Gunmen Kill Three at Wake of Man They Killed Days Earlier in Tzintzimeo, Michoacán

By "El Huaso" for Borderland Beat

Gunmen killed three people and injured four others injured when they attacked a wake of a man who was killed just three days before in the town of Tzintzimeo, Michoacán.

The most recent attack occurred on Saturday when armed men stormed into the home where family and friends were holding a wake for Daniel, a man visiting from Arizona who had been murdered days earlier when gunmen stormed into his home. According to neighbors, he was a mechanic in Arizona, United States. His wife and daughter were injured in that attack.

Authorities launched a search effort seeking those responsible for both attacks, but were unable to find the culprits. Two abandoned vehicles allegedly used by the gunman were recovered.

  11. Tzintzimeo is only a couple miles from the Morelia International Airport. There's been a lot going on in the Alvaro Obregon-Zinapecuaro corridor, probably related to huachicol but also attempts to gain control of the gateway to the eastern forests in the mountains around the Monarch butterfly reserves..
