“Sol Prendido” for Borderland Beat
Things are going to get bad here. Maybe not as bad as finding out the other day that there's an actual armed criminal cell of gay operatives in Sinaloa who were fornicating with each other for some intel.
Still, though bad is bad, even though some of us would like to think that there are levels to it. Or better yet, standards that criminals should abide by for the sake of not looking so damn immoral.
Having said that, things are just as bad in Guanajuato, if not worse. Assassins from the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel (CSRL) hand out an extreme form of punishment against an alleged thief in the city of Celaya.
His condemnation involves a 16-inch machete for the removal of his arms at the elbow. Each forelimb comes off with little effort because of how sharp the blade is. Followed by a single gunshot to the head for his eternal silence.
Like I mentioned earlier, what takes place here is bad. Distinguishing which was worse is really up for debate.
Sicario: Whats your name?
Captive: Uriel Ismael Garcia.
Sicario: Where are you from?
Captive: Celaya, Guanajuato. I live on Prolongación Mexicali in the Santa Rita neighborhood.
Sicario: Why do we have you here?
Captive: Because I was robbing the OXXO convenience stores, burglarizing homes, and stealing motorcycles.
Sicario: Where exactly were you stealing?
Captive: I was doing my bidding in the Los Olivos, Villas de La Esperanza, Gobernadores, and Emiliano Zapata neighborhoods.
Sicario: Who else was with you for this?
Captive: Maldito and Johnny.
Sicario: Is there something that you’d like for the citizens of Celaya and its surroundings areas to know?
Captive: Don’t bother doing what I was doing because this will be your fate.
Sicario: This is what’s going to happen to you sons of bitches that are drawing law enforcement attention to this area. Our message applies to women, students, and the rest of the population.
