Javier Beltran Arco, alias "El Chivo," is accused of being a high-level boss in the trafficking organization. He was captured by police forces Wednesday in the city of Apatzingan, Michoacan, along with two alleged accomplices, according to reports.

The three suspects were apprehended by security forces after being spotted driving armed through the neighborhood of Cenobio Moreno. Upon arrest both Beltran’s companions reportedly confessed to working as lookouts for the organization.

Police seized a small amount of crystal meth, various weapons and ammunition, along with a blanket bearing the name of the gang.

The Caballeros Templarios are a splinter group of the Familia Michoacana gang that emerged earlier this year. Following the capture of the Familia leader in June, government forces have poured into Michoacan to capture Caballeros Templarios boss Servando Gomez Martines, alias "La Tuta."

Within hours of the arrests, a small protest of about 100 people broke out in the area of Apatzingan. The protesters, allegedly paid by the Caballeros Templarios, held up signs reading “Calderon you are Michoacano, protect your state,” and “Felipe Calderon, we want peace.”

  1. Wait so let me get this right la familia michiocana is a splinter group from the zetas and now Los caballeros templarios are a splinter group from la familia wow these guys are about done.I think it's pretty obvious that this is the weakest drug cartel operating in Mexico yes weaker then the cartel de Tijuana why because this group operates in michiocan an arellano Felix in Tijuana a border city which makes them able to cross and make more Money.

  2. @1:14, No man you are wrong, CAF is the weakest cartel in Mexico, dont care they are close to the border, they don have neither the firepower nor the money, political infuence, etc, etc. CAF can't hold a open war agains the federal forces like los caballeros are doing.

  3. My grandmother just came to visit us in california from michoacan. Shes lived there all her life. When I alone about all the things la familia and los caballeroa templarioa are doing, she lashed out on me in anger stating that they are not criminals. They do what the govt disnt do for the poor. These michoacan cartels help the poor by offering loans, protect civilians from crimes fro other cartels, its own citizens. My grandmother would actually feed their sicarios, help wash clothes. Basically they are the protectors of the poor aka robin hoods. ive never heard of these gros causing harm in my familys hometowns, contrary they protect from crooked cops, federals, cartels.

  4. I'm sorry dude im gonna have to disagree.3:18pm. The caballero templarios are not more powerful then caf. The fact that they are having an open war with federal forces only shows how loose their grip really is over the michiocan state. I doubt that that's good for buisness. The fact that Arellano felix operate in tijuana and get along with federal forces shows alot.

  5. This people are really ignorant when it comes to this. CAF still is a big player when it comes to drug trafficking. They have operations also in Peru and Argentina. Just beacause they are not making the same mistakes like the other cartels making everything public and bringing heat towards them. You can't compare CT with CAF. CAF still has a lot of influence. CAF has been here for more than 2 decades and I'm pretty sure their not going anywhere. And CT can't even handle the pressure and getting their ass kicked and they only been her for what? Less than a year! Yeah no comparison!

  6. Obviously you don't care if their next to the border.3:18pm. But if your a drug trafficking organization there's is nothing better then that. Los caballero templarios are only good at recruiting sicarios because they were once zetas but now they also like to bring too much attention to themselves this guys are gonna go down it's a matter of time.

  8. LA FAMILIA has its own bible, its organized like a church. Nacho was very SPIRITUAL in what they are about and what they are doing.

  9. that's the thing, it is the mentality that has brought the country down, "as long as they (the narcos) do not mess with us, we do not need to say anything" but there will come a time when those who look the other way while crimes are being committed, and just as long as they also get some benefit from it, there will come a time when they will be harmed because they could be caught in a crossfire...

how you can say that? are you a CAF fan or what? CT controls the whole Michoacan state, the have influence in guerrero, morelos, mexico state an more. CAF don't even have de complete influence on Tijuana, the city who has de name of is cartel, Sinaloa has taken the mariguana and cocaine bussines from CAF, and ingeniero only got the crystal meth, even the CAF own liutenants are working with Sinaloa. How you can say that? when that group has no control of his own territory nor his own people?? THATS BULLSHIT!! CAF is gone, accept it. You guys looks like those manguera kids around youtube and news websites writting crap about CAF making him a powerfull cartel when they are down, everyone knows that, is not rocket sience. The SEDENA has a report sayin CAF is the weakest group in Mexico(Diagnóstico de la Sedena: los cárteles, imbatibles), Stratfor, BC Goverment, they all agree that CAF is the weakest, are they wrong or ignorant too? Get real please.

