Chapo's Nephew Killed in Culiacan

 Borderland Beat

The Attorney General of Justice (PGJ) of Sinaloa confirmed that during a Father's Day celebration  Obied Cano Zepeda, nephew of drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, was killed.
According to information from the attorney general, Cano Zepeda, 24 years old, was at his home in Colonia Loma Linda, in the center of Culiacan, when a command cut him down in a hail of bullets.
The gunmen descended from several vehicles and fired several shots against others  present at the home and those two were also killed.
Close to  Cano's body was man identified as Luis Alberto López Higuera, 25, the third person killed is Jesus Tostado, 22.
During the shooting a man identified as the father of one of the deseased was injured.  The injured man is identified as Fernando Lopez Lopez, 64.
Obeid Cano was arrested on May 21, 2008 with an arsenal, along with  Christian Misael Lopez Estrada.

At that time, the Federal Police captured two hit men of the colony Los Pinos, who had four firearms including a machine gun 50 caliber Barrett, hundreds of cartridges, magazines, grenades and 16 luxury vehicles. The machine gun was fitted with a Barrett's easel in the case of one of the vans.

In reviewing the safe house, officials said 16 cars of recent model, seven of which were reported as stolen.

The gunmen wore at arrest four guns, 25 magazines, 913 cartridges, 11 of them to Barrett, 50 gauge, three gas grenades, vests, boots, and other objects.

Obied was the brother of Luis Alberto Zepeda Cano, who was apprehended by the Army on August 22, 2006 along with four other men, including a judge in the town of Bastanita in Tamazula de Durango.

These arrests led to the fury of the Sinaloa cartel, which days later threw a body of a man on the main gate of the Ninth Military Zone with a sign on his chest: "For fingering, Eddy" (referring to the then head of the plaza, Rolando Eugenio Hidalgo Eddy).

  1. Damn Culiacan is heated right now! Another Guzman getting gunned down, awfully personal now?

    1. I doubt this, at least not in mexico, narcotics are a big source of income in some parts of mexico, even if chapo, lazcano or any top boss for that matter were to be killed someone else would take over. Also, as long as the U.S has a demand for drugs then the cartels should be aroun for a while, its just the way the world turns.

  4. I am glad I am not related to the Mini-Me. His family members have a bad habit of going down in a hail of machine gun bullets.

Im sure his friends and neighbors were jealous of his good fortune at being related to Uncle Chapo. Doubt they are very jealous of him now.

  5. I wonder how his family views the drug business when its their own children being killed. Do they write it off as part of the biz? Is the death overlooked by the need for retaliation? Do the regret it? Who knows what goes through their heads. What i do know is all the money they have cant buy life. Dude could've made his first five million and relocated his entire family and lived great, but greed and death is all that is left.

    1. You can bet theres gonna be retaliation by Chapo.SINALOA is pretty heated right now and the Beltran Zeta Carillo alliance is really aiming for Chapo,,chapos cartel members,or chapos family members.

Vicente Carillo Fuentes wont respect family members no more since Chapo ambushed Rodolfo Carillo Fuentes in Culiacan Sinaloa awhile back.

The Beltrans killed Chapos son so they dont have a problem killing family members, what I dont get is that the Beltran Leyvas and Chapo are distant Cousins

  6. It should be clarified that Gen. Rolando Eugenio Hidalgo Eddy was the 9th military zone commander from 2006-2008, in charge of drug interdiction in the states of Sinaloa and Durango and the apprehension of el Señor Guzman .

  7. A warning to chapo from zetas perhaps?

    1. Well there arent much Zetas in Culiacan Sinaloa, most likely it was Beltran Leyvas gunmen led by Chapo Isidro.Or one of the Commandos of Los Carrillo Fuentes, whose presence is big in Culiacan.

  10. If im not wrong wasnt Hector Beltran Leyvas nephew killed in Los Cabos Baja California not too long ago. By an armed comando??????????

And then Joel torres, nephew of Manuel Torres Felix gets shot in the chest which was neant to kill him but im not sure if he died or survived.

Now Chapos nephew is killed in Culiacan.
Maybe Hector Beltran Leyva is sending a message to Chapo .Something like if you kill my nephew I can also kill yours.

This is getting more and more personal.

  19. Beltrans and Guzmans I heard were related somehow but very distant in some way. Must be not too related, Chapos sister married Alfredo Beltran " El Mochomo " They are brother in laws, it's been speculated many many times if Chapo gave him up? Reason for retaliation of Arturo Beltran " El Botas Blancas " on the " Federation split " Many say no he didn't, was legit inteligence from the govt. and others say yes he did and reason why Arturo went crazy. Again speculation from what I have read. What has been said or done is amongst them but family is not off limits anymore.

