La Familia Boss Captured

México City.- Federal police (FP) have arrested Sergio Moreno Godínez, El Amarillo, the man who was given control of various plazas for the La Familia cartel. He was in charge of the towns of La Mira, Guacamayas, and the important municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán. During his interrogation, he revealed it is part of the cartel's strategy to "clean up their image" and displace the federal police, forcing their exit from their territories.

According to the FP, El Amarillo said that the objective for the banners left last week that offered a truce with the Federal Government and the disbandment of La Familia in exchange for a security guarantee for the state, was part of a public relations effort to to change the groups image, in particular the image of the principal operator and logistics coordinator, Servando Gómez Martínez, La Tuta. In truth, the group wants the FP to exit the state quickly.

Also revealed was a new tax imposed by the cartel known as recovery "cuotas," basically its a type of collections agency for people with chronic debt and it is for the benefit of the third party lender.

Moreno Godínez is the fourth boss to be installed to run the plaza of Lázaro Cárdenas since April of 2009; the boss at the time, Rafael Cedeño, El Cede was arrested; in September of that same year Marco Arturo Juárez Cruz, El Chamuco was detained, followed by the arrest of Carlos Martel Delgado Cendejas, El Cocacolo in May of the following year.

El Amarillo is originally from Irapuato, Guanajuato. In 1987 he joined the Ministerial Police (MP) for the state of Michoacán, he ascended to becoming the head of the force until failing a drug screening during an anti-doping campaign within the department.

In 2000, He was detained by his former colleges in the MP of Michoacán for possessing 5 tons of marijuana. He served 7 years and 8 months until he was released from prison on August 23rd, 2008.

He is also indicted for the crime of extortion of commercial businesses and charging of cuotas to street level drug dealers and other black market operators.

He was captured on highway Pátzcuaro-Uruapan, he was on his way to a meeting with his jefes in ciudad Morelia and Uruapan.

At the time of his arrest officers found in his possession one large caliber rifle and ammo clips along with a personal bag of cocaine. The vehicle he was traveling in was reported stolen.

His arrest was coordinated with the detention of four operators working for El Amarillo at the port of Lázaro Cárdenas.

Those detained: former municipal police officers Héctor Pardo Valdovinos, El Chapa; José Luis Ortega Pimentel o Bravo Sánchez, El Díez; also Miguel Solano Chávez, El Quince, informant and former police officer Óscar Alejandro Albarrán Mayoral, El Gordo, who was the chauffeur and personal escort for some of the jefes of La Familia.

Los Pelones fighting La Familia

11/16/10 - Authorities have found the body of a man early this morning near the outskirts of Cuernavaca, Morelos.

The unidentified man had been shot several times and his face and eyes were wrapped in cloth and tape.

There was a message found nearby that was signed by Los Pelones, the contents of which weren't revealed at this time.

Los Pelones was created by Edgar Valdez Villarreal, La Barbie, they were his personal group of sicarios, beholden to him before he was captured this past August.

Later that same day, armed commandos pulled up to the entrance of a tourist hotel in the municipality of Tepecoacuilco, Guerrero and threw a corpse on the doorstep along with a message that was attached.

Authorities from the Municipal, State and Ministerial arrived at the scene they found a corpse with signs of torture that was wrapped towel and blankets.

This message was found with the body:

“This will happen to every last one of los Pelones Atte. La Familia and El 5-5 "War is fucking war...Hahaha." (la verga es la verga jajaja)

The sketch of a bulls' head with the letter F on the horns also appeared on the message.

The dead man was named Agustín Bacilio Tecoapa, identified by the license found in his pants pocket.

  1. This article says that La Barbie's sicarios were called Los Pelones, but it was Los Negroes, Now I am not sure if maybe he had more than one sicario group, but know for a fact the his Negroes fought with Los Chachos for the past few years. It was always give and take until his capture. Los Negroes vs Los Chachos(El Peinado y El Flaco) or Los Negroes vs Los Zetas) Does anyone know if there is a sicario group led by La Barbie called Los Pelones?

  2. On another article, this guy is saying La Familia is weak, and disorganized, and other negative remarks about their standing, I don't know about that. Besides, skirmishes and 'tit for tat' in Guerrero, and a little support to CDG and Sinaloa, where are they fighting? Nowhere. I guess the Federal Police are pressing them hard in Michocan though, but that's normal.

  4. todos saben que los pelones se reportan con los chachos. Casi son los mismos. La familia va a perder con El Mayo y El Peinado. Arriba El Chapo y La Federacion Sinaloense.

  5. Is C. Matamayor dead yet? And who is La Barbie's wife? If Matamayor is his fatherinlaw then everyone should know his wife?

  7. From my understanding La Barbie headed "Los Negros" for El Chapo and the Sinaloa cartel during their war with the Gulf cartel. "Los Pelones" were his sicarios when he worked for the Beltrans after they split from CDS.

  8. @Smurf..

Didn't Los Pelones and Los Negros come about around the time when the Z's and CDG's were fighting for Nuevo Laredo?

  9. Ovemex,

I'm not sure to be honest, I found one article that claims Los Negros were the CDS response to the Z when they worked for CDG. It was published in 2005. Osiel was captured in 2003, so maybe they formed before the Z fully split from the Gulf.

This one has more details on the capture of 8 members of los Pelones and its dated June 24th 2010, also claims La Barbie headed this group. I'm not sure when they were formed, but I don't remember them being mentioned before the capture of Alfredo Beltran Leyva, I assume that means they worked exclusively with the BLO.

  10. @Smurf

I found it..Barbie was made leader of the Negros and they did go up against the Gulf/Z's in Nuevo Laredo 2005.

Remember the Beltran Leyva gang were originally "commanders" in of the Sinaloa cartel.(until 08 when Alfredo was arrested and El Chapo's son was killed)

Los Pelones and the Negros were armed groups of the Beltran Leyva gang (under the Sinaloa Cartel)

Here's a little more info on La Barbie (Pelones/los Negros)

  11. werre did the chachos vs negros happen? Are the chachos the same ones in dgo, and doesnt el flaco lead la gente nueva

  12. Sweet!

That clears it up, thanks for checking on that Ovemex.

If La Familia is fighting with los Pelones then that must mean that LP isn't part of the Sinaloa Federation. BLO must still be backing them up I would assume.

  13. Let me try and clear some stuff here.

In Matamoros, before the war broke out, there was something called "La Maña". People didn't know who they where or when they started and automatically just linked the mexican cartel/s with that name, so anything bad that would happen would get stuck to La Maña. La Maña was actually an alter ego Los Zetas would use to keep their name clean. Smart tactic, which is the same thing that happened with "Los Negros" and the infamous Mata Zetas group that appeared a while back with videos and what not.

They tried to make it seem like they where just normal citizens getting together to clean the world of Zetas, when in reality almost everyone knows they where the same people.

Los Negros was a group formed to combat Los Zetas, a group that in its time was led by La Barbie.

  15. Rise always got the knowledge... Makes a lot of sense, the Z especially have garnered a lot of hate because of their activities. La Maña put out an awful video of some members beating some teenagers with 2x4's, and I never bought the MataZetas as a vigilante group. Have you heard of those guys Pelotones Omega? prob the same type of group.

Also, I added the presentation. El Amarillo claims that La Tuta is a broken man; financially, physically, and mentally. He says la Familia is on its last leg and La Tuta looks like an old man who is tired and no longer wants to be bothered with the details of running the cartel