  11. I'll have to agree here, for the most part, I don't know about the weakest, if Juarez still has a family war chest, I suspect the CAF does too, even if it only includes Endenia and Ingeniero. Honestly, there hasn't been a lot of good information coming from Tijuana in awhile, the San Diego press has been calling Tijuana collapsed since 2006, and the Zeta has a lot of good information, but sometimes I think is prone to rumors and 'word of mouth', which is fine, but to be considered.

But, some facts are facts, they share the plaza with Sinaloa, no way around that. And from what I can see, probably get their product from Sinaloa too. So, while CAF and their crews are still an up and running organized crime group, they are far from a powerful cartel, like others in Mexico. However, they do still have a stake in a lucrative plaza, which is more then a lot of organizations can say. La Familia/CT does seem to be imploding quickly, though in all fairness.

  12. don't kid yourself the CT are not helping the poor. That straight BS. They have ruined the tourist industry in Michoacan and thousand of poor people have lost their jobs due to that alone. Now the are working on developing a market to sell crystal meth locally, Yeah that will help the poor. Crystal meth and extortion thats their game.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Extortion sounds so much better when you call it "protection." It just sounds so much more user friendly.

  14. @7:22pm.Im guessing your from the state of michiocan.Either way it doesnt matter the CT ARE THE WEAKEST CARTEL IN ALL OF MEXICO.They have trouble controlling their main area of influence, and in morelos and guerrero the beltran leyvas are the ones that dominate the plaza just ask los caballeros templarios if they know a group of sicarios called los rojos who work for B.L,IM PRETTY SURE THEY WILL SAY YES.

  15. I been going to mich all my life and right now they have problems but they do help the poor and they won't let nobody sell meth nomore plus they build alot of rehab centers and they would give money to the people in the ranches cause one of them stopped and gave my aunt 500 pesos which is like 45 dllrs and he was respectful, I would say who it was but nobody would believe me

  16. The caballeros templarios are better organized and stronger then Hector Beltran leyva, the CT are not hiring little 13 yr old kids to do there dirty job, they respect woman and children, HBL hires little kids cause they pay them off with little chump change cause they are going broke, they are nobody without Arturo Beltran leyva

  17. Hey Mr. Narcopunk, go find another board to spew your bullshit. The cabalyeros are criminals. They murder, extort, kidnap and steal. They manufacture one of the most poisonous drugs in the world and sell it for profit. They respect no one. They use everyone. The cabalyeros should be exterminated.

  19. Yes, there is a lot of anger at the Mexican government, because it was a punished state denied federal funds for so long. Why was it punished like this? Because it was the PRD stronghold.

The Michoacan poor are well aware of how Michoacan was centered in on to be whipped by the PRI apparatus. the idea of the PRI was to demonstrate to one and all in all the different Mexican states that if they were to go with the PRD, that then they would have to pay a heavy price indeed. The PRI impoverished the rural areas of Michoacan forcing the men to move off to the US to find any work to feed their families, as they abandoned the farms and pueblitos there almost entirely. The women and kids were left behind and only young boys and old men were their male companions most of the time.

  20. @8:58amYour a complete idiot. The caballero templarios are having trouble operating their main area of influence and Hector beltran leyva has managed to maintain most if not all the plazas he and his two brothers Arturo and Alfredo had all over the country. So it's pretty obvious who I's more organized, don't compare the CT with the Beltran leyva, you just can't.Even the Sinaloa cartel had to unite with CDG and LFM because they alone couldn't take on the Beltran leyvas.Los CT are a bunch of unorganized idiots who are only surviving by staying on chapos nuts.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Actually its the other way around LFM is nothing without their spiritual leader haha.Beltran leyva continue to operate normally two years after their main boss Arturo was murdered but will we be able to say that about Los caballeros templarios?? I doubt it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah I agree on this one CT is not stronger then BL there is just no way they barely control michiocan and they're having some serious problems doing so.While Beltran leyva loyalist have no trouble showing it's rival the sinaloa cartel that they also operate in areas like sonora and if chapo doesn't like it what happened in tubutama sonora, and Ruiz Nayarit could repeat again.
