Tijuana - Over nine tons of marijuana with an estimated value of $11 million dollars were seized by agents of the State Police near Mexicali.

Although arrests were made, state authorities have failed to disclose further details of the incident. However, it is known that the seizure of marijuana was relocated to State Police facilities.
This Thursday, many homes were searched throughout the city, specifically in the former farming cooperative Coahuila.
This bust comes at the heels of another seizure that took place less than 24 hours earlier in San Luis Rio Colorado. Military personnel seized 10 tons of marijuana and arrested three members of the drug cartel cell headed by "El Machoprieto", the alleged leader of bodyguards belonging to El Mayo Zambada, who claim to be protected by the Federal Agency of Investigation in Mexicali.
Upon questioning of the suspects, it was revealed that all drugs arriving in Mexicali are stored in warehouses and ranches in Valle de Mexicali until they are transported to the United States.
It is without a doubt that the Sinaloa Cartel is responsible for this cargo.
