26 Cartel Figures Extradited (Transferred) to the US Including "El Cuini," "Chavo Felix," and "El Flaquito"

"Socalj" for Borderland Beat

This Tuesday, the Attorney General's Office (FGR) and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) and the US Department of Justice reported that they transferred 26 people to the United States. Video has been published showing several of them being loaded onto a military plane under heavy guard.

Through an informational card, they announced that the 26 people, without revealing their names, had extradition orders and were wanted for their ties to criminal organizations for drug trafficking, among other crimes, and represented a permanent risk to public safety.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 13, the Security Cabinet will hold a press conference at 11:00 a.m. in the SSPC auditorium to provide details on the extradited individuals.

While no official announcement regarding the names of those extradited has taken place yet, several media sources are independently confirming names of those sent to the US. Journalist Oscar Balmen has mentioned confirmation of three names of the 26.

Omar Garcia Harfuch says the transfer was done under the National Security act, the same legal framework used in the 29 kingpins sent to the US in February, bypassing the formal extradition process.

However, Harfuch mentioned there was an agreement that the US would not seek the death penalty in any of these cases.

US Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson noted in a news release that among those transferred today were key operatives of the Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) and Sinaloa Cartels.

Notable Transfers

  • Juan Carlos Felix Gastelum "Chavo Félix," hitman and son-in-law of "El Mayo" Zambada.

  • Pablo Edwin Huerta, "El Flaquito," leader of the CAF/Arellano Félix Cartel, formerly the Tijuana Cartel.

  • Abigael González Valencia, leader of Los Cuinis, the financial arm of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and brother-in-law of "El Mencho."

  • Leobardo Garcia Corrales, a longtime Sinaloa Cartel member whose brother was killed at the beginning of the MF/Chapitos war in Sinaloa. Related to numerous political figures in Elota.

  • Hernan Domingo Ojeda "El Mero Mero," Ovidio Guzman's uncle and member of Los Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.

  • Kevin Alonso Gil Acosta "El 200" of the Los Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.

  • Martin Zazueta Perez, "El Piyi" of the Los Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.

  • Luis Raul Castro Valenzuela also known as “Chacho,” a member of the Sinaloa Cartel.

  • Jesus Guzman Castro "El Chuy" an operator for Los Mayos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.

  • David Fernando Vásquez Bejarano “El Acelerado” a Los Rusos operator close to "El Mayo."

  • Mauro Alberto Núñez Ojeda "El Jando," a pilot for Ivan Archivaldo Guzman.

  • Servando Gómez Martinez, "La Tuta" former leader of the Knights Templar.

  • Roberto Omar Lopez, "Shrek."

  • Francisco Chavez, likely from Cartel del Noreste.

  • Jose Baldomero Fernandez Beltran "El Mero" an operator for Los Pelones.

  • Juan Carlos Sanchez Gaytan a member of Los Zetas.

  • Daniel Perez Rojas, a Los Zetas member initially arrested in Guatemala.

  • Abdul Karim Conteh of Sierra Leone is accused of running a large human smuggling organization bringing migrants from around the world to Mexico and the US.

  • Roberto Salazar, "El Gordo" is accused in the 2008 killing of a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy. He was an Avenues gang member at the time of the killing, two other gang members were involved and they believed they were targeting a rival gang member.

  • Anton Petrov Kulkin is a former Bulgarian military doctor who was arrested in 2018 for running a fentanyl lab in Mexico.

    4. Despite the criticism from the strong stance American has taken. This is a win for Mexican citizens. We all know these high level people will not be able to run the organization as it did freely.
It’s the backlash that these Mexican politicians are getting from their paid clients to not have these extraditions granted. America is tired of the BS attitude and lack of cooperation American officials have received in the past decades.

And they also don’t seem to understand that if the US or any other country invades another the first thing they need is local allies.

No seremos de sangre, mas lealtad yo he demostrado
Siguen firmes los Ántrax, y yo soy el que está al mando
El señor del sombrero y el jefe Flaco me dio el mando
Qué orgulloso me siento de lo que a mí me ha pasado
Y a don Mayo Zambada siempre vamos a extrañarlo"

Well he dropped charges against MS13 leaders so they would be free to be deported to CECOT prison in El Salvador.
The silk road guy was freed as thanks to the Libertarian Party for their political support in the 2024 elections.
The Jan 6 rioters lucked out, some of them were serving 20 year sentences!
      Nuff Said???

The MS13 were not sent to CECOT, they're free.

Silk road guy was freed, the reasons for it don't change anything.

Jan 6 were pardoned, again, the reasons for it don't change anything.

  21. It’s crazy how as soon as Trump got elected Mexico started extraditing people they have been trying to get for years. And then they follow it up with another big run. Maybe Mexico president is getting nervous about all this talk of military operations in Mexico by US government against cartels. Cause I’ve never seen Mexico so inclined to extradite its drug traffickers. I mean if you run the numbers. More traffickers have been extradited in Trumps first year as president then in the last 10 years. Crazy how pressure works isn’t it. 🤨🤨🤨🤨

  22. Mexico has finally gotten a president that doesn’t cater and play favorites with the cartels. Who would have thought all Mexico needed to get drug trafficking under state control again would be a woman. Man you gotta love the irony in a female dealing with all these machos and winning.
