Intense Clash Reported Between Navy and Armed Civilians in El Roble

“Sol Prendido” for Borderland Beat

An intense confrontation between elements of the Mexican Navy and a group of armed civilians took place this Tuesday afternoon, December 9, in the community of El Roble, in the municipality of Elota, Sinaloa, generating a large-scale deployment of federal and state forces in the area.

According to initial reports, the armed clash occurred when Navy personnel were conducting patrols in the rural area and detected the presence of armed individuals traveling in several vehicles. After attempting to stop them, the civilians allegedly responded with gunfire, triggering an exchange of fire that lasted for several minutes.

Due to the intensity of the confrontation, it was preliminarily reported that there were injuries, as well as fatalities, but this information hasn’t been confirmed.

The area remains heavily guarded by Navy personnel, the National Guard, the Mexican Army, and elements of the State Preventive Police, who established a wide security perimeter at the entrances to the community to prevent the passage of vehicles and ensure that investigations can be carried out.

Operations were launched in dirt roads, agricultural fields, and local roads due to the possible presence of more individuals involved who may have escaped after the confrontation. Authorities continue to conduct patrols by air and land to ensure that the situation is completely under control.

To date, no authority has issued an official number of fatalities, injuries, or arrests; a more detailed report is expected in the coming hours once the investigations are completed and confirmed information about what happened is obtained.

  1. The tough wannabe cartels must of escaped from the marines and nation guards. Their only tough when they decapitate there rivals or innocent civilians but when it comes to the army and marines. Their cowards. It seems that they were going to capture a big fish.

    1. 8:26pm You are absolutely correct my friend. These scumbags only prey on the weak and defenseless. When they go up against the Marines they always run away like little girls or they get smashed. This is your real definition of a bully. Nuff Said!!!
