Zeta Cartel Strikes in Sinaloa: Seven Dismembered Bodies Found

Mexican police have found seven dismembered bodies in a Pacific Coast state where the country’s most-wanted man is battling its most aggressive drug cartel.

The attorney general’s office says the bodies were found early Tuesday in Sinaloa along with a message accusing authorities of cooperating with drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

Guzman is head of the Sinaloa cartel, and the letter’s wording suggests that it may have been written by the Zetas cartel.

The bodies were found stuffed into 13 black garbage bags and dumped in a residential area, authorities said. The victims were dressed in police uniforms but authorities confirmed none of the people killed were actually officers.

The Zetas have launched tit-for-tat attacks on Sinaloa strongholds since Sinaloa cartel gunmen and their allies moved in on Zetas turf.

Last week, suspected Zetas took the unusual step of using an airplane to drop thousands of leaflets accusing Sinaloa’s governor of taking orders from Guzman.

It is the most gruesome instance of drug cartel violence since the decapitated, mutilated bodies of 49 people were found strewn across a Mexican highway earlier this month.

The victims had their hands, feet and heads cut off. The Zetas cartel is also thought to be responsible for those murders, living up to their title as one of Mexico’s most deadly cartels. Police eventually arrested Daniel Jesus Elizondo Ramirez, also known as “El Loco” or “The Crazy One,” in connection with the killings.

It is becoming seemingly impossible to keep track of the death toll in Mexico’s drug war, which is now around 55,000 since December 2006. Roughly 50,000 additional people have disappeared.

  1. This was not the zetas it was the BL crying again for cause Chapo has the resources at hand to take them on. The people dismembered were residents of Guasave which is under control of the BL. Sources from that place say that it was the BL own ppl that they killed, it is common now a days for the BL to turn on their own people, they are scared of people who turn on their own and want to prevent that. As soon as they think someone is working for the other team they kill them. All the people in the picture have residences in Guasave.

  11. If these dead are CDS why don't the zetas or whoever murdered them leave a list of their names and positions in the cartel.
If cartels go after family members and girlfriends of low level members of other cartels,(which they do) why is not tevino or lazca or chapo family members not targeted for kidnapping and murder.
Perhaps they have an agreement to only kill low ranking family members in rival cartels...the nobodies...the cannon fodder.
    Anyone know.

  12. What u guys are failing to see it doesn't matter who did the killings wether it'd be zetas or BL all it is doing is bringing more attention to CdS and spotlighting the drug wars in Mexico and all this is bad for business. Soon you'll have more military all over the country the states of Sinaloa which will ultimately will lead to more arrest of top capos and a bigger war do to the power strogles. Any old school drug dealer know the less attention you bring the better

  21. These decapited people were members of the Sinaloa Cartel who tried to operate in Guasave ,where el Chapo Isidro,"el 04" and his brother, and "El 100" or Juan Pablo Osuna, and El Pecas AKA Los Mazatlecos have the area.under control. All those mentioned are plaza bosses in different cities in Sinaloa.

Los Mazatlecos is a cell lead by Chapo Isidro, and ultimately lead by Hector Beltran Leyva.

I doubt an actual Zeta from Tamaulipas with their accent an all will make it that far or a group of them.
