacy" for Borderland Beat

It has been reported,  that (alias) Goyo Villafranca  has been captured.  Villafranca is the plaza chief for the Los Zetas Cartel.

San Fernando is the Tamaulipas municipality used by the Zetas as ground zero for their human trafficking operation. San Fernando is the site where 265 migrants were kidnapped and murdered.  The number of 265 is the death toll from two incidents, one is the 193 bodies discovered in mass narco fosa (graves).

Also counted in the 265 tally are the 72 migrants slaughtered and left at an abandoned San Fernando ranch.  Most all of the migrants were economic migrants from Central America travelling through Tamaulipas on passage to the US.  Most were kidnapped from buses originating from various states and passing through several Tamaulipas cities.

Villafranca has worked under the direction of Sergio Ricardo Basurto Peña “el Grande “, who is thought to be one of the newly appointed lieutenants, working under the new leadership of Omar Treviño Morales, aka Z42.  Omar is the brother of the Zetas premier leader Miguel Treviño aka Z40,  captured at 3:45AM on Monday.

The capture was executed in a cooperative and united effort of the state SSP, the Mexican Army, Navy, and  PGR

Two others were with Villafranca, and also arrested, they are thought to be el Tiburon and el Choforo (above left), who were also heavily involved in the kidnapping and killing of migrants in the region.

With this planned, organized capture, it would seem apparent that either someone is singing or as I suggested previously the US is wooing EPN with additional "gifts".

  8. there was an article floating around at one point talking about the unites states plan to capture chapo but it was rebuffed by mexican authorities. i think chapos money at this point has probably bought himself all the security he will ever need unless the us acts without the aid or approval of the mexican goverment.

  11. The reason the Zs murdered those migrants was due in part in the misguided belief that they were on their way to CDG territory inorder to become estacas, or hitmen, for them. North of San Fernando is Villahermoso. Many a Zeta and Golfos were trained at Villahermoso inorder to become soldiers for the CDG and Zetas before the split. Both cartels are known to use C.Americans as hitmen; in fact, Kaibiles, Guatemalan special forces, were recruited to become Zetas by the original group, and served as personal bodyguards for Z-3. That is why those migrants were being killed by the Zs in 2010/2011 respectively. They were mistaken as new recruits by the Zetas at the height of the CDG Zeta war.

    1. True and that's the exact same reason they killed those in the mass graves that they pulled out of the buses. They checked everyone's phones to make sure they weren't cdg yet they still killed everyone in the buses in what they called "gladiator wars".

  13. Chivis. Sorry bro but i think you're wrong when it comes to "gifts" its pretty sad that someone would believe that anything accomplished by the mexican government is a gift by the u.s. unless the mexican gov would say so idk why you would assume that. Like where do you get that from? Like when they killed pablo escobar for example the u.s. tried to say they were present. They were present in the city but guess who found out his location. A columbian. the son of the captian of medillins police at the time. No one believed he tracked him down but he begged his father to send help and thr americans stayed on base because they didn't believe it. I'm not sure why i have a hard time believing they're gifts. i would seriously go further into depth about this so i may be a little more credible but I'm at a jack in the box typing this out of my mobile phone. lol

  14. glad to see z's are crumbling all mexico needed was a U.S. predator drones too bad they didn't just missile 40 to pieces -- truck pieces would of been all that remained. I guess the z's will have to start writing letters if they don't want to be tracked.

even if you buy 10 prepaid phones the U.S. can still track you.

  16. @July 19, 2013 at 3:22 PM

US said they could pull off some operation similar to Bin Laden's capture where they would swoop into Chapo's suspected hideout and arrest him in 15 minutes. Mexican military said no way, we don't want foreigners doing military operations on Mexico soil and they're correct.. would be crazy to let US commandos run all over Mexico.

There is also another security issue. If you take out a top level guy or disrupt existing cartel networks you then create destabilization in the whole region when sicarios battle it out for control in the power vacuum. If Chapo isn't beheading people for lulz like Z40 was doing, killing US agents and stringing up bodies on overpasses, then Mexico doesn't care if he's selling drugs to Europe, Asia, Canada and US. Somebody is always going to be selling drugs might as well work with the lesser evil instead of letting the whole region explode into ultra violence.

American's don't think this through, they just want their wanted guy arrested so they can make him a poster boy for the war on drugs and continue to get billions in funding from taxpayers fighting a hopeless "war".

Sinaloa aren't even selling that much to the US anymore, they consider it a dead market and set up direct routes to Canada/Europe and UK. None of those countries extradite or care where the coke comes from. Only the US polices the world.

  19. Wow Americans really get worked up over Z40 and his corporation. I think the drug problem is here in USA. But its cool to do drugs and make funny movies here in America

  20. Remember Chapos manta saying 40 was El Judas because he was selling out all the big time Z plaza bosses to the DEA? Chapo was spot on. Zetas as a major criminal organization will cease to exist in a year or 2 at most in my opinion. Once the Z cells jump ship to other cartels CDS will concentrate on eliminating CDG. CDS will run all of Mexico and South America in at most 5 years. This might actually be a good thing despite all of the blood shed the midget has caused over the years. What you guys think?

  21. U wrong man for the mantas fue el talivan this foo sienpre culpo al 40 de traicionero and cds y cdg still together and this war encontra las ratazZ ..

  22. "Control the drugs, control the politics." Human trafficking is the deal breaker. Stealing money from the poorest of the poor, who were prepared to endure hells just to get to the states for jobs that amount to slavery, but get raped & killed instead takes the devil's work to new levels. Snitch, bitch & itch-who cares? Esta paranda de hijos de putas mal paridas aren't outlaws, they're outsiders- outside the human race. If, what the gentleman has said in the above with respect to Sr. Guzman's being in charge in 5 years time comes true it would be for the best. If, the Ochoas, Uribe, & the Z were totally out of the picture this would be much appreciated by Colombia.