  20. No amount of money in the world is worth my families blood, dumbasses fighting over a devalued dollar. Id hate to have billions that I cant spend, living day by day, and with fear of being captured. Im a reg dude making a decent living working mon thru friday and bitching about work like everyone does, but im free to walk down the street or drive were ever i want. These capos might financially be richer than me, but im richer life wise. You cant put a prize on fam or freedom, and luckily I have both. Salu2 desde chicago

    2. He was in a mansion in los cabos. Waiting for a prostitute. Can el chapo drive a Ferrari from Culiacan to Los Mochis or bring back his dead family members back? He's either going to get killed or locked up for the rest of his life. And others will benefit from his cash. Ya muerto de que le sirve el dinero? Naci encuerado, y si me entierran con traje ya es ganazia. Salu2

    1. The guy really taking the fight to Chapo Guzman is Chapo Isidro.

All I know is that the guy has about 500 sicarios in North Sinaloa alone, and he has check points all over Guasave,Los Mochis,Sinaloa de Leyva,Batamote,Ahome,El Fuerte Guamuchil,Mocorito,Navolato.according to a declaration made by a member of Los Mazatlecos who was arrested he said he saw Chapo Isidro from far away and that once Hector Beltran Leyva met up with chapo isidro in a ranch called El Alacran somewhere in North Sinaloa.

If that wasnt enough the Beltran Leyvas have Samuel Lizarraga(plaza boss in Mazatlan(southern Sinaloa) and have most of the state of Nayarit under their control thanks to their plaza boss in Nayarit el H2.

Also rumors are that Z40 is in Nayarit and that he is also sending groups of sicarios in to Sinaloa to support Chapo Isidro.

Also Vicente Carillo Fuentes is supporting Chapo Isidro throughout his war against Chapo,El Viceroy is sending his group of killers from Chihuahua and Durango, also an independent but strong group led by Ramon Gallardo who operates in Durango is supporting him.

Chapo isidro is not alone he is being backed up by three different cartels.

  24. Beltrans have most likely bought there way into Culiacan. Remember they are wealthy as well and from Sinaloa. I'm not saying they own the plaza, but payoff people to go in and murk a few here and there.
Being and having people in Sinaloa has always been a problem for all of them trying to operate in one hood per say.
Imagine having the bloods and crips trying to hash out territorial wars in Compton. Now give them high powered rifles and tons of resources and well you can imagine.

  25. Shit's crazy! Please real Mexican ppl help the comment right above mine. How do these crews roll when they go "live" and clip another legit sic that's also packed w his crew too or maybe they just happened to survive another day ?? The great state of Texas allows me to carry a Remington 30.06, an SKS, and an AR-15, in my ride wherever I go, but I shoot like el guapo from the three amigos. The day this world ends I ain't gonna be the weakest cat. Just sayin'. These peeps live it every day. Adrenaline rush amadre.

  26. Most of the people killed the last couple of days in sinaloa have the Lopez last name. Now not all related but most are. The deaths are related to a family feud between Lopez & Beltrans. Both families are from Badiraguato and have tons of support and pistoleros. The reason you see more Lopez dead is because the Beltran henchmen are going after anyone with the last name. And the Lopez are only going after the ones involved in their kins murders and attempts. This feud dates back to the 50's. The Lopez from badiraguato are a closely knit group and very bloody. The Beltrans will be paying dearly.

  32. I agree,
I wish BB would report more on what is actually going on in Sinaloa. And thanks to the guys that actually giving us some insight as to what is happening. We all know Chapo Isidro is de armas tomar and has been reacking havoc on CDS guys lately. I wouldn't doubt his power, let's not forget that the Beltrans have really nothing to lose anymore and so much to gain. They hold immenense wealth, maybe they aren't pushing as much right now as before but they still do have the resources to finance their fued.
    Very interesting.

Damaso Lopez Nuñez,wasn't he a major or some shit at Punte Grande?Him and others are the reason Guzman was able to bail? Some might know a bit more of whats happenin with dude now,is he still a player in the CDS an shit?
On Isidro, this dude must have some major juice, how the fuck can you hide when you in convoy or heavily armed in same areas of influence?
He must roll with some naughty firepower, this guy must be on a kill on sight deal?I wonder if some crews don't wanna go there,he is either a clever motherfucker, well trained, lucky,or all three combined, cause this guy not on the radar,he is the fuckin radar.
