By "El Huaso" for Borderland Beat
Gunmen attacked a bar in Uriangato, Guanajuato on Sunday night, injuring one. There were 29 attacks on bars in the state of Guanajuato in 2024, with the pace remaining consistent in the first months of 2025.
The attack was reported at 8:24 PM on August 10 in the neighborhood of Emiliano, Zapata, in Uriangato, Guanajuato.
CCTV video from outside the bar show three men with rifles arrive in a white pickup truck, open fire through the doorway, and flee in the truck 30 seconds later.
The casualty accounts differ widely. Some news sources reported that eight people were killed in the shooting, but a government press release rejected this, saying only one person was injured with non-fatal wounds.
Bar attacks are one of the unique hallmarks of criminal conflict in Guanajuato. There were 29 attacks on bars in the state of Guanajuato in 2024, with the pace remaining consistent in the first months of 2025.
The targeted attacks are representative of the style of violence employed by Guanajuato's criminal groups, who typically attack each others urban street dealers and businesses rather than engage in street shootouts or fights in the countryside.

ReplyDeleteEvery american unit flying through Mexico is a collaboration between the enforcement of the two nations. Time to time someone report those american drones and the mexican authorities already demystified about this question some time ago. Few chances it can be against MX wishes, but i don't believe this theory because it wasn't the first time plus Claudia sent more drug lords to US.
