Mexican authorities seized four 3d printers at a criminal explosives workshop in Lerdo de Tejada, Durango last week. The bust highlights the ease of constructing IEDs using commercially available components and machinery.
Also seized were 20 kilograms of fertilizer, 100 grams of gunpowder, one kilogram of sulfur, five kilograms of charcoal, a bag of potassium nitrate, and various chemical substances.
Open source intelligence account Pernicious Propaganda identified the 3d printers as the Creality - Ender-3 V3 SE Printer, a budget, entry level 3d printer easily attainable from online retailers like Amazon.com.
