Cristian Fernando “G,” also known as El Guacho, son-in-law of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho, leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), has been sentenced to 11 years in prison.

At the time of his arrest in November 2024, El Guacho was living in California under a false identity after faking his death. He is described as a "high-ranking leader of a Mexican cartel" and was charged with "international drug trafficking and money laundering."

Cristian Fernando was wanted by Mexican authorities on suspicion of kidnapping two members of the Mexican Navy in 2021 to secure the release of El Mencho's wife, who had been arrested by Mexican authorities, according to an affidavit from a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent.

Federal Judge Beryl Howell, in Washington, D.C., sentenced Gutiérrez Ochoa to 11 years and eight months in federal prison.

Last June, El Guacho pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to one count of conspiracy to conduct financial transactions involving proceeds of unlawful activity, or money laundering.

  3. Only 11 years? It seems very light to me. I wonder if he snitched on the cartel. He will only probably do six years of that sentence with good behavior. We will know once he gets out if he snitched. If he gets deported to Mexico that means he kept silent. If he disappears without a trace that means he went into the witness protection program. One thing I do know for sure is that this guy is an idiot. He got caught because he paid for a house in a fancy neighborhood with cash. Just dumb and dumber. Jim Carey would be proud of this guy. Nuff Said!!!

  5. If he still has resources he will be out soon. This is a historic opportunity for all criminals with resources to buy pardons; so this criminals timing of his arrest and subsequent trial was perfectly timed 👍🏼

  12. From the sentencing documents from Justice Department and his attorney, it doesn't seem like he cooperated. But maybe they have something else coming. They dropped all the drug charges, and he pleaded only to money laundering. The prosecutors were asking for the max on the charge, 14 years. And he was asking for 85 months, which is more like a Jessica Joanna sentence.

  14. 11 years isnt much considering the millions that were possibly laundered. Hes probably a ci for the dea. Sinaloa had deals with the dea where they gave up rivals in exchange for being able to traffic drugs unimpeded.
