Nearly two years after the operation task force was implemented in the state of Chihuahua called "Operation Joint Chihuahua" the numbers of people killed has increased considerably, where also a large number of police officers have been killed in the line of duty .
This operation, besides having a huge economic cost, represents the fight against organized crime, it also comes with a cost of police officers who have lost their lives for the safety of Chihuahua and has taken a major blow to police agencies and families .
The figures highlight that the performance of police officers in 2008 was concentrated in Ciudad Juarez with 91 executed; in Chihuahua there was 48, 6 in the city of Parral, 6 in Villa Ahumada, 5 in Aldama, 3 in Guadalupe Distrito Bravo; 3 in Janos and 2 in Praxedis and G. Guerrero, for a total of 164 slain officers.
Some of those attacks against the police left dismembered a full police forces, like the cases of Aldama, Villa Ahumada, Namiquipa, Janos, Nuevo Casas Grandes and Galeana.
The figures also highlight that in 2009 alone so far at least 44 elements of different police agencies, including military, federal police, ministries, state and municipal police of Chihuahua died in the line of duty.
64 ministers of judicial agencies have been killed in the last two years has reached 22 in 2009.
The Attorney General's Office detailing the state in regards to the ministerial police agents in 2008 recorded the death of 42 employees of the unit, of which 2 were of Expert Services (the director, Mr. Pedro Aragones The coordinator in Parral) and 40 were elements of the Ministerial Police, 4 of them died in car accidents and other violent means.
During 2009 it has recorded the deaths of 22 employees of the Attorney General in the State. One was a medical examiner (in a car accident), three were prosecutors (one in a violent manner, one in an accident and another committed suicide) and 17 belonged to the Ministerial Police Investigating one of them died in car accident the remainder in a violent manner.
The latest assassination of an agent of the state prosecutor's office took place on November 11, 2009 at University Avenue and Calle General Retana, Colonia Santo Niño, when the coordinator of homicide, Jorge Marquez, was deprived of his life by an armed commando.

January 27, 2009 .- Two municipal policemen were surprised in an attack in two seperate different incidents. Both incidents ocurred almost simultaneously, as theyt were slain on board their vehicles to meet the high members of the chain of command in the Historic Center area on a late Tuesday nigfht of January 27 in the streets of the city. Dropped dead with one gunshot to the head the incident happened on 29th Street and Avenida Juarez and the other in the Aldama and Second streets.
They were rendered full honors at the Northern Command, on January 29. May this two municipal preventive police officers rest in peace.
June 17, 2009 .- The second in command police Raymundo Segovia Pallares, fell in the line of duty the night of Wednesday June 17, 2009. The police agencies of Chihuahua and Juarez laid off many of its officers many of who were ultimately slaughtered.
May 14, 2009 .- The second in command police officer of the town of Manzano, Victor Manuel Perez was murdered, he was his 24 years old. Unarmed and on his day off he was surprised by commandos in the morning of May 14, 2009, outside his home in the town of Dos Colonias.
Two Cipol agents were killed in 2009
In 2009 only two agents of the State Public Security Secretariat belonging to Cipol have been killed in the line of duty, as reported by the operating director of Cipol, Saul Hernandez.
The data provided indicate that besides the two deaths of the agents more than six officers from different agencies were injured in different incidents as reported by several municipalities, mostly in Chihuahua and Juarez.
Saul Hernandez, chief operating officer of Cipol pointed out that the state legislative congress responsible approved a 100 percent pension of benefits to the families of the fallen officers to support their families.

April 25, 2009 .- Two federal police officers were surprised by a group of gunmen, who deprived them of life on April 25, 2009 while on his day off in the downtown area. Walking the streets in La Paz and Globe when they were surprised by their attackers.
